A fantastic (fictional) take on the darker side of fame and how easily people can be duped and lied to under the guise of love. Terrifying yet enthralling from page to page, it kept me guessing all the way.
Teenage rebellion, fame and betrayal, this book has it all.

A great psychological thriller with lots of twists and turns to keep you reading.

Lorna won’t tell her daughter who her father is because he is a monster. But one day liberty finds out who he is and goes to meet him.

The story goes between present day to the past as the story unfolds then you start to get the story from liberty’s side as she finally meets the man who is her father.

The ending was not what I was expecting. I read this book in a day. Thank you netgalley for letting me read this book.

This book. Is amazing. The story is epic and unlike anything I have read before, it's a thriller with so many twists you get dizzy trying to second guess what's going to happen next.
I couldnt predict and ended up reading it in a day, could not put it down. The need to know is overpowering who is lying surely Lorna the mother cant be crazy... LIBERTY the unruly teenager. It's a masterpiece of genius that's truly a gripping read.

Suzy K Quinn is known for her Bad Mother books, and this could be called the Bad Father book! I was thrilled to be asked to review it, and boy was I not disappointed! As the story unfolds you’ll have to concentrate as one by one, the characters are not who you believe them to be. There’s one final twist at the end which makes perfect sense. I absolutely loved this book, and would give it ten stars if possible!!

First impressions of Not My Daughter - I love the cover and the blurb sounds explosive!
I read in one sitting, perfect sized book for escaping the world for a few hours. It just didn’t work for me...

My main issue with this story is it’s unbelievable. Also you’re told that a character is evil, there’s nothing nice about them. Blah blah blah. Show me some evil, I’m bored.
While a relationship with an underage Lorna is bad it doesn’t relate to the other “evil” things at all. Lorna comes across as paranoid.
I hated the characters. Lorna was ridiculous. Liberty was a cliche. I hate when authors stereotype characters like this, she was arrogant and annoying.

Suzy K Quinn... I’m sorry. I read your authors note and I hope my review doesn’t make you cry! I just feel there’s some things that need work.

Thank you to Netgalley for the free copy in exchange for an honest review! Not My Daughter tackles rough subjects in an appropriate manner, all the while staying thrilling and unpredictable throughout. I loved the plot's pacing and nature, the twists fulfilling and the conclusion ultimately satisfying. I did find the characters hit and miss: aside from Liberty (who I loved!) they were mostly hit and miss which made it tough for me to root for them in the first half of the book. This does get better later on though so I'm glad I kept reading! Sometimes the dialogue did feel a little unrealistic for me personally but the narrative was handled well and didn't fall into the realms of completely absurd. Not My Daughter is well thought out and written, most importantly an absolute thriller.

Another fantastic, thrilling and gripping read for Suzy. This book was extremely addictive and I read it within one day - the characters had such interesting backgrounds and it was really great going back and fourth between the past and the present. This book contains sex, rock and roll, abuse, murder and a whole lot of manipulation. You don't want to miss out!

I’d not come across Suzy K Quinn before reading this book. Safe to say it won’t be the last.
The book was so addictive that it got read in a day. So what if in places it was a little far fetched.

What you do get is a gripping book. With all the sex, rock and roll. Plus abuse, murder and mind games thrown in for good measure. Told in the form of current day and flashbacks.

Anyone who picks up this book with come to admire Liberty and Lorna.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the arc in return for an honest review

Lorna would like to keep her daughter Liberty under lock and key. She is terrified that her ex, Liberty’s father will find them and ruin the life they have built together. Liberty, a precocious teenager has other ideas.

This book was a great read. It was predictable in places, but there were enough twists and turns to keep me completely gripped. The author does a great job in making the characters believable. I was very taken with Michael- even though we knew he was bad news I could feel his magnetism and see how skilfully he operated.

(SPOILER HERE!!!) The ending is skilfully written and while I’ve never met a 16 year old who could pull something like that off, it did make for a surprising twist.

If you enjoy a thriller, you’ll enjoy this. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for my copy of this book.

Now this is one hell of a read. I could not put it down for a second and whizzed through it in an afternoon (sorry family).

A fantastic psychological thriller that will have you constantly guessing right up until the end.

Written in alternate times and narratives it was totally unpredictable, fast paced, captivating and full of suspense.

I loved the way it leads you down this twisty turny and complex path ending in a really satisfactory ending.

Touching on tough subjects of domestic violence, manipulation, abuse, underage sex and murder.. Suzy Quinn has once again blew me away with her ability to weave things together so beautifully.

The characters are full of complexities and you can actually feel the raw emotion as the story unfolds.

The quotes from fairytales work brilliantly and especially come together towards the end!

A huge thank you to netgalley and HQ for the ARC.

Thank you net galley for giving me the opportunity to read this book for an honest opinion about what I though about it.
I enjoyed it very much and got quite carried away by the end Greg.
Lorna was always terrified that her daughter liberty would be taken away from her.
She built high fences around her house, and always wanted to,know where liberty was and what time she would be home.
Until the day Liberty wanted to know about her father, and that terrified Lorna, and she knew she would lose her daughter..to him.
This was a good story and a really exciting end glad.
Well done Suzy K Quinn, look forward to reading another one of your books.

A gripping book alternating between the past and the present. I loved it and would recommend it very highly

Lorna has good reasons not to tell her teenage daughter, Liberty, who her father is.
Having barely escaped with their lives, all she's ever wanted was for him never to find them.
But when Liberty manages to discover his identity by herself and runs away to meet him, Lorna, frantic with fear for her daughter, will stop at nothing to get her back from her father's monstrous clutches.

The story follows Lorna's perspective and is interspersed with Liberty's point of view.
It was my second thriller from Suzy K Quinn and I wasn't disappointed.
The story was gripping, fast-paced and suspenseful, and had me racing through it.
However, I found some of the dialogue a bit fake and the ending, even though surprising and unexpected, seemed slightly implausible.
Nevertheless, I decided to put those faults aside as the book had me at the edge of my seat throughout, and that is the most important box a book needs to tick.
If you've never heard of Suzy K Quinn, I urge you to check her out, and if you've read her previous thrillers, then you can't miss this one.

I was hooked from the opening chapter. Lorna Miller and her sister, Dee, go to register the birth of a new baby, but it's obvious that something is amiss. Fast forward to sixteen years later, where Lorna seems settled with her boyfriend, Nick,, his young daughter, Darcy and her daughter, Liberty.

The story alternates between the past and present and the author gradually divulges the puzzle pieces for the reader to put together. We learn how young Lorna becomes involved with her idol, Michael Reyji Ray. Sixteen years later, she has a strained relationship with Liberty, who is keen to locate her biological father.

I love the way the author intersperses the prose with 'once upon a time' and quotes from fairy-tales and also the significance of 'The little mermaid' book later on and the victims in a turret like Rapunzel. There were some lovely moments where Liberty interacts with Darcy, who has special needs. I particularly liked the ending where everything becomes clear.

I felt she captured the essence of the characters very well and moved between them with ease.

This is the fist book I've read by Suzy K. Quinn and I will definitely be looking to read more of her work.

A sincere thank you to the publisher, author and Netgalley for providing me with an ebook copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This is not my usual genre, I’m more into romance stories and girlie books therefore am extremely pleased and grateful to them for opening up my mind to something totally different.

I enjoyed this very much. 4 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟
