Thank you NetGalley and HQ for the advanced copy of this book.

This is the first book I have read by Alice Feeney and it certainly won’t be the last.

What a book, told from two, three or possibly four narratives, it was difficult to decide, but the book had you guessing all the way through. I did find it a bit slow to start, but once it got going couldn’t put it down. Who was the murderer I didn’t guess until very near the end. Lots of twists and turns, characters you either love or dislike – wouldn’t say hate. Well written and a different plot for once.

Highly recommend

What a rollercoaster of a book this was!

Full of dark secrets and revenge, I was on the edge of my seat for the last half of the book, racing through the pages towards the big reveal.

Cleverly written and kept me guessing throughout, I would definitely recommend.

His and Hers by Alice Feeney ⁣

Wow, what a book! This is my first Alice Fenney book and after seeing so many amazing reviews of this I had to read it. ⁣

This had you guessing the whole way through, there was SO many twists throughout that I had no idea who was behind everything, and it was like this right until the very end! ⁣

This follows two POVs which are both really easy to follow, and flows well between the two.⁣

I highly recommend this to anyone! And this will definitely not be my last Alice Feeney book! ⁣

Wow!
1st part of the book was a little slow paced and not much was happening, but as you read on it becomes clear that all the details in the beginning are needed for the face paced, gripping 2nd part! Keeps you guessing until the end, with dark secrets that twist and turn. Sometimes a little confusing who is the Him and who is the Her, but this only deepens the clever storyline. Excited to see this as a TV Series.

What a thrill ride. Who to believe jack or Anna?

The best book I have read all year. Devoured in one sitting it was too good to put down.

Full of intrigue and suspense, thrills a minute guaranteed with this book.

Highly recommended, 5 stars. Would give more if I could.

A twisted thriller told from two or even three narratives. I read Alice Feeney's previous novel and have mixed feelings about this one. The characters were unlikable and could not believe two school acquaintances from a quiet country town would both have the same job as a BBC newsreader. An adequate time filler and a decent read.

I’ve read books written by this author before and thoroughly enjoyed them. This one was no exception. Written from two different narratives, there are plenty of twists and turns along the way to keep your interest. Highly recommended

I loved Alice Feeney's last book - Sometimes I Lie - so was so excited for this one. She is such a talented writer and this story does not disappoint. An estranged couple are bought back together over a murder in their hometown. One a reporter and one the detective. So many secrets and motives. A real whodunnit. A little confusing at times but I feel I need to read again knowing who did it to really grasp the story again! A good, fast paced read with some good domestic drama also.

I found this narrative a little confusing, maybe that was the point. The way the ARC read was like a third character voice was within the pages but it was hard to differentiate when that character came in. I found it a little hard to follow at times, however still found it compelling and wanted to find out what was going on. Many plots with twists and a little explicit in some places. Overall I did enjoy. Thank you Netgalley for my advanced copy.

Anna Andrews is 36 and a BBC TV news presenter in London but, after two years covering for Cat Jones who was on maternity leave after having two children, she’s relegated to news correspondent when her colleague returns to work.

When a woman is found murdered in the woods in a sleepy Surrey village called Blackdown, Anna is dispatched to the place she used to call home to report on the case. While there, she sees Detective Chief Inspector Jack Harper, head of the Major Crime Team, who is in charge of the investigation and also happens to be Anna’s ex-husband.

Over the course of five intense days, we learn more about ‘Him’ (Jack) and ‘Her’ (Anna), including some background history and the reasons for their split, in alternating chapters. These are interspersed with odd sections from the killer.

As the evidence builds up, both Anna and Jack seem as if they could have the motives and opportunity to have carried out the murder, and it’s obvious that they’re rather unreliable narrators and hiding numerous secrets from their pasts, which still haunt them. Anna drinks too much and Jack has unsuitable relationships.

This was such an intriguing and entertaining novel with lots of twists, turns, red herrings and misdirection. I was suspicious of all the main protagonists at some point and didn’t really trust any of them – there were various clues scattered throughout the book that pointed the finger at most of the characters!

As this compelling story reached its climax and the pace increased, I was gripped and raced through the novel, desperate for the big reveal. I wasn’t disappointed – the ending was action packed and I held my breath at various points, completely unsure what was going to happen. Going into the final pages, I was trying to think outside the box and suspected two characters as the murderer but was wrong about both!

Overall, I really enjoyed this well-written and cleverly plotted murder mystery thriller – it was engaging and tense, with great characters and some shocking scenes. I’ve already read the author’s last book, I Know Who You Are, and look forward to reading her debut, Sometimes I Lie, which also sounds an intriguing read!

Thanks to Net Galley and HQ for an ARC of this book in exchange for a review.
Alice Feeney certainly does not disappoint her readers with her new book.
This is a gripping fast paced read with lots of twists to the plot which will keep the reader guessing right to the very end.
His - DCI Jack Harper. Hers - Anna Andrews, a new presenter, their paths cross when a female body is found in Blackburn Woods.
There is mystery and suspense and creepiness in the woods.
This is a addictive, terrific read.

Oh my god, if there ever was a book that kept me in suspense or had me confused, it was this book. With the way the book was written I really had no idea who was going to the bad guys and who were the good guys. Such an easy flow of a story, short chapters & characters were brilliant. This is one of the best books I've read all year. There were so many events & things you had to really think about which kept me wanting to read more. Definitely recommend this 100%. I'm now going to purchase her other books.

Just wow! His & Hers by Alice Feeney is everything I want in a thriller and more. Its completely addictive, dark, full of flawed, believable characters, and I didn’t have the foggiest clue who the killer was until the big reveal towards the end: it’s spectacularly good!

The narrative is told from the alternating perspectives of DCI Jack Harper (His) and newsreader Anna Andrews (Hers). When a murder in Blackdown village brings these two back together in a professional capacity it quickly becomes clear that they’re both intensely troubled characters. Each deeply suspicious of the other, each harbouring secrets and lies, each seeking to gain the upper hand. When one death turns into an investigation into a serial killer, we are given the distinct impression that Jack and Anna are in it up to their necks, and not just thanks to their career choices.

The characterisation in this novel is superb. The interplay between Jack and Anna and the development of each of their characters kept me completely gripped from the first page to the last. I genuinely had no clue what to believe or who to trust until the explosive, utterly twisted finale. In theory both of these characters should be unlikeable and I should therefore have struggled to connect with them, but I found that even though I kind of hated them both, I also kind of LOVED them! Weird? Possibly. But I think it’s testament to the cleverness and quality of Feeney’s writing.

Now you’ll have to excuse me, I’m off to buy everything she’s ever written. His and Hers is published by HQ and is available to buy now. With thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley for gifting me an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book was brilliant!
The characters were vibrant, the story was complex and layered - one of my favourite books this year.
It was such a page turner, I got nothing else done!
I loved how the writer used a dual narrative with an alternate chapter for each of the two main characters.
You can't go wrong with Alice Feeney's books. they are all amazing.

Thank you to NetGalley and HQ Stories for my ARC copy!

WOW! I dont know how else to describe this book!!
From the 1st page I was totally drawn in. The story tells 2 different sides of the story, Jack and Anna and also another point of view of what happened.
There seemed to be a twist or turn at the end of every chapter and I was gripped! Just when you think you know where its going, the author throws a curveball! I think I suspected every character in the story, so to then find out at the end was a brilliant ending.
Loved every minute!

This is the best book I have read for some time. I was exhausted when I finished it. I suspected everyone but never guessed the ending, i am going to re-read it to pick up the clues now I have the answer. How Ms Feeney managed to keep tracks of the plot is beyond me. Very clever writing.

Anna Andrews is a presenter on the. BBC's lunchtime show. She is separated from her husband who isi investigating several murders in the town. Anna has a connection with the victims in that they were friends at school together.

This is a page-turner and extremely clever. I can't sing its praises enough.

Another great twisty psychological thriller from Alice Feeney. Two people with two versions of a story but who is telling the truth ?

A woman’s body is found in a wood within the village of Blackdown. DCI Jack Harper is in charge of the investigation but he recognises the victim and saw her just before she died. He decided to keep the information to himself and continues to work the case but is he more involved than he should be ?

Alice, is a TV news journalist and travels to Blackdown to cover the discovery of the body. Once she arrives she realises that her ex-husband is running the case and she also knows the victim. It’s not long before Jack starts to think his ex-wife could be involved in the case.

The story is told in alternating chapters by Jack and Alice. Their stories are quite different but who is telling the truth ? Both of them doubt the other but who will you believe ?

Thank you to HQ and NetGalley for a digital copy of this book.

This is superb! Well-written, enthralling from the start, challenging and so satisfying. Jack is investigating the murder of a woman and his ex-wife Anna is reporting on the case for the BBC. Nobody is to be trusted, nothing is as it seems and the denouement is stunning! I loved it.

I have mixed feelings about this book, I started off thinking that I liked this and ended up being a little disappointed in it. It was a very depressing read and me made quite sad which is something I really don’t look for in a book. I prefer a book to transport to places of warmth and happiness or have me reading all day and don’t want to put it down.
This did neither , I was reading it on a cool and rainy day and the book didn’t lift my mood.
I had high hopes for this book but, unfortunately this time it just didn’t live up to expectations.
My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
