I like Ms Baggot's books and this one was no exceptions.
It's an engrossing and entertaining story with an unusual setting which is vividly described. I once visited Nashville and was happy to the back there via this story.
The characters are well thought and the plot flows.

Enjoyable romance set in Nashville.
Jared ‘Jed’ Marshall is the newest star of country rock. His bad-boy reputation and country rock god status mean women are throwing themselves at him. About to embark on a new tour he’s looking for a support act that he’s not going to fall out with.

Honor Blackwood hasn’t song on stage for 10 years. A teen star with the world at her feet, a terrible incident has changed her life and ended her career.

Jed offers Honor an amazing opportunity bit is she brave enough to take it? Is she ready for everything Nashville offers and the pressures that it brings.

Romance and music combine to create the Nashville atmosphere. Jed and Honor’s relationship has the usual romance high and lows, and it’s well done. They really connect through music and it is when writing together that chemistry between them is strongest.

Jed’s extreme personality and the arguments he gets into felt a bit too extreme for me. And Honor makes some judgements that seem out of character as the tension reaches its climax.

But you don’t read romance for realism. This is a great escapist book with a happy ending perfect for beach reading. I loved the Nashville TV show and this would not be out of place as a storyline.

This is the first of book by Mandy Baggot that I’ve read and I will definitely keep an eye out for more. Thank you Netgalley for the advanced copy in return for an honest review.

Really enjoyed this book, again another great book from Mandy.

I just love Mandys books and this is just what I have come to expect! I also love country music so was extra keen to read this one.

I loved the characters they were complex and damaged and lets face it who isn’t!?

Good solid chick / romance that makes you want to love a cowboy or a cowboy with a guitar!

If you are a lover of country music - this book is really relatable - there are so many references to country artists. At some points in the book - I wish I was actually at some of these performances. The live music and the crowds - I was whisked away.

This is a cute, light and fun read.

One Summer in Nashville by Mandy Baggot a five-star read that will bring the warmth. This is such a sweet and stormy read, this can take a few chapters to get into but once you are in you will feel like you are there in Nashville humming along with the singers and feeling part of the scenes. I did have a couple of déjà vu moments when I was reading, but I honestly think that could be because I read the original made in Nashville years ago, but the one thing I do know is that each time I read this author I get new tings from them, each time I read the stories I get new details, this is on of the few authors I will re-read over and over and this is a story that will become well-worn with me, as I like my creature comforts when sick, the same film and book over and over one that you enjoy and can know word for word but still find something new in it and I think this one fits the bill perfectly. Its not all joy and happiness and that’s what makes it such a deep and interesting story and one that will make you care as well as smile.

This is the first book that I have read of Mandy's, and I wasn't disappointed. I loved the country music feel, and her main characters Honor and Jed.
Honor was left scarred while playing one night, and couldn't face carrying on, that was until Jed appeared on the scene. Can she face her demons to perform with the sexy Jed again?
There is a secret that could destroy everything. I loved it! 5 stars from me Mandy.

Country music and romance!

Honor Blackwood had been the reigning queen of country music until a stalker attacked her during a concert resulting in severe PTSD. Jared 'Jed' Marshall just had a new record release and is planning his next tour when he heard one of Honor’s songs and decided to find her to support him on his next headlining tour. She wanted nothing to do with him or performing again but Jed made her realize how much she missed it being on stage.

I really liked One Summer in Nashville because it showed Honor scared of being stalked again and the resulting problems but I felt the end of the book was a little rushed solving all of the problems quickly between Honor and Jed.

I remember wanted to enjoy this book.
It starts with a playlist, and I loved that idea but I just really struggled getting into the story and DNF around 40%.

The characters are Country music stars but I just could not warm to them at all and struggled with the story.

So, with that in mind shimmy into your tight blue jeans, button up your favourite checked shirt and get ready to give yourself over to the magic of Nashville.

Honor Blackwood was once the female face of country. The Taylor Swift of her day. With the voice of an angel and a warm and effervescent personality she was the woman that everyone wanted to love. Now, ten years later, all she has are the gold discs and the memories of that terrible day.

Jared Marshall is the bad boy of Country. He’s a hard living, hard drinking rebel who has broken the boundaries by mixing heavy rock with Country music. He needs a great support act for his upcoming tour and after a chance encounter he decides that Honor would be perfect. Except that Honor has eschewed the world of music and is too afraid to return to the life that nearly destroyed her.

One Summer in Nashville will have you tapping your cowboy booted toes and dreaming of the stage at the Grand Ole Opry. While it is a fun romp through Music City it isn’t just a fluff piece and there are some quite adult situations that both Honor and Jared have to face. Coping with the consequences of other people’s actions ten years later leaves them both a little fragile and wanting something more.

Very charming book. set in Nashville this follows the storys of 2 main characters Honor and JAred.

Honor is approaching 30 and was a country superstar, however a terrifying incident caused her to stop performing and she now works in a music shop. Jared is the next big thing, risen to superstar status he is about to embark on a tour and he hears Honor singing and wants her for his next tour, but Honour wants no part of it.

Along the way sparks fly, secrets come out and both Honor and Jared have to face their demons to move forward.

Ive really enjoyed all of Mandys books and this is no exception. Very charming easy read.

As a massive fan of Mandy Baggot books I literally couldn't wait to read this one, One Summer in Nashville.

The story was highly enjoyable, loved the characters and the interaction between Jared and Honour, you could tell straightaway that they had a connection. I thought the setting of the story was brilliant, country music, concerts, romance, secret past, perfect combination for sure.

My only real cristism about the story relates to the character of Honour, I didn't agree with her actions towards Jared at all. She was so quick to drop him when she heard the story from the reporters/news etc, she didn't even consider hearing Jared side of the story. She professes to love Jared pretty quickly in the beginning but doesn't even contemplate that the news story is lies and not the true version of events and instead runs in the opposite direction. All I can say is thank gods her friend Mia and the guy Corbin talked some sense into her and made her see the light.

But regardless of the above, the story was wonderfully written, and highly enjoyable. Author Mandy really does know how to write a great story.

I was really hoping to love this story. In the beginning I really enjoyed it but it quickly went downhill from there. My dislikes were Jared was too hot tempered, as soon as they started dating they were already so in love and the ending was too dramatic for me. Thank you NetGalley for my copy!

I have to be honest that I was a bit sceptical that I would be able to get into this book when I first started it. I know nothing about country music or Nashville or any of the songs listed at the start of the book as a playlist. Combine this with I felt that there were quite a few characters introduced at once in the first few pages.
However I have always loved Mandy's books and pressed on regardless and whoa I am so glad I did!
The book's two man characters Honor and Jed were both strong and intriguing in their own way and their romance blossomed so quickly it was a really enjoyable romantic tale. I loved that there weren't too many horrible twists and turns along the way just little 'bumps in the road'.

When I requested this book from Netgalley I had no idea what I was getting myself into! It was purely based on the cover and that it was set in Nashville, which holds a special place in my heart. I quickly found out that Mandy Baggot is magnificent at pulling you in, making you adore her characters, and giving you a story with all the feelings attached. I found myself laughing, tearing up, and gasping right along with the story as I devoured it.

Although I loved the book and rated it highly, there were times that the timeline of events wasn't as clear as I would have liked. Although I knew a short time had passed, the gravity of things sometimes made it feel as if it had been longer than it had. I loved the short chapters and the dual perspective within each. It really helped to see inside the character's head and emotions as things were unfolding. I felt like both the main characters, and the supporting characters really stood on their own and were well written. She definitely had me convinced that there was a stalker, and it was obvious it was Corbin. I didn't see the father twist coming though. I am already writing in my head about her father and his mother taking up life together.

I liked this book because it was more than just a romance. It had so many issues running through it that kept me reading

Jed Marshall was a big star on the music scene with a tour in the pipeline but he too had a past.. He preferred to keep away from relationships but once he overheard Honor singing to herself he was drawn to her and wanted to help her back into music. He'd had a temper he found hard to control and this caused problems between him and Honor.

Mia worked in the music shop with Honor and was a good friend to her, likewise Jed had a good friend in Buzz. Would their friends be able to,help them heal and find a future?

This was okay. I felt that Jared was borderline that boyfriend that overreacts and starts a fight for no reason just because some innocent bystander looks at his girlfriend or talks to her. I also didn't like the way that Jared felt his actions were justified, whaling on someone just because he grabbed her arm - his own kind of frontier justice as if he was a character on Sons of Anarchy.

This book started out good and I found myself interested to see what happened but as the the book went on I ended up losin interest and I ended up actually disliking the main characters.

I ended up dnf-ing just before half way.

If a book has Nashville in the title I’m there. Doesn’t matter if it’s about cowboys or music, I am all about that Nashville life (because I live in a dreary little town in Scotland and I long to live in Tennessee or Louisiana)

One Summer in Nashville follows Honor Blackwood, her struggle back in to the country music scene and her new relationship with country music bad boy Jared “Jed” Marshall.

Immediately I was drawn in to the music scene. The way Mandy wrote about Nashville and other artists was really believable. The characters were easy to like and the book had a nice flow to it. I felt it started to slow down around the 60% mark and I considered giving up because I found myself not really caring where it went. I plowed on and there were a few plot twists nearer the end that made it worth finishing.

Ideal if you enjoy country music or you’re just looking for a nice, easy read.
