It didn't surprise me much because I've read such kind of books before. A famous musician left his love and a little girl before and now that little girl is grown up and wants to meet her dad but the situation is not what it seems.
The story is able to surprise at only a few places while rest is simple and plain with no suspense. Although it's a one time read.
Thanks to NetGalley and HQ for giving me an advance copy.

Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy. While I think some aspects of this book were predictable (how a relationship with someone famous would play out), there was a lot of suspense and shocks at the end.

Lorna is a teenager who has had cancer and on her bucket list was to see her favourite rock band and marry the lead singer, Michael. Lorna gets to meet Michael and falls for him blind to the abuse, neglect and secrets he hides she gives everything up for him. Fast forward 16 years and her daughter, Liberty, wants to meet her father but Lorna has to stop this as he is not the man she thinks.
Wow, this was a cracker of a read. Although it contains abuse and domestic violence it was done well within the story. Another fantastic book from Suzy! Can I also point out the dedication to the nhs and key workers in the current situation was beautiful too!
Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

This book tackles difficult dark subjects such as psychological and mental torture, physical abuse, manipulation, underage sex and murder and is dark and menacing in places yet chilling, creepy and addictive at the same time! It will keep you on the edge of your seat you won’t want to put it down, the complexities of the main characters are astounding and it’s difficult to work out how the book will end it kept me gripped right till
