This satire is a look at the publishing world in London during the 1990s.

The book, while amusing at points, does not seem to be honestly aimed at a global audience. Those with a deep knowledge of British culture will find some of the allusions and descriptions amusing, but for those without it, the book becomes a bit more of a slog to work through. The writing style, while a satire of how the publishing industry tends to view itself as a whole, does not come off as approachable to the average reader.

The sly fun the author pokes at himself is a nice touch of comic writing. The situations the characters find themselves in are both amusing and at times depressing.

This work does a very nice turn of writing when discussing the nature of literary endings, as well as how joke books are not usually very funny, or original in and of themselves.

Some readers of PG Wodehouse and other British satirists might enjoy this work.

I just couldn't get into this one due to the writing style and could not find a hook into the plot.

I appreciate the review copy!

Ummm, I don't know what to say about this book . It is like a bad imitation of P. G. Wodehouse and The Thick of It [ yup the TV show ] . The prose and narrative didn't flow smoothly . The book can better , though!!
