What a lovely read! Despite not having read the first book in series (I do have it, just never managed to slot it in!) this is a fabulous stand-alone read.
Aria and her friend Rosie are about to travel with the Van Lifers, heading to France for the summer. If there's one thing Aria is certain of, it's that she's not looking for romance; she's had the one true love of her life and doesn't want another. Until she meets Jonathan and finds that her feelings seem to be thawing out . . .
I love the thought of travelling around as Aria and Rosie do - although, in all honesty, I'd never do it myself. It's a wonderful way to see the sights and make a living at the same time! Be prepared to have the tissues close to hand with this one though - there are a few teary moments in amongst the joy and laughter. A very touching novel, beautifully written and hitting all the right notes. I've really enjoyed this one and it is well worth four stars.
My thanks to the publisher for my copy via NetGalley; this is - as always - my honest, original and unbiased review.
Thank you to @netgalley for the gifted ebook in exchange for an honest review.
I wasn’t sure how much I would enjoy this one as it normally bothers me not to have read the first book, as the context always helps. But I soon fell in to the world of Aria and Rosie, and loved their friendship. Unveiling the story of TJ was also written very tastefully, and revealed at the perfect point in the book.
It’s a very refreshing read, but not without references to life’s troubles either.
The only thing that bothered me was how many times Aria referred to being a nomad. It got a little repetitive but I do understand that it’s part of her lifestyle so it’s bound to be a big part of the story!
I re-read the previous book, Rosie's travelling tea shop, so that I could remember what happened first. Following on with Aria and her lovely bookshop was a delight. Some of the same characters, ie Max, appeared, some new ones.
So much of this book dwells on grief and loss, for Aria. Wondered at one point if there was a tiny bit too much emphaisis. But her realisation that life has to go on was very touching, as was a reconciliation.
A delightful book. Thank you NetGalley for a freview copy.
A light and lovely read. I thought this was well written, the characters and relationships were believable and the plot kept moving. Thoroughly enjoyable, I will read the first one!
I read the first book in this series a while ago and really enjoyed it so I was pleased to be sent a copy of this book to review. This story centres and Aria and her travelling book shop as she travels around France with the other van lifers and her friend Rosie from book 1. It was a lovely easy read to lose myself in, sad in some places and funny in others. I really enjoyed it and thankyou to netgalley for the review copy.
I absolutely loved Rosie's Travelling Tea Shop, and when I heard that Rebecca Raisin had written a sequel I was so excited to read it, and it certainly didn't disappoint. It felt like coming home to old friends and catching up on their lives.
Aria hasn't got over losing her husband, and love of her life TJ to cancer a few years before. Her mother in law, who was more like a mother to her resents her for 'taking away' TJ to the Lake District before he died (at his request). However she does send Aria his diary as per his request - only 3 years late!
Aria's best friend Rosie runs the tea shop van, and is forever making up delicious herbal infusions, and the most delicious cakes, and Aria I'd more than happy to try them for her. However, Rosie is no longer single, as she is dating Max who runs a van selling vegan juices. The three of them get on beautifully and pull together, however just occasionally Aria does feel lonely, and misses TJ terribly. In the time before TJ's death she promises him she won't be with anyone else, but he tells her he wants her to find love. However, the only live she can handle are inside the romance novels in her campervan.
When Aria gets tipsy, and joins in with Karaoke, she end up falling off the stage and into the arms of Jonathan, who stirs up feelings she thought were finished for her. When the opportunity arises for Aria, Rosie and Max to join the 'VanLifers' in a journey across France, they accept with enthusiasm, and Aria thinks that is the end for her and the mysterious Jonathan. Sometimes the universe has a mind of its own.
This book swallowed me whole from the moment I started reading, and sucked me into another world. Obviously as a bookworm from way back, I could relate to Aria, and I already loved Rosie from the previous book. This is not a book for those that like murder, gore, and fast paced action. If you like a beautiful story, great characterisation, and beautiful description then this is for you.
I haven't read much from this author before but the cover drew me in as well as the synopsis. It was so interesting and different to what I usually read with it's storyline about travelling bookshops, teashops and camper vans! It was a fun and easy read and at the end I felt uplifted. I really enjoyed reading this, and will look out for more by this author in the future.
OMG brilliant. Captured from page one!
Aria is living life on the road, in her mobile bookshop. Aria is grief filled and determined to follow the promise she made 3 years previously to her dying husband.
Can Aria follow the stages of grief to live her life again?
Well written and an easy read.
Praise for Rebecca Raisin.
In this second book of the travelling series, friends Aria and Rosie travel together to France with Rosie's boyfriend Max.
The three each have their own niche van lifer business, Aria a bookseller, Rosie an alchemist tea maker and Max a vegan health food and drink business.
Along their travels around France, Rosie and Max get a shock, Aria gets a surprise in the post and frenemy on their route, Tori tries to stir up trouble once again.
But nothing can prepare Aria for her future as she bumps into Jonathan again and thanks to Rosie finds a bookish surprise awaiting her...
Wow another wonderful adventure just what every summer needs especially with the company of books and this blossoming loves story was tentative and tenderly evolved a fabulous read!
Many thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them!
Wow. I loved this story set in a bookshop in a camper van (although the mind boggles). I’ll admit I was unsure at first as the nomad life is my idea of hell but by the end of this book I was indulging in nomadic daydreams of a life travelling (so kudos to Rebecca Raison there:)). I found the relationships between characters heart-warming and even the terrible Tori had a softer side and I warmed to her eventually. Aria’s story was a real emotional journey and although I was routing for the wonderful Jonathan I could fully understand her reluctance to move on. The use of TJ’s diary added another emotional depth to this story and I’ll admit I shed a tear or two before the end. The descriptions of France and the towns and cities on route were fabulous and I found myself looking up some of the places to see them for myself. Upon finishing this book I immediately downloaded Rosie’s Travelling Tea Shop and two other Rebecca Raison books. I do hope they’ll be another in the series.
Many thanks to the publishers and Netfalley for this book.
This was a delightful book to read. The book is unusually set in the world of travelling camper vans, travelling bookshops, tea shops, etc. The two main characters Aria and Rosie are equally delightful. The book is an unashamed romance but it is also great fun. I loved the descriptions of the characters, the environment and the plot. It is so much more than a romance it is a great enjoyable read.
Oh wow brilliant book. If rosies traveling tea shop made me want to go and do what they do this book makes it harder to not just disappear in a camper van.
I love the fact that the story is not just a lovely dovey story but also glad it has a happy ending I didn't want it to end.
I want to go into arias book an just to see what books I can find and then go over to rosies for hummus so glad this story had both girls in I want to know what happens next, what sex is the baby, do aria and her man make a go of it living in her van.
This book makes this sort of life sound fantastic.
Well done Rebecca raisin fantastic book. Please keep up the brilliant work
This was such a lovely book. Aria and Rosie are great friends and enjoy a nomadic life travelling with their vans to markets and festivals. Rosie has a book shop on wheels and is drawn to other book shops and book lovers. They are traveling through France and you can feel the magic of their travelling life and romance sparkles in the air.
It deals with past heartbreak, close friendships, romance and travel. You really feel as though you are going along on the journey.
It would be lovely to read a follow on book!
Where do I even start with this book?! It’s one of those books that sucks you in super quickly and Aria is the most wonderful leading lady and is a HUGE bookworm. I related to her so much with her love for books, and I’d love a camper van to travel round in and sell books 💕 it sounds perfect! ⠀
⠀
I LOVE that’s she’s a book sniffer.....it made me smile the biggest smile 😀 ⠀
⠀
The story of friendship and companionship amongst the people she meets on her travels is just wonderful, and as for Jonathan..... I think he’s my dream man.⠀
⠀
A wonderful book that provided me with exactly what I needed......pure escapism. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5 from me 💕⠀

I wanted to like this more, was SO ready to - I loved the premise, but found Aria’s Travelling Bookshop to be just ‘OK’. No more, no less - it didn’t rock my world but neither did I struggle to finish it.
To be fair, I don’t pick up a lot of romantic fiction, so when I do I set the bar really high and expect quite a lot. Unfortunately, this time round I was left wanting, it felt a bit superficial, lacking in character development and all the amazing areas of France visited were just glossed over. I wanted to feel like I was there and I just didn’t- not my cup of tea I’m afraid.
Thanks to Netgalley for providing an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.
Aria is taking her travelling book shop around France after losing her husband TJ to cancer 3 years ago. She meets Jonathon is a writer after having too many glasses of wine and falling straight into his arms. She feels something for Jonathon but can she put TJ to rest and make a life with Jonathon.
A great story of love and loss.
If you’re looking for a lighthearted, pure escapism read then why not follow Aria with her travelling bookshop and fellow nomads as they wend their way through France? Relax in this gentle, romantic, happy ever after read and immerse yourself in the historic streets of Rouen, visit a chateau or two or simply soak up the sun in the Mediterranean hotspots of Nice and St.Tropez.
Imagine yourself sitting with Aria and best friend Rosie, sipping exotically blended tea, or browsing Aria’s bookshop in search of a hidden gem. Indulge your senses in the sights whilst you inhale the smells of gloriously baked fresh bread or patisseries or perhaps sample one of Max’s healthy smoothies. Then simply take a deep breath and relax into this cozy tale of Aria’s latest adventures which see her questioning her ability and her right to fall in love again three years after the death of her beloved TJ.
You can’t help but like Aria, especially if you too are a bibliophile and although the storyline is as predictable as night following day, it is lovely comfort reading that’s perfect for die hard romantics who expect a happy ending. Sometimes it’s easier to escape into a world of fiction rather than face reality and Aria is certainly guilty of this. With the prospect of finding love again with writer Johnathan, Aria is forced to confront her grief, her broken relationship with TJ’s family and explore the possibility that love can bloom when you least expect it. Wrapped up in all the fluffiness is important advice about moving on and laying aside guilt at being the one left behind which does bring a tear to the eye. Reading TJ’s long lost diary is finally enough to convince Aria that it’s perfectly acceptable to live, laugh, smile and perhaps fall in love again.
I’ll confess this is my first Rebecca Raisin read and despite some eye rolling during parts of the narrative, it’s well written, funny, touching and heartwarming. The other characters are rather one dimensional but maybe to be expected as they are only in the background of what really is Aria’s and Rosie’s story. This sweet novel did make me yearn (only for a minute!) for their nomadic lifestyle which for them is idyllic but then it is only fictional. What more could any reader want in these troubling times? I will seek out previous titles in this series, happy to have discovered a delightful, relatable character who can cheer me up when I feel the need to reach for another ‘comfort’ read. Enjoyable but slightly cheesy hence my overall review of 3.5 stars.
My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to read in exchange for an honest review.
I love the idea of "vanlife" although I am not so sure I would cope with the realities!
Life in a van full of books sounds idyllic, although it is actually Aria's escape from her reality, drifting aorund the countryside (both English and French) with a gaggle of like minded people selling their wares and experiencing life at a slower pace.
Aria travels with Rosie and Dan for the most part although a couple of other vanlifers appear here and there and a certain handsome stranger seems to be around every corner.
This is a lovely love story with some great countryside and a bunch of characters I would love to meet at a festival somewhere in France and although the plot is formulaic to an extent the journey the characters take (both literally and metaphorically) is a beautiful one with sadness and tension as well as romance and is well worth an afternoon of feet up in the sunshine with a glass of something chilled by your side!
I loved this book. It was just the right amount of heartbreak and hope, beautifully written and what better heroin than a fellow bookworm. I have already bought the prequel by the author and will be recommending this book to friends and family. My favourite book from netgalley to date.
With thanks to Netgalley for allowing me to review this book.
Aria's Traveling book shop is a over all good read, that I enjoyed,
