Cute take on the classic tale of the three little pigs. The narwhals were very cute. My daughter seemed to enjoy it. Made a nice bed time story.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

This is an adorable retelling of The Three Little Pigs featuring narwhals and a very hungry shark. The illustrations are precious and I think young kids will get a kick out of it.

Let me introduce to you The Three Little Narwhals by Stewart Ross which is a Twisted Fairy Tale based on the The Three Little Pigs which I got via Netgalley and I found it to be a breath of fresh air. Again the illustrations were of a high standard and really made this book so much enjoyable and way more entertaining than the original story and I feel that children and adults alike would get a lot more out of these books. So I have to give this wonderful book 5 stars.

Twisted Fairy Tales: The Three Little Narwhals is a quick, cute read, and I thank NetGalley for the chance to read an advanced copy. While the drawings are well done, they aren’t as captivating as other fairy tale retellings. The same can be said for the text - it’s solid, but not excellent. That said, the story is simple and fun, and it certainly has a place in libraries and classrooms. A familiar tale that families can easily enjoy.

This is a kids tale about three little whales.
One day they find a shipwreck and decide to make their homes from it.
They fight with each other and take different ship parts for their homes.
But a shark comes to eat their homes and brothers.
Writing is simple with rhyming like poems in between with repitition of dialogues.
Artwork is excellent with soothing and vivid use of colors.
A little fable to teach value of cooperation and helping each other.
Thanks netgalley and publisher for review copy.

This was a very cute children’s book with a twist on the three little pigs. It’s told with narwhals, dolphins and a big bad shark. I’d recommend it to any three little pig lovers out there! A cute read!

Another fun story in the Twisted Fairy Tales series. This time based on the 3 Little Pigs. We enjoyed the characters in this story and the underwater setting was a hit with my 5 year old. This made a great bed time story.

Modern twist on the Three Little Pigs classic!

Spikey, Spiral and Stubby are three narwhals that find a sunken ship. They decide to use the ship to build their own houses. One by one, the big, bad shark comes to their homes in search of lunch and the narwhals must use their wit and speed to escape.

This story is of course well known but felt more “chic” with the underwater world. The language was age appropriate but also challenging enough to spark discussion and give young readers room to grow.

This is a cute take on the classic story of the three little pigs starring a shark as the big bad wolf and three narwhals. My kids loved it especially my five year old!

I just reviewed Twisted Fairy Tales: The Three Little Narwhals by Stewart Ross. #NetGalley

A twisted story about three narwhals instead of pigs, in a sea, of course. But with the same moral of the story. So if you're bored already with Three Little Pigs, this one is a nice twisted one.

This was a very cute twist on the Three Little Pigs. The Narwhal siblings find a sunken pirate ship, strip it, and each builds a different kind of home from it's parts. I particularly enjoyed the dolphin family. Kids will laugh and cheer for this story.

This is the first book I've read from the Twisted Fairy Tales series. I like the concept of taking a classic fairy tale like The Three Little Pigs and twisting it up a bit. I like that the story was set under the sea and I thought the illustrations were nice but overall the execution of the story wasn't for me.

Who doesn’t love a cute little narwhal? This story was precious, it was a new take on three little pigs and it was adorable.

I loved that they used a sunken ship to build the houses, very creative idea and each one was different, I loved that it teaches creativity right away. There were so many educational things throughout this book and many things you can use to teach children from.

The characters were cute and drawn perfectly each with a different type of horn, the dolphins were so cute too. I enjoyed reading this little story and think it’s would be a great book to read with young children it’s a fun story, great art work, offers a lot of lessons and it features the cutest narwhals.

Thanks to NetGalley & Arcturus publishing for this being available as a read now ebook to review.

My daughter loved this book! It took a very long time to open, but otherwise once it did, she read through it quickly. She loved how it took a normal fairy tale and jazzed it up.

In a time when narwhals, the unicorns of the sea, are all the rage with today's youth - Stewart Ross brings to life a family of narwhals in The Three Little Narwhals and makes a splash! By taking notes from classic Three Little Pigs and reimagining it under the sea with a few aquatic twists to make this a unique tale, kids will fall in love with Spike, Spiral, and Stubby as they build their homes from a sunken pirate ship. The bad guy? A toothy shark!

In a book that is a perfect bedtime story length and with an ending that won't give anyone fears of the ocean or nightmares, it is a win! This beautifully illustrated tale will easily become one to read over and over and over without too much protest by the grown ups!

Thoughts from the Mini-Me-Reviewer: "It was a good! You should always build a strong house on a strong foundation! I loved that it was narwhals and instead of a wolf it was a shark!"

Young readers will love this twisted fairy tale. My kids enjoyed the story being about narwhals and a shark instead of the three little pigs. Such a fun and cute story.

This sweet little book takes the classic story of the Three Little Pigs and sets it under the sea. After finding a sunken pirate ship one day, three narwhal siblings decide to build houses for themselves however there is a hungry big, bad shark looking for his lunch and narwhals are his favourite treat!

This book is sure to be a hit with children as the shark repeats his "Munch! Crunch!" line however the story also has a few fun giggles for adults.

I appreciated that the story had a moral of not judging based upon appearance.

This book would be fun to do a compare/contrast lesson with The Three Little Pigs. Some vocabulary would be too difficult for the intended reading age, but they would like the twist on the sing-song verse. Recommended for 1st -3rd grade with assistance.

This is the third book I've read from this series (the other two being The Ninjabread Man and Little Rude Riding Hood). It sort of falls in between the other two.

The Three Little Narwhals is a retelling of "The Three Little Pigs", but instead of pigs it's narwhals, and instead of a wolf it's a shark. When the three narwhal siblings witness a pirate ship sink, they salvage the wreck for parts to build their own houses. Spike builds a tent-like home out of ropes and sails. Spiral builds a wooden house. And Stubby, left with nothing but the metal parts of the ship, builds a most unusual house indeed. The shark eventually causes his own downfall, and everyone lives happily ever after.

Aside from setting this under the sea, there isn't that much that's "twisted" about the story. It follows the overall plot of "The Three Little Pigs" pretty closely. In the end, it's not so much the cleverness of the narwhals that defeats the villain, but the villain's own actions.

The writing is, surprisingly, not as bad as in the other two books (despite the fact that it has the same author as The Ninjabread Man). But the story is weaker. The illustrations are okay, but I don't like them quite as much as in the other two books.

I guess this series just isn't for me, no matter how much I was initially attracted by the overall premise.
