This is definitely my best read of the Year.  It was so gripping and fast paced. It really keeps you guessing and looking over your shoulder.  I have read all of Alice Feeney's books and loved them all but this is the best one yet.!

Insanely good! 

His & Hers is one hell of a rollercoaster ride of twists and turns that doesn't let up until the very end! 

Told between the perspectives of Anna and Jack, each character soon proves they are less than reliable narrators as they each give their own accounts of the night of the murder with key missing details or things that don't add up. Both clearly have serious issues that they're avoiding dealing with and are unable to account for themselves and their behaviour which means neither can prove their innocence. But one of them is guilty and I was desperate to figure out who!! 

Every time I thought I'd figured out who was to blame, there was another shock twist in the perspective that pointed to the other! I honestly couldn't put this down and enjoyed every minute. The details of the murder are disturbingly gruesome and unsettling and is clearly the work of someone with a serious vendetta and a very sick mind. But as each narrative contradicts the other, the hardest thing is to trying to decide which of the accounts is the one we can trust and who is actually the murderer! 

His & Hers is fast-paced, fantastically developed, cleverly written and was a really enjoyable read. A huge five star read for me; another Alice Feeney masterpiece! Strap yourself in and prepare for twist after turn, shock after shock and an incredible climax that you won't see coming!

A BBC presenter and a Police Detective are reunited in this thriller with many twists and turns. Bodies of women turning up dead, what happened in their past? 

This story has many twists, and I found most of them pointless and over the top, making the story too unbelievable. Many of the “big reveals” and twists at the start just weren’t even needed, and as they continued they just made me not connect with the story as I found it getting ridiculous. This book just wasn’t for me.

A body is found in Blackdown Village. DCI Jack Haroer is sent to investigate. His ex-wife and reporter Anna Andrews arrives at the scene to report for the BBC news. They had both grown up in the small village but Alice had left when her marriage broke up. It's not long before the body total rises.

I found this book to be a bit confusing at times. This story is told in alternating chapters by Jack and Anna. It's full of red herrings.  I thought I knew who had committed the murders, then there's a twist and my opinion would change again. I liked the authors writing style. Th3 characters aren't very likeable but they are believable.  Thenoace is steady and the end was satisfactory.

Wow great book , Kept me guessing whodunnit. Never would  have guessed the ending . Loved the way the story was told from his then her point of view . Great psychological thriller from this author

This was a solid, pacy thriller. I stayed up late to finish this and it kept me continually guessing as to motive and culprit. With an imaginative and vengeful killer, this is a good holiday read.

His & Hers is the first book I have read by Alice Feeney and it certainly will not be my last! This was a gripping, fast paced, twisty thriller where you just have no idea what is going to happen next. I was totally hooked throughout! 

Anna Andrews works her dream job as a BBC News presenter. She has put her career first before her friends and family and is now lonely, constantly drinking and trying to move on from some upsetting past events in her life. When her career takes an unexpected turn, she ends up being sent to report on a murder in the quiet village of Blackdown where she grew up to find out the victim is someone she knows. 

Her ex husband, Jack Harper is the DCI leading the investigation and when he arrives at the murder scene he recognises the victim. He chooses not to tell any of his colleagues as a lot of circumstances linked to the murder could make him a suspect. The question is, is Jack or Anna telling the truth or is one of them lying? 

When reading this, just remember that this book is based on lies. Alice Feeney manages to keep you guessing throughout. A lot of times I was convinced I had worked out who the killer was and then another twist would occur. The author most definitely keeps you on your toes! 

I definitely see this being a big hit over the coming months.

This was an easy to read thriller that kept my attention all the way through! Lots of twists and surprises I didn't see coming. Very good, would recommend! Interesting and addictive! Love Alice Feeney!

I really enjoyed this book. I had absolutely no idea who the killer was going to be. There were a few suspects in the mix and I didn’t know who was telling the truth or who to believe. The characters are well written and the story flows so easily. I found I really didn’t want to put the book down. I definitely recommend this book, thank you #netgalley.

This is a dark psychological thriller with a few twists thrown in for good measure. 
Following the discovery of a body in the woods Jack is called out to investigate and Anna, as a journalist is soon to follow to get the story. 
We find out early on that the two main characters have history but as the story develops more and more is revealed. 
The story is told in alternating chapters from Jack and Anna’s perspective and entitled ‘Him’ and ‘Her.’
There are paragraphs from the killer’s perspective but you don’t know who this is until the end and due to the formatting of the book they were tagged on the him and her chapters, which was a bit confusing. This may be because it was an ARC though. 
This is a great psychological thriller that will keep you guessing.

I do LOVE a good suspenseful psychological thriller that captures you from the beginning and makes you wonder and question what you are reading. A story that makes you wish the story never finishes and yet you want to see how it ends. And His & Hers did just that for me. I really enjoyed Alice Feeney’s previous novels, but this new one, so far, is my absolute favourite.

Set in a small town in Surrey with a claustrophobic atmosphere that gave me goosebumps, the story is told from two different points of views: one is Jack, a detective trying to solve the murder of a woman while, at the same time, trying to hide the fact that he had spent the previous evening with the victim and Anna, the journalist determined to prove that she is really good at her job so she conducts her own investigation of the murder, but she has her own secrets to hide. Who can you trust? What are they hiding? And are they involved in the crime?

For one who reads many, way too many, thrillers I am surprised when a story manages to still keep me guessing and surprises me over and over again. This book has everything I love in psychological thrillers:

unreliable characters full of secrets: ✅
high tension that keeps me on the edge of my seat: ✅
twists that I never see coming: ✅
a surprising and shocking ending that makes me love the story even more: ✅
Would I recommend this novel? Of course, 100%. It is suspenseful, unpredictable and gripping. The only problem that I had with His & Hers is that I was so immersed in the story that I found myself reading through the night which wasn’t a very good idea. This is such a chilling read that every time I heard a noise from outside I would jump out of my skin, but I couldn’t stop reading!

A fabulously addictive thriller that I want to read all over again. When a woman is murdered in Blackdown, newsreader Anna is sent to cover the case and her ex-husband Jack is assigned the case as the DCI on the investigation. They are both suspicious of each other and they both seem to have a connection to the victim.. but is either of them lying? 

This was honestly a near perfect thriller; it was tense, juicy and I didn't know who or what to believe. Feeney creates a really thorough backstory to her characters and their pasts which for me is really important in a thriller. She keeps you guessing throughout and links events in the past to the present effortlessly. I can't wait to read more of her work. 

As an aside.. unfortunately the netgalley version of this e-book wasn't properly formatted so that it appeared that the murderer's chapters were actually part of 'his' chapters. It caused me great confusion throughout and left me wondering why there wasn't more said about it at the end. Now that I know they were separate chapters I wish I could read it all over again and see if it might have been a 5 star read - I just can't tell!

His and Her was one of my most anticipated new releases of this year. I loved Alice Feeney’s previous books so my expectations were pretty high. And as always the author did not disappoint me. 

Alice Feeney has yet again delivered a fantastic thriller with a mind blowing twist at the end. 
The author’s done an amazing job with a dual narrative. The story is told from divorced couple’s points of view with the chapters cleverly overlapping each others. I loved the passages written from the murder’s point of view and I was constantly trying to figure out who it it. 

This books has everything I love about good thriller: unreliable characters, dark secrets, lies and clever twist and I was totally absorbed in the story. Highly recommend not only to Feeney’s fans.

I've only read one author Alice book. I did get bit confused in the beginning but soon figured it out and can honestly say it gripped me to the end.

I adored her first novel Sometimes I Lie. Her writing in #HisandHers is just as good, insightful & clever. The way she describes feelings and thought processes - it’s so intimate and real. Her writing is like honey - she has the most perfect turn of phrase and you just want to drink those words in. His & Hers is much more of a crime novel that her 1st book, rather than psychological. It’s the hunt for a serial killer & everything about the town it’s all taking place in. ‬The most enjoyable and gripping parts of the book are the flashbacks. An exploration of just how cruel and vile teenage girls can be to each other. This book is complicated. You are never quite sure of what’s what. It’s that constant subverting if expectation that keeps you hooked!

An alcoholic news anchor called Anna Andrews who will do anything for her career. 
There is a murder in Blackdown, a tiny little village in Surrey and Anna is sent to be the correspondent for the BBC.  Anna desperately does not want to cover this story but there is no way out and that is when we discover that Anna actually grew up in Blackdown. 

DCI Jack Harper now works and lives in Blackdown where he misses the excitement of working in the city and still misses his wife.    Jack is quietly pleased that something has finally happened in Blackdown although he is suspicious of Anna and her involvement and then Jack himself becomes a suspect. 

This shows us how there are always two sides to the story . . and sometimes even more.

This is a little beauty! Things were brittle enough between newsreader Anna Andrews and her ex-husband DCI Jack Harper before they found themselves working on the same murder case, where they both knew the victim. It isn't long before Harper finds himself being set up as the murderer and it isn't long before victim number 2 appears, another blast from the past for them both. The story falls back to the school days of Anna, fitting in and her friends with Jack Harper a couple of years older and in the background. 
This is a busy book with so much going off in the past especially the need to be in with the popular girls. Every character is so vivid that one way or another it will bring back school days to you. The story continues in the present day with Harper's sidekick and partner acting more than a little strange. This is one harrassed man from every direction though most of it he deserves.
The chapters are set out so that you get to see things through Harper's eyes and thoughts and then through Andrews' each headed His and Her. I don't think between them they can tell a true sentence. There are some very unforgettable characters in this story both in the past and in the present day. I was blown away at the end. This lady really knows how to reel you in. Loved every twisted second of this story!

This book had me reading well into the early hours! The events of more than twenty years ago have far reaching repercussions for the present day, and thus lead you into a series of murders that are all linked - but why? Those are the answers we must find, and we are led through a series of twists and turns galore. As each part of the puzzle is unearthed, we've found our killer, right? Wrong! The final reveal is as unexpected, as it is fitting, albeit in a twisted, unbelieving way. Fast paced - with believable, colourful characters - this is a highly recommended read.
