I was really excited to read this book, because it was the next in the Three Sister Island series. I loved reading all about Cam in the first book, with her adopted son, Cooper, and her relationship that budded with Seth. This book took me into the life of Maddie, along with the life of Ricky, or newly known as Pastor Rick. And it also set up the third book, where I will learn even more about their youngest sister and her life.

I think one of the things I love most about this series is where they live. It’s so charming and while they have real jobs with real stresses, it just feels a little like a vacation. Also, I studied psychology in school so I can relate with Maddie and her new vocation and her desire, sometimes overeager desire, to help others. And while I’m in between the ages of the sisters and their father, I can relate to his generation as well – his feelings about how life is slowing down and he’s on the other side from where he’s used to being. I am very glad I got to continue the journey with these sisters and can’t wait to read the final book when it comes out. My only complaint is having to wait for it!

I don't know what I like best about this book. Is it the setting of Three Sisters Island, or could it be the realistic characters that live there and seem like they're old friends of mine? What about the suspense that is just enough to keep me guessing or the way the author adds little nuggets of advice and wisdom, along with moments of humor, as she tells her story? Could it be that all of these reasons combined are the reason that I enjoyed On a Coastal Breeze so much?

This is the second book of the Three Sisters Island series and I quickly fell in love with the people of this beautiful place. The main focus of this book is Madison Grayson, a newly licensed marriage and family therapist, but her two sisters and her dad are also included, along with Ricky O'Shea, the new minister who is also Madison's old acquaintance. To say that their past relationship is complex is an understatement but this is what adds so much interest to the present. Could there possibly be a future for the pastor and the therapist?
Susanne Woods Fisher has written an entertaining story filled with faith, trust, love, and family. I want to learn more about the residents of Three Sisters Island and I'd like to go back to see what is next in store for the Grayson family.

"On a Coastal Breeze" by Suzanne Woods Fisher had me enthralled. I couldn’t put it down! It was a fantastic follow-up to "On a Summer Tide" from the Three Sisters Island series. Not only did Fisher create relatable, believable, and insightful characters; but the setting and dynamic between these unique island folk is totally charming and realistic.

I loved that this installment in the series also surrounds Memorial Day weekend. It creates a fun way I, as the reader, can relate to the characters as they experience the ebb and flow of life leading up to a holiday weekend that marks days, years, and months with special memories and feelings. Fisher creates relationships that are so adeptly described, family dynamics that mirror real life, and oh these sisterly relationships are so irritatingly true! She paints vivid and complex pictures of sibling relationships that take you on the rollercoaster ride that is so.stinking.real!

With the introduction of Pastor Rick we have a whole new adventure to join in on as we learn more about how the three sisters (Cam, Maddy, and Blaine) grew up and as we understand Maddy more deeply through her own self reflections and trips down memory lane. We continue to learn more about Cam and Seth’s relationship (that began in book one) and as memories unfold, characters grow and life on the island changes we learn lessons along with them. Fisher uses flashbacks; unique story settings like community meetings; Maddy’s therapist office; and the family dinner table to take us on these journeys.

I so appreciate that Fisher entwines faith, mental health, therapy, healing from trauma, differently abled individuals, community dynamics, civic engagement, and self improvement in the pages of her stories. While I absolutely love Fishers historical fiction works I think these contemporary stories are even more interesting. Excellent book -- will re-read it again just before book 3 comes out. Normally I don't read this author, but I liked the premise. Reminded me of Debbie Macomber. Hope she writes more in this genre.

On a Summer Breeze by Suzanne Woods Fisher is the second in the Three Sisters Island series. The first book was On a Summer Tide. I did not read the first book and I can definitely say that this story is a stand alone piece. You do not have to read the first book to enjoy the second.

Suzanne Woods Fisher does a masterful job with her character development. There are quite a few characters on Three Sisters Island and she creates each one with care. You find yourself cheering for them, crying with them, feeling the push and pulls of life with each of them. They are all very memorable right down to the Pastor’s secretary who is quite memorable.

The setting is also glorious. You can easily see the town, the camp, the dock, the family kitchen, the lighthouse and all that encompasses Three Sisters Island. You can feel the sun on your face, the sand between your toes and the quirkiness of living in a very small town.

I appreciated the Christian theme of this book. Don’t be afraid that the theme is very preachy because it isn’t. It’s written naturally and adds to the story.

If you enjoy contemporary fiction with a sound plot and great characters then I recommend reading On a Coastal Breeze. I can’t wait to see what Suzanne Woods Fisher has in store for us next.

Fear, a relevant topic for today's world. Everyone I know is dealing with this on one level or another. In this much anticipated second book in the series, we find the folks we met in the first book facing their fears. Cam and Seth are dealing with issues, like just getting their wedding date set up and rolling. Pastor Rick's grand entrance was fun. Even in places that you can predict what might happen, it's still a fun read that I enjoyed. As each of these people worked to overcome their fears, I felt encouraged and uplifted. There are some pretty big issues to tackle and I hope that you will read all about them in this book. I would recommend reading On A Summer Tide first so that you don't miss a second of this series.

The Grayson family who lives on Three Sisters Island returns once again. This is a continuation of book one, On a Summer Tide. The reader will feel they are living on the island and part of this wonderful family. It is a delightful series of the dynamics of love, faith, and family in the day to day challenges. Just when you think the family is settled there is a plot twist. Enter...Ricky O'Shea! How could a pastor disrupt someone's life, it can and has been done. Follow along as Maddie, Cam, and Blaine each tell their story, face their fears and dreams. I loved this series and cannot wait for book three to come out. What will book three hold for the readers? I received a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to leave a review.

On a Coastal Breeze is the second book in the Three Sisters Island trilogy and is every bit as good as the first, In a Summer Tide. Where book one focused mainly on Cam, the eldest sister, this book focuses on Maddie, the middle sister. I found her insight on grieving the death of a mom and how to control anxiety perfect timing. Between the death of my mom and the coronavirus, I have felt more anxiety in my life than I ever have, and hate that feeling.

I'm still not a fan of the youngest sister, Blaine, as she continues to be selfish and very childish. I'm interested to see what book three brings in the way of her story.

A delicious recipe for homemade granola has been included at the conclusion of the book.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK 

Another awesome read from Suzanne Woods Fisher. I think I have read all of her books to date and they just keep getting better. In On a Coastal Breeze, Madison is happy with her new office and her newly opened business. Living on a small island has its perks, but available bachelors is not one of them. But she is still happy! That is, until one day trouble landed on the island.

This is such a fun story to read. As I read, I had all kinds of emotions. There was certainly many feelings of happiness throughout this story, but I found myself frustrated at Madison at times because she acted like a child! But there are sad moments as well, combined with more joyful times, so as you can see, no getting bored with this one.

I love the island setting if this story, and everyone knows everyone so it is a cozy place to live. The characters are so expertly created and their development makes you want to keep reading to the end. And I like and appreciate the way the author takes characters through the gospel in a way that it doesn’t feel like it’s too much. It’s like the every day living conversation. We dead about several difficult issues, which were handled very well. But being one that don’t give away much of the story, you need to read this book to get a full feel of what it is about. And believe me, it is well worth the read. If you enjoy a good clean and enjoyable read, this is one you don’t want to miss.

Suzanne Woods Fisher returns her readers to Three Sisters Island for her second installment featuring the Grayson sisters in "On a Coastal Breeze." I love how, even though sister Madison's story arc is featured, everyone in the family gets their time in the sun as well.

Madison Grayson has finally hung her shingle as a newly-minted marriage and family therapist on Three Sisters Island. Her office, in the parsonage basement, is perfect - not too girly, or too colorful. Now, all she needs are clients. When she learns that the island has finally hired a new pastor, she is excited to meet him. Unfortunately, she doesn't put together exactly who he is until he parachutes into town. How could her childhood nemesis, Ricky O'Shea, have changed his ways enough to become a pastor, of all things?

Rick O'Shea fell in love with Maddie Grayson way back in kindergarten, and she's held his heart ever since. As a kid, he spent his time seeking her attention, and using any means possible to do it. Unfortunately, most of them just made her mad. Can adult Rick find a way into adult Maddie's heart while he still has time to love her?

Rick and Maddie seemed so opposite in this story, and yet, that is part of what made them work. Maddie is a worrier - about everything. Rick is a daredevil, taking on every extreme sport he can think of. He helps her to see that her worrying and anxiety only hurt her, and she helps him to see that living his life can have all the adventure he needs without risking his life repeatedly.

I also liked that older sister Camden and her fiance Seth, father Paul, and baby sister Blaine had additions to their stories within this book. It's great to see a family that can work together like this one does. They fight, they argue, and yet, they love each other.

This book can be read on its own, but in my opinion was 100% better because I'd read "On a Summer Tide" first. It's a contemporary romance, which is a bit of a departure from Ms. Fisher's usual Amish fiction, but so far, I have loved both books! I cannot wait for Blaine's book to come out! I definitely recommend.

I hadn’t realised when I requested this book it was the 2nd in a series. I hate reading series books unless you start at the beginning. I did enjoy the book and it was well written but do feel I’d enjoy it more if I read the first one. So will definitely be looking out for it now

Oh, how I love this contemporary Christian fiction series by Suzanne Woods Fisher; and I loved this book that closely followed Maddie’s story. She’s a young woman of strong faith and has her own counseling practice. Yet due to the tragic loss of her mother when she was a child, she battles at times with fear and anxiety. She‘s honest with herself about her battle, and I liked how she turned to prayer to help get her through times of almost panic. She is also having to deal with the fact that her childhood nemesis, Ricky O’Shea, has just recently become the pastor of her church. It was fun following their sweet, and sometimes humorous, story. We also follow the stories of Maddie’s sister, Cam and Blaine. There’s still more to come in the lives of all these sisters as they find a new life on Three Sisters Island. The next book can’t be published soon enough for me!

On a Coastal Breeze by Suzanne Woods Fisher is the second book in The Three Sisters Island book. You could read this book as a stand alone, but trust me when I say you would enjoy it so much better if you read the first book also.

The second book picks up where the first book left off and it's a continuation of an ongoing story of three sisters. I love this kind of series, because I can connect with a character and continue to learn about them in the following books. It's like hearing news from an old friend. Even if the new book doesn't focus on the same character you still get glimpses into their life.

I love the setting of this series. A small island where everyone knows everyone and time moves at a slower pace. I lived in a small town for about fourteen years so I am very familiar with that kind of life style and it really is a great way to live.

In this second book, the focus is mainly on Madison. Madi feels like she is finally getting her life in order. She is starting her own practice as a therapist, and even though there is a shortage of eligible men on the island, Madi is content with where she is in life. Things are finally going good. But then, Ricky O'Shea drops in. Literally. From a parachute he floats right into Madi's life and becomes the new minister on the island.

I think you'll love this series. It has a "home-like" feeling and the characters are so fun and quirky. This is what I like to call an easy read. Just curl up and enjoy! A cup of coffee won't hurt either!

The second book in this series really was just as good as the first one. This family has some wonderful times together. There is laughter and tears throughout. So glad that Suzanne has given us this story. Can’t wait to hear Blaine’s story.

Return to Three Sisters Island in the latest novel from Suzanne Woods Fisher, On a Coastal Breeze, and catch up with the Grayson family! (As the story does in On a Summer Tide, this book may focus on Maddie Grayson, but keeps the reader up-to-date with the other family members, too.)

Maddie is finally settling into her place and purpose—professionally, at least. Now, the new pastor arrives on the island, and because he is an unpleasant blast-from-the-past, he happens to complicate everything.

I so enjoyed revisiting this place and this family, catching up with this next aspect of their journey together. It is not easy, but it does prove satisfying to see how they make it through the struggles. I’m looking forward to seeing how this series continues next.

This book was fantastic with elements of humour, hope, faith, and forgiveness in a unique setting and with just enough "twists." It was cute and easy to read - hitting all the right notes for me. The characters were likeable even if not perfect. I enjoyed "all the feels." Clean and contemporary.

On a Coastal Breeze is book #2 in the Three Sisters Island series by Suzanne Woods Fisher. It is fun, light hearted but still has depth to the storyline. The sisters dynamics between each other and their father are always good for a laugh. You can feel the family struggle between love and frustration with each other. As you read through the pages, you will feel right at home on Three Sisters Island. It's a wonderful contemporary read that draws you in and warms your heart. It can be read as a stand alone, but I encourage you to read the previous book. They are worth the time and will put you in good spirits.

When the new Pastor Richard O' Shea, an avid parachutist who loves skydiving, floats down from the sky onto the island, he creates quite a stir. It was only when Madison heard his full name that a bell rang in her mind. As far as Maddie was concerned, Pastor Ricky O'Shea should remain a distant, suppressed, if-not-forgotten memory, not an adventurous skydiver.

Pastor Ricky O'Shea looked exactly as Maddie remembered, dark eyes, a strong, vibrant, dynamic personality, courageous and fearless. But Maddie was older and wiser. Enough of the old turbulent past. Time to grow up and move on.

Ricky was completely comfortable with himself. He fervently hoped Maddie wished him well in his new role as pastor. Over eight years had passed. Time to forgive and forget. Today heralded a brand new start. A clean breeze cleansed Maddie's mind, giving her a fresh start with God's healing power.

And so, when Rick finally proposed, Maddie sensed that God had prepared her to love Rick wholeheartedly with a lasting, mature love. More than that, Maddie knew that if she trusted God with her life and Rick's, she was safe. And so, Maddie said yes, to God and to Rick, confidently trusting that their story would end well in God's hands.

As this lovely story caught hold of my heartstrings, I just had to explain the heart of the story to prospective readers, to urge you to get your own copy to treasure always.

This was a stylistically interesting read. Ms. Fisher does not go down the usual route of a narrative focused on the two main characters. The book covers four POVs - all three sisters (who live on Three Sisters Island :-D, very charmingly depicted by the way) and their father. I think the synopsis could’ve reflected this broader perspective better and prepared the reader a bit more.

At first, it seems like a lot, but then I eased into the flow and actually started enjoying the other narratives - more so even than Madison’s (who is supposed to be the main character) unfortunately. The father’s false starts at a courtship and the youngest sister’s (Blaine) internal battles were the most fascinating.

The writing also came across as choppy at times, especially towards the end. It seems a bit rushed. *Spoiler alert* For instance, it moves from the male protagonist confessing he has a heart disease, to him having a surgery, and then to skydiving and a proposal over the space of the last three/four chapters. For me, the meat of a story is in the pivots and not necessarily in just depicting scenes; so in this regard, the story never quite hit the spot.

It’s a good read that has teed up the next book very nicely. I look forward to reading about Blaine’s love story (with her best friend?). On a Coastal Breeze gets 3 stars from me. I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley and was not required to leave a positive review.
