I love a "knew you in a past life" trope. It is one of my favourites and this book does such a good job delivering.

Elle Spencer is an amazing author and this is one of my favourite top ten books of all time. I laughed, cried and felt emotionally drained by the end. But a book that has such a profound effect on the reader shouldn't be missed.

Disappointingly I didn’t really enjoy this latest story by Elle. I’m not sure what’s happened to her writing but this just lacked the great storytelling I’m used to from this author. I found the characters and their development/journey disappointing, I didnt think it flowed that well and while I normally love banter, I actually think there was too much in this story, so much that it lost its impact. And most other reviews touch on the ending, so I’ll will just concur and say I agree with what has already been written, badly written ending!

I don't know what I was expecting...but this was not it.
I enjoyed the first 40% or so and was leaning towards a 3 star, enjoyable but not memorable fun.
Characters weren't developed enough, the plot and conflict was just....weirdly handled.
There were too many side plots and side characters who needed to have something happen to them, like a lot of it added nothing to the story. I did enjoy the teacher's side plot though....but again, not really a part of the story. Nothing was handled well, all the adult characters were acting far younger than they were. So many little things just added up to annoy me because they just seemed to be thrown in for a little bit of conflict but not really addressed again? And then we got to the first use of the word panties which was used over and over and over again and just 🤢 so if you don't have a problem with that word...it might work well for you.

An awe inspiring romance that will make you believe in soulmates.
Lindsay’s entire world is altered when she experiences her past life and her past love. Years later when she meets Ren she instantly knows Ren is the same person even though she looks nothing like the woman who haunts her dreams. Ren is looking for a drama free vacation before she moves to Paris, until she meets Lindsay.
The attraction is intense for both of them and while its exciting and irresistible it is also seemingly hopeless. The magnetic pull between them is powerful and unexplainable. There is so much delicious and also bitter tension that is so strong you can feel it.
The characters are delightful and hilarious. This story is often heavy and emotionally charged but the characters lighten the mood considerably with witty banter and whimsical personalities. Also nicknames galore. Mrs. Stokely is a gift and her story was surprising and heartwarming.
The depth of the emotional connections fuels the already palpable chemistry between Lindsay and Ren which dialed the romance to an eleven. Its passionate, all consuming, and sexy as hell.
This story is the perfect amalgamation of playful and intense. Spencer has done a phenomenal job giving this story a momentous feel while also keeping a jovial atmosphere.
This is a story of a love that transcends life and is truly a wonder to experience.

This book is an absolute delight!! It’s the kind of book readers want to reread. The writing is top-notch. The romance is beautiful. The secondary characters are amazing. The dialog is exquisite. Bottom line—this is a book every lesfic romance reader will want to add to their collection.

Spencer sets this romance up splendidly. She feeds readers bits and pieces. She makes things seem a bit mysterious and intriguing, fueling the imagination and interest. Before readers know it, they are so engrossed in Spencer’s lovely narrative, they can’t stop.

The main characters are perfectly matched and very compelling. They have chemistry and heat. Readers immediately like them, and they like them together. They are believable and relatable in ways that are always appealing in romance novels.

Most noteworthy, however, is Spencer’s use of secondary characters. She really shines here. Spencer creates an ensemble with her characters, giving the story arc such dimension and interest. Theses characters are relatable and help facilitate a connection to the storytelling. But most importantly, they all work to drive the romance forward and bring it home.

The dialog in Waiting for You is phenomenal. It is witty, fresh and entertaining. Spencer knows how to use it to advance the narrative and the character arc. It is charming and has the ability to leave readers smiling.

I highly recommend this book. It is a completely entertaining and adorable romance. It’s one that all romance readers can enjoy.

I liked the book bit though it was kind off to slow passed which made me pause and close the book more than one. Which I usually don't do as I try to read my books in one go.

Good story. Elle Spencer always managers to write the type of stories that really draw you into what is going on throughout the pages.

OMG, this book was so good! I can't believe there's less than 300 ratings as of today. Right here is a F/F gem you all need to check out. Only if reincarnated soulmates with great chemistry sounds good to you, of course.

Waiting for you is about Lindsay and Ren. One is visiting her friend before going to Paris for her work. One is a local artist who for some reason, gets those vivid dreams about a woman but also a boy and she knows in her heart that she lived a past life with them. So when she meets her lost soul-mate in the present time, she faints at the sight of her. Obviously, she doesn't want to scare Ren and appear like a strange crazy woman so she doesn't tell her right away and prefers to get to know her before doing or saying anything. Right from the start, the chemistry and tension was there and I was all for it. I also loved the side characters even though Patty (Lindsay's best friend) was a bit too possessive at times.

Also, I know I had the e-book version but I was so behind on my arcs I bought the audiobooks of some of them to get through them easily. If you have the chance, pick the audio because the narrator did a great job and I'll probably listen to more f/f romances narrated by her in the future <3

I really enjoyed this novel and would recommend it. I thought it was a very original plot. I thought the characters were very likeable. I like that small town life is portrayed in such an endearing way. Another aspect of the book I enjoyed is how supportive best friends can be and how meaningful friendships are. I appreciated the way that queerness is perceived through the eyes of different generations. I also enjoyed how strong and close the mother daughter relationship is and how supportive they were of each other.

I like to think I'm not influenced by ratings from other people when giving my own rating, but I do use them to determine if I want to read a book myself. This book came with good ratings and as I don't mind Elle Spencer's writing, I thought I would be in for a good read.

Unfortunately, this really didn't click for me, not even a smidge.

This book had some really good steamy scenes but the chemistry between characters seemed very rushed. I know that an instant connection somewhat makes sense based on this premise, but I just wasn't convinced of the immediacy of this romance. I loved the side story with Mrs. Stokely most of all. Truly heartwarming!

I go back and forth on Spencer books, I enjoyed her short y and [book:30 Dates in 30 Days|51872065] but wasn’t impressed by [book:The Road to Madison|44162675]. This was sort of between both, I was intrigued by the past life premise, but the execution fell flat.

This features Lindsay, an recently divorced artist who believes she had a past life with a woman named Roo and lives in a small town with her daughter, her BFF from way back also features. The other MC is Ren, who is visiting said small town to see her BFF before taking a job in Paris. The first time Lindsay sees Ren she faints, because she thinks Ren is Roo. This could have set up an interesting book about past life connections, but it never quite gets there.

Instead it’s kind of Robin Alexander meets Melissa Brayden with hijinks and zany characters of an Alexander book and Braydenesque banter. The nicknames for the BFFs and the over the top situations were too cutesy for me.

In all honesty I’d have preferred more relationship building between the leads and less of the zaniness. The whole relationship felt underdone and the reveal came too late. The ending was very rushed (actually takes place in the epilogue) so the pacing felt off.

Others have enjoyed this more than I did and if you’re a Spencer fan I’m sure you’d enjoy it. It’s an ok read, I was just hoping for something a bit deeper. This is mostly fluff. 3 stars.

Elle Spencer’s books keep getting better and better. While I found Casting Lacey to be just okay, I enjoyed Spencer’s rom-com 30 Dates in 30 Days a lot. There was none of that angst I hate in her two latest releases, and I enjoyed Waiting For You even more.

I’m not too sure how to categorize this novel. Is it a paranormal romance? Magical realism? Anyway, when I first read the synopsis, I was a little hesitant, but the cover is gorgeous and it convinced me to give it a shot. Waiting For You has a little bit of everything: humour, drama, a good romance and a bunch of strong women.

The characters in this one are fantastic. The MCs have this intense chemistry between them. The supporting cast is the best I’ve read about in a long while. Most side characters are well-fleshed out, and I loved Mrs. Stockely’s backstory and her forbidden love. It had me teared up quite a few times, especially on Millie’s birthday.

My only real complaint is that I found the end to be a little rushed. Everything was wrapped up quickly, and I didn’t find the ending quite satisfying.

Past lives, wonderful memories, friendship pull these women together to more fully experience life and sisterhood - I recommend this feel good read.

This has not been the best of the books I have read so far by this author.

The reasons have been, on the one hand, that I could not grasp the thread of what was happening to Lindsay, I did not understand what it was all about painting a child, then a woman, first it seemed to me something of the artist's madness , then something esoteric and mysterious and in the end the result disappointed me a little. Then comes Ren what appears to be a successful woman on a rest stop to her future in a very important position in Paris, all sophistication and glam, but her behavior is far from that. The confusing story of what happened in adolescence with Lindsay is explained throughout the book and in the end it is mixed with other things that happened in town that are not very clear or understandable to me either.

From the point of view of the romance between Lindsay and Ren, it has been a little forced, as if it were mandatory and neither of them could avoid it, but when sometimes that is something romantic and sweet, in this case it has seemed more like a obligation and a duty to them.

An average romance.

This book was unlike anything I've ever read. The premise was unique, the two leads had great chemistry and the writing was very engaging. The spark between the main characters was very obvious, as was the chemistry between the two sets of best friends. The supporting characters, especially Mrs Stokely, were all very well written and added to the story. I felt like I was right there living with them in that small town. The conflict introduced by the reincarnation issue and Ren's reaction were realistic and handled well. The angst level wasn't over the top. A pleasure to read.

Usually I don't like Insta-Love stories, but I guess with a backstory like past lives it can work for me!

I liked the setting and secondary characters, it was realistic. I felt the chemistry between the mains. Usually I like a longer timeline, but like I said, this one was okay.
