The plot is well written with great characters. The pace is slow at the beginning but then picks up and it quickly becomes a page turner
This is number 7 in a series but can be read as a standalone

A Can Of Worms....
Book seven in the Tyrone Swift Detective series and Swift has an intriguing case. When two sisters are attacked on a ferry Swift is asked to investigate and a can of worms is opened. At the same time Swift is juggling his own more personal issues. With credible characters and a solid storyline this is a good read although perhaps this plot a little thinner than others in the series with Swift’s personal life also becoming somewhat overbearing!

An intense drama filled package, where secrets that were long buried deep came to light. It caused a
stirring which drew a lot of haters for Swift, but he determined and kept on as he moved through the sickly packets of secrets. An intriguing and interesting Swift mystery, which was very entertaining.

This is the seventh book in the series featuring Private Investigator Tyrone Swift but was the first one I had read but found it fine as a stand-alone. This is a story about three sisters. Orla enlists the help of Tyrone, who is a distant cousin, to help solve the mystery regarding her two sisters Kelly and Faith. They were on their way home on the ferry from Dublin to London. Kelly was killed by being pushed over a railing into the sea and Faith was brutally assaulted and left unconscious. No one knows who attacked them and it has also left Faith with terrible memory loss and a feeling of guilt as she can’t help find the murderer. Tyrone contacts Faith and gets her agreement to look into the case. On further investigation he finds that Kelly was not who she seemed to be and had plenty of enemies. We also find that there are problems in Tyrone’s personal life. This book has a lot of red herrings and twists and turns and is a highly recommended read.
Thanks to Netgalley and Joffe Books for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

When sisters Kelly and Faith Dwyer are on a ferry crossing from Ireland Faith is attacked and her sister is thrown overboard and drowned. Detective Tyrone Swift is on holiday with his daughter in Ireland when he is asked to help find out who attacked the sisters.
The damage done to Faith by the attacker takes a long time and she helps Tyrone in his investigation where they discover that Kelly was not quite as innocent as first thought.
A good read where Detective Tyrone Swift takes the investigation through many twists and turns. Looking forward to reading more from Gretta Mulrooney.

Thank you Gretta Mulrooney, NetGalley and Joffee Books for allowing me to read and review this ARC. This is entirely my own opinion.

I think this is the first book where I wanted to set up a murder board. There were so many potential suspects! I was visualizing it in my head.

Tyrone Swift is a private investigator in London of good fame and lots of qualifications. He has handled many cases in his PI career some extremely close to home for him. This story is about a distant relative that was murdered and her sister who was attacked at the same time but lived. Albeit with amnesia and brain damage. He is asked to help find the killer.

The girl left suffering memory issues is Faith, a shadow follower to her sister Kelly, the vivacious, alcoholic who was killed. Swift has a soft spot for Faith and wants to help if he can. He becomes a protecter and helps Faith try to get her back into life even with her issues.

Swift has many personal challenges at the time, past entanglements trying to cause havoc in his life and career, a relationship with a woman who just isn't in to children and he has a 3 years old deaf daughter and the childs mother had left their relationship for another man.

Tyrone has to eliminate suspects and that is hard since Kelly had so many people who she caused trouble for.

I found the book a quick read but dragged a bit. You wanted to read it to find out who of all the possible suspects did kill her and almost kill Faith. It wasn't a suspense type book but you didn't know who the killer was quickly you had to wait and let the author reveal enough information to guess.

I give it a 3 as it was easy to put down and didn't have "the 'dangle" at the end of each chapter eager to see what's next. I want to look up to the main character as capable and strong and Swift who is really a nice person seemed to be kinda pushed around by the women in his life. He has a delightful daughter though! It is worth you checking it out.

"Her Lost Sister" by Gretta Mulrooney is the seventh book in the Detective Tyrone Swift series and is actually the first one that I have read! I'm a newbie! To be honest with you, I went in with low expectations simply because it's been ages since I liked a psychological thriller or a crime fiction this much. I'm probably going to read the first six books in the coming weeks because now I want to know more about Ty and little Branna. I NEED TO.

Detective Swift gets asked by the oldest Dwyer sister Orla, to look into an accident that occurred on the Dublin to Liverpool ferry to her sister Kelly, who lost her life, and their youngest sister Faith, who survived but doesn't remember anything about what happened that night and is now a damaged little thing. The Police don't have a clue about what might have happened and how both sisters acquired head traumas.

It's a plot that is written and developed brilliantly, and I was hooked from the first few pages until the last one. I tried to guess who was behind the murder and attempted murder but trust me when I say that it took me by surprise and you won't see it coming! The author created characters that feel so real, and their dialogues make you care about them more and more each page. It was a great read from start to finish, I enjoyed those little moments between Ty and Branna, but I absolutely adored those scenes between Ty and Faith, I hope their relationship develops and becomes a beautiful lasting friendship because the big brother bit at the end? I felt that scene in my bones. Looking forward to the next book! I'm now A FAN.

This is book number 7 in the popular series about Tyrone Swift, the ex-Met policeman turned private investigator, and starts with him holidaying in Connemara, West Ireland where he has been asked by his Aunt Maura to visit a distant relative who has recently suffered a family tragedy. Orla Black had two sisters - Kelly Dwyer was attacked and then drowned after being pushed over the side of the ferry crossing back to Liverpool. The other sister, Faith Black, was also attacked, possibly with a hammer but survived with dreadful memory problems. So Orla feels like she has effectively lost both her sisters in different ways and asks Ty to pick up the investigation where the police have failed to find anything. Ty's life is still as complicated as ever. He has a three year old daughter Branna, the result of a one night stand with Ruby, the lady he was once engaged to but then lost to another man. He has personally survived a dreadful attack and people close to him have died as he has pursued his investigations. Presently he is being hounded and bad-mouthed by the jailed girlfriend of the son of his former lodger who is contesting his father's will. Nothing in his life is simple and that isn't even accounting for his present girlfriend, Nora (Nasty Nora I call her) a Met detective who is selfish and totally unsuited to a man with a child with hearing loss who needs to be his priority. I hope he sees sense at some point! Now in some cases it might be hard for a detective to find suitable motives or suspects but that is definitely not the case in the death of Kelly. He is knee deep in suspects. The woman seemed to leave a trail of enemies and upset people wherever she went, either from her excessive drinking or her way of interfering in people's lives. Ty is spoilt for choice as he delves deeper into what happened aboard that ferry on the Irish Sea. It's a great story with loads of red herrings and trails that lead nowhere, and Ty has to run each one to ground doggedly in his search for the truth. Well written, great characters and an ending that surprised me very nicely! 4.5*

Her Lost Sister is the seventh instalment in the Private Investigator Tyrone Swift series, this time set between London and Ireland. We all know that work and home lives don't mix that well and should be kept apart at all costs as an investigator yet Tyrone, whilst on holiday visiting relatives in Ireland, is corralled into taking a case by them. Sisters Kelly and Faith were mercilessly attacked as they made their way from Dublin, Ireland, to their homes in London via the Liverpool ferry. Whilst onboard Kelly was pushed over the railing plunging into the frigid sea below and Faith so viciously assaulted that she was knocked unconscious. The issues this caused to her memory becomes quite the headache for Tyrone but not only has Faith had to come to terms with her sister's murder she feels horrified that she was a witness and can't help point them in the right direction. This means Tyrone works extra rigorously to try to get to the bottom of who wanted to hurt them as the brutality of the crime hints to Ty that this was deeply personal in nature.

This was an enjoyable and entertaining mystery and although it started a little slower than usual it soon hit the ground running and had me hooked. I was keen to read as much as I possibly could as I was intrigued to discover what was going on so it can easily be said that Ms Mulrooney has penned another compelling and addictive tale. There were a few good twists, a thrilling story and some reveals based on the seemingly troubled past of victim Kelly. Although this is the seventh instalment it can easily be read as a standalone as enough backstory is provided. Tyrone and the heartwarming relationship he has with his deaf child, Branna, is one of the aspects of this series that keeps me returning time and time again. If you've enjoyed Gretta Mulrooney’s books in the past then I can safely say that you'll find more of her flowing writing and well-constructed plots within these pages. Many thanks to Joffe Books for an ARC.

I do love the Tyrone Swift series it is different in that it is a PI solving the cases that the police couldn't and because he is a PI he doesn't have access to the information the Police do and therefore has to resort to good old fashioned detective work talking to people and trawling through the information he does have. They make for a very intriguing read and Her Lost Sister is another brilliant addition to the series.

Two sisters on a ferry one stormy night. One is found drowned the other with a debilitating brain injury. Because they are relatives of Tyrone he agrees to investigate and find out what happened. The investigation takes him on a twisty turny journey through the life of Kelly, a recovering alcoholic who left behind her several people with very good reason to want her to come to harm but is that enough for them to kill?

Several possible attackers and only 2 people know the truth one is dead and the other has amnesia. Tyrone has his work cut out. To add to his troubles he has his daughter to take into account and the ongoing situation with Oliver plus a very stormy relationship with Nora.

A lot going on and even more to keep the pages turning. This is a brilliant read that will appeal to all readers of Crime Fiction.

This is the 7th book in the Tyrone Swift series. I hadn't read any of the other books in the series yet, but didn't find that taking away from my enjoyment of this book. I was invested in the subplots as much as the main plotline, which shows what a great writer the author is.

Tyrone Swift #7

Tyrone Swift has been asked by a distant relative to look into the murder of her sister and the attempted murder of another sister when they were on a ferry six months ago. Ty is an ex-cop. He now a PI who takes on cases the police are no longer investigating. Ty is also trying to keep his difficult relationship with his girlfriend on track and keep the peace with his ex-wife.

Thenstory revolves around the three sisters. Kelly had drowned, Faith had survived and Orla wants justice for her dead sister. It seems Kelly had ma y enemies who would have liked to see her dead. The pace is slow to begin with but it's not, long before it quickens and houll find yourself quickly turning the pages. I didn't guess who the culprit wa, there were many to choose from. It's also filled with red herrings. Although this is the seventh book in this series ut can e read as a standalone.

I would like to thank NetGalley, Joffe Books and the author Greta Mulrooney for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

What a premise… 2 sisters on a feet crossing. Bothwere hit by an unknown assailant on their heads by a hammer. Kelly was thrown overboard, and Faith left for dead. She had no memory when she got up. Private investigator Tyrone was asked to investigate.

My first book by author Gretta Mulrooney, a smooth slow burner of a suspense where each reveal of the investigation brought its own subplot. The writing had depth and built up the suspense with a surety. Suspects were many who wanted the sisters dead, the author’s broad strokes showed the deeper links to them. They were quite complex, and I was left guessing.

Tyrone was a cool dude, he moved sure-footedly with great confidence. The mystery was quite twisted to keep me hooked to it. My first book, though eighth in the series, I could read it easily due to Tyrone. He made the story come alive. And I wanted nothing more than to get to the final reveal.

Quite a captivating read.
