I absolutely loved the author's previous two books and was so excited to be accepted for this novel.

Wow! Just wow!

This book was absolutely amazing!

This book was so addictive and I could not stop reading it!

This book is perfect for psychological thriller fans and may be the best one I've read so far this year!!

Another great psychological thriller from an author I haven’t read before, I am loving NetGalley for all these opportunities to read books from authors I haven’t heard of before. I have found some really great stories... and this is another of those.

Twists and turns in a well written, quick moving story. The story works well and leaves you guessing

Another great book from Phoebe Morgan. The body of Caroline Harvey is found and the baby she was babysitting is missing. The Dillons are holidaying in France when the police arrest Callum on suspicion of the murder. His wife Siobhan, daughter Emma, and sister-in-law Maria are left wondering who Caroline was and whether or not Callum killed her and stole the baby in her care. It becomes apparent that everyone has their own secrets and tales of betrayal and we hear the story from different people's viewpoints. The thrilling plot ends with a fantastic twist and shows just how imaginative a writer Phoebe Morgan is. This compulsive and gripping book is an absolute must-read page turner!

What Happened That Night....?
A dead babysitter, a missing child, a family ripped apart. What happened that night? Fast moving, twisting suspense with well drawn and believable characters not to mention a galloping plot. Compulsive reading.

What a page turner! The best book I’ve read in ages. Enough characters that you have insight in to all of them but few enough that they are all under suspicion! Really enjoyed it - worth staying up late to finish

This is a well written and fast paced thriller.

Siobhan is married to Callum. They have a teenaged daughter, Emma and the story begins with the family going on holiday to a villa in France owned by Siobhan’s sister, Maria.

They’ve been there only a couple of days when the police arrive to take Callum away- he’s wanted for questioning over a murder and there is a baby missing. The story leaps around in time and perspective with different characters narrating chapters. I guessed very early on who would be the culprit but I still enjoyed the reveal.

The book was skilfully put together and I read it in one sitting. I will look for future books by this author. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for my copy of this book.

Siobhan is married with her husband Callum and has a daughter named Emma. The family plans to visit a villa in France. The villa is of Callum's sister, Maria. After they reached France, police is arrived and arrested Callum on suspicion of murder of Caroline, his ex girlfriend. Caroline was babysitting Eve, her friend's One year old daughter but there was no baby found when the police arrived. Who killed Caroline and why? Where is the baby?
This was a fantastic novel by Phebe. Its my third novel by Phebe and I must say her writing style is brilliant.
Thanks to NetGalley and HQ for giving me an advanced copy.

A story of two women, Caroline and Siobhan, who both love the same man. One of them ends up dead (don't panic - it isn't a spoiler!) and the baby Caroline was looking after for a friend is missing. The book eventually leads you to the killer, keeping you guessing along the way.
More of a domestic suspense novel than a thriller or crime story, it focuses on relationships, family, loneliness, loyalty, and infidelity. I enjoyed it and invested in the characters (although I confess that Siobhan was a little too perfect for me to really identify with her.)
Thank you to NetGalley, the publishers and Phoebe Morgan for the opportunity to read and review an early copy. I would definitely read more from this author. (And quite fancy a holiday in the beautifully described villa in France.)

This is the first book I have read by Phoebe Morgan, but it certainly won't be the last. A superb read which kept me guessing until the end

What a fantastic book. I’m a fan of Phoebe after reading all of her books and this one didn’t disappoint. A fast placed thriller full of suspense, thrills and twists and a final plot change that I didn’t see coming. I loved how the story kept its fast pace throughout and that everything wasn’t what it seemed. Definitely a recommendation from me.

I must confess I am a huge fan of Phoebe Morgan, having read all of her previous novels. ‘The Babysitter’ was amazingly good and beautifully written and I couldn’t put it down.

Caroline Harvey was found dead in Suffolk by one of the parents of the baby, Eve, she was looking after for the evening. Caroline’s body was draped over Eve’s cot but there was no sign of the baby who seemed to have vanished. Different aspects of the scene leave the Suffolk police confused.

A few days later Callum Dillon, a TV executive, is arrested while on holiday in his sister-in-law’s luxurious French villa where he is staying with his wife, Siobhan, daughter, Emma and sister-in-law. He had been having an affair with Caroline and had left the country the day after the murder had taken place. According to him the affair was over. Although a huge possibility for the murder there was no known reason he would kidnap the baby.

Did Siobhan know about the affair? Why did Eve’s parents leave their daughter in the care of somebody they didn’t know that well?

As the storyline unfolded the web of intrigue grew with well-defined characters and exquisitely constructed twists and turns in every page. I devoured this in one day as I was so engrossed in the plot and characters.

Many thanks to NetGalley, HQ,General Fiction (Adult) and Phoebe Morgan for my ARC in return for my honest review.

Superb read. Highly recommended.

Rating 4 stars

Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Oh I did enjoy this.

It kept me absolutely hooked and I finished it extremely quickly. I loved the writing style, very descriptive and clear. I also liked the pace of the story, although it did take a little while for it to get rolling. And although I thought I had guessed the plot, bam there was another twist in there which was really great.

Definitely will read more from Morgan!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This truly is worthy of every 5 star rating this book will receive plus more! Be prepared to be blindsided by one of the most greatest, unexpected conclusions of a novel in 2020!

A woman found dead in her flat, her body slumped over the side of an empty cot. Who killed Caroline and more importantly, where is the missing occupant of the baby’s cot?

The answer to the first question appears to be obvious, the married man she has been having an affair with for the past year and a half, but how does little one year old Eve fit in the puzzle? Would Callum have murdered the baby as well as his mistress and if so, what has he done with her tiny body, or are the police looking for two separate incidents? Nothing is as it seems, the connection is baffling and as the investigation delves further into the lives of Callum, Caroline, and the missing baby’s parents things are even more unexpected than it first seemed.

Told from the viewpoints of Siobhan, Caroline and DC Wildy and set between Ipswich and a villa in France this is one hell of a psychological thriller that reads like a Hollywood movie and packs a massive punch. A clever, dark, whodunit with a small cast of characters that somehow still manages to keep you identifying the culprit wrongly right up until the bitter end, and what an ending it is!

As all becomes clear it is a genuine OMG moment and one that you won’t forget! This was a read in one sitting, couldn’t put down book and I loved it!

If you are a fan of psychological thriller’s than this is the book for you, plus it is a perfect book club book as it will definitely have everyone talking. From the characters, the plot line and then that all important plot twist, it all comes together to make this one of the top books in this genre of 2020!

The Babysitter will be published on 28 May 2020 and is available for preorder now from you local bookshop or here.

The Babysitter is dark with a capital D.

When Caroline’s body is found in her flat it’s shocking but where’s the baby she was looking after? A frantic search begins.

I loved the characters, they all felt individual and I enjoyed how the story weaved together to bring a shocking conclusion. You may have to suspend belief at some parts but The Babysitter is out of this world!

Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy. Loved this book! I did think the ending was predictable (some of it), but the suspense was good, you're always asking yourself questions, and I love the back and forth between interviews and characters.
