I enjoyed some aspects of this book, such as finding the "club" very endearing and sympathising with the character of Lottie a little at times, too. However, it lacked drama, suspense or plot twists and so I was unable to motivate myself to finish it. Gave up at 62%.

I'm on a contemporary HIGH at the moment! I genuinely didn't know what to expect going into this, but it surpassed it!

The relationships in this really really made me enjoy this!

I adored this book, and quite honestly I could talk about it all day long!.
The relationship between Lottie and her Grandad Teddy is just beautiful, and following their story as their characters grow throughout this book is heartwarming!.

Each character had their own difficulties to overcome throughout, and often the situations they found themselves in at times made me laugh out loud!.

I absolutely adored this book, it was a breath of fresh air to read. I immediately fell in ove with both Lottie & the elderly characters, Lottie the whirlwind, always in a hurry, Teddy mourning the loss of his wife, but wanting to see his grandaughter happy, gets his Gin O'clock club buddies to help him make Lottie realise that family, friends & love are far more important than anything else. I think all of us could learn a lesson from reading this heartwarming story ❤️

This book is just wow! I loved it from the second I finished the first chapter. It’s about real love (family and friendship) pure and simple.
The use of letters from grandad to grandma between chapter breaks really makes the story poignant and heart warming.
I fell in love with the male characters and their empathy and compassion on display but mostly their hilarious escapades. I found it hard to like Lottie but eventually felt sorry for her and was rooting for her to make everything right. It was a refreshing change to see a male lead fight for a relationship too. This is the perfect read if you like romance, comedy and gin

I loved the premise of this book! Young people dating like their grandparents would have and the older generation doing things like Tinder and "Netflix and chill".

The characters are genuinely brilliant! Lottie works hard but has forgotten how to have fun. She takes her relationship with lovely Luke forgranted amd cracks are beginning to show. Her adorable Grandad, Teddy, has been recently widowed and is feeling a bit lost. Together with his 3 best friends, they all form a plan to bring things back from the brink.

Their adventures are fantastic and quite often hilarious. There is so much love and heart contained in these pages, I dare you not to shed a little tear or swoon just a little.

oh wow oh wow! That's how I would describe this book!!! Such a lovely surprise! I didn't know really what to expect and I am so happy that I gave this book a chance! It's a five stars out of five for me! This book is so beautiful!!!!! so so so beautiful! It's all about real love in a long time relationship, but also love between family members and love between friends. This book reminds you that the best way to show the other that you love him or her is to give your time to him or her. Time is the best gift you can give! It made me think and it's so well writen. 5 stars book!!!! EXCELLENT!!!!!!!

Reading about a grandfather's bond with his granddaughter reminded me of my relationship with my grandad, disclose they are. There are some feisty and unforgettable characters in this book mainly the Grandad and his friends, it shows growing old doesn't have to be boring. It was heart warming to read when her grandad want a her to spend more time with her boyfriend but does she have more time or will the relationship fizzle out? There are a few giggles in this story too.

I loved this book, it was easy to read, gentle and a lovely story. I wanted to give Lottie a good shake though and Luke a bit of a slap.
I loved the Grandad throughout the book. The relationship with his pals and the love that shines through is gorgeous.

This is not my usual genre, I’m more into crime/thriller books and even psychological thrillers too so I am extremely pleased and grateful to them for opening up my mind to something totally different.

I loved this book, had me crying within the first chapter. the story was so believable I finished the book within a few days, made me laugh and cry and yep fancy a gin or two now.

I was really looking forward to this read as I loved the hygge holiday and am partial to a gin or two!
Lottie is hectically busy with her job as a barrister, visiting her recently bereaved grandfather teddy and trying to have time left over for her relationship with her boyfriend Luke!having no time for herself, her relationship,her best friend of her grandfather makes Lottie unhappy, irritable and not nice to be around! Her gorgeous grandfather teddy hatches a plan with his best friends to inject some happiness and romance back into Lottie and Luke’s life! Modelling the dates/experiences on things he and his beloved wife Cora had enjoyed, with the help of the gin o clock club! What follows is a sweet, humorous tale which makes you look at the simpler things in life particularly poignant in these challenging times! A good light hearted read.

A wonderful love story of Luke and Lottie. The story deals with the pressures of modern day life and how easy it is to lose track of the things that really matter. I really enjoyed this well written feel good story.

Hilarious. Awesome book. I'm a bit fan of Rosie Blake and this is one of her best. Totally down-to-earth cool characters. Lots of hi-jinks. I just loved it!

A heart warming story following an endearing relationship between a grandfather and his granddaughter following the tragic loss of their much loved wife/grandmother.

Not the most usual relationship to follow through a story, but it captures you from the start and you become fully invested as a reader to ensure the relationship blossoms and weathers each storm which is uncovered in the plot.

The main love story through the novel
Is really captivating too...with a male lead who I think just about anyone would fall in love with! Add in a group of loveable old rogues (The Grandad’s gang of friends) and a touching rhetoric with the deceased Cora...this is a novel which I found unputdownable!

The story of Luke and Lottie is a wonderful , if bittersweet one. Taking in the pressures of modern life and watching how easy it is to get side-tracked and lose the focus of what really matters. You get so caught up in the characters it is hard not to get involved with everyone!

A lovely book, well written and a good read. Highly recommended.
