Thank you to NetGalley for providing a digital ARC.

Bob is about to learn that art is verrrrrryy subjective when a new artist in town supplants him as "the best." While I thought the story was solid and conveyed a good lesson, the font and illustrations were very off-putting. The text was hard to read at times and the style of the character illustrations meant that sometimes the facial expressions didn't match what the text was describing. Also, Owl was not.... owl like. At all. Also, the character seemed to serve no purpose.

Colorful, unique drawings. Text is hand-printed, which is visually appealing but tough for young readers. Characters are active and bright. Plenty of onomatopoeia, which always does well for storytime. Fun made-up words would go over well too.

The story itself is a bit choppy and abrupt for my taste, and the displays come across messy.

Thank you, NetGalley, for a free advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This was a good story about friendship, jealousy, and working together. The message and the story was good. The pictures were bright. A nice story.

This book was so fun! I adored the bright colors and exciting pictures. I loved the talk bubbles by the other characters...my kids love the added commentary in books like this.

The story had a cute lesson of working together instead of being competitive. I liked that in the end they both used their skills to make something great. Overall, it was a great book that I think kids will love and parents won’t mind reading hundreds of times.
