The final book in this oh so sweet series, expect smiles and swoons. Calvin and Anna have fantastic chemistry but have to overcome their romantic pasts to give each other a chance. This is such a sweet romance, as the other books in the series are, and it is fast moving and well written. I really love this series and while I received this book from NetGalley, I immediately bought the audiobook once I realized it was available.

Speaking of the audiobook, it is narrated by Virginia Rose and Aiden Snow and they are both great. Aiden, especially, has this gorgeous deep voice that really immerses me in the story but Virginia also does a fantastic job playing all the different characters. Such a great book and the narration elevates this sweet, low angst story.

The third and final story in Aurora Rose Reynolds’ How to Catch an Alpha series of interconnected standalones, Hooking Him was exactly the type of sweet, sexy romance I’ve come to love and want from this author and precisely what I was looking to read when I picked it up. From their not-exactly-cute first meeting, I felt the spark between Anna and Calvin. It may not have been the insta-love BOOM straight out of the gate that Reynolds’ is known for, but the fuse was definitely lit for the explosion. Sexy, fun, and told in dual points of view, I devoured this easy-to-read, low drama love story in an afternoon. It was steamy and romantic with a hint of suspense to keep things interesting. The hero and the heroine both had baggage from previous relationships that contributed to their current trust issues, but the attraction between them was so undeniable, it was impossible for either of them to not to take the risk. The wonderful cast of side characters ratchet up the charm in this story with their entertaining antics.

Aurora Rose Reynolds totally brings the boom in Hooking Him with a low-angst, light-hearted, feel good story. Calvin was a confident hero who knew exactly what he wanted and pulled out every swoon-worthy move to get Anna’s attention. I absolutely loved watching this couple fall in love, and I was totally swept up in their romance. Hooking Him by Aurora Rose Reynolds gets 4.5 smooches from me!

** spoiler alert ** Sweet story.
If you have read ARR then this is her usual style.
Safe Hero.
Devoted to each other, no flirting with anyone else.
A great group of secondary characters and previous characters and couples from earlier books in series.
Non man-whore Hero.
No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine.
Ex drama for heroine as she has recently broken off an engagement in Chicago.
HEA.
Epilogue

Wow! I devoured this in a couple hours and even then I had to re-read certain parts because not only did Calvin capture my heart but so did Anna and her Golden Girls friends. She did what she needed to do for her happiness and didn’t back down. As much as others tried to bring her down, she stuck to her needs. Calvin supporting her and showing her how she truly needed to be treated was the icing. Their chemistry was explosive but it was more about their understanding, support, passion, and love that’s the heart of the story. There is a little mystery/suspense. There were so many moments of laughter too that I couldn’t stop smiling. I laughed, I cried, I got frustrated and upset but in the end, I was left with a big smile on my face.

Not much to say about 'Hooking Him'. It was a cute hallmark movie type romance filled with instant love (cringe worthy but expected), oozing chemistry, family drama, cheating exes and a side fish of murder (surprising bit of this story). It's definitely a feel good romance and ideal for readers looking for a quick, easy read.

Hooking Him is a story that will steal your heart and soul within minutes of starting this book. Calvin and Anna have an intense chemistry that you can feel radiate through the words and pages of their story. Their story is heartfelt, passionate, emotional and will leave your breathless. Two people who have a past they are trying to move forward from and are searching for nothing short of true happiness. If you are after a story that will make your pulse race, have you smiling and leave you feeling totally and utterly fulfilled, then sit back, grab a cup of coffee and relax as this one will have you hooked on everything that is Calvin and Anna.

I started this book later than I normally would and surprise I finished it in no time. Mostly because Aurora Rose Reynolds makes reading so easy. Her stories pull you in and tick all the boxes.
She writes awesome heroes and heroines.
Anna has left her old life behind because she wasn't happy. She's not ready to date, but Calvin doesn't really want to take no for an answer, in a good way.
Calvin is a detective and two unsolved murders haunt him and take him away from what he's trying to create with Anna. Now, the life Anna left behind is back causing even more problems.

This story has everything to keep you entertained. I never tire of her writing style or story lines. The drama is enough to keep you wondering, but not so over the top.
I'm always hoping for more!

This is the 3rd and final book in this amazing series and is Anna and Calvin’s story. Anna is from a wealthy family and appears to have her live all sorted out, however, when she realises that she is just complacent she gives up everything and moves to start a new life. Now working in a bakery and living in a small apartment she is content. I adored the “Golden Girls” and their crazy shenanigans. Calvin is a detective who has been hurt by his past and is not looking for any relationships, until he sets his eyes on Anna. This is a beautifully written story and is fun, entertaining, and humorous, with a tad drama, suspense, and mystery which all lead to a sweet and romantic storyline. I cannot recommend this story highly enough; it is a definite must read.

Hooking Him by Aurora Rose Reynolds is book Three in the How to Catch an Alpha Series. I have read the previous books which of course added to my enjoyment of this one but, I did feel they can be a standalone book if you wish to do so. This is the story of Calvin Miller and Anna McAlister. Anna has moved to town to make a fresh start after a bad breakup. Calvin is the hometown boy/man who is now a detective and also hasn't had a good past relationship. When Calvin and Anna first meet they don't have a very good meeting that takes them a few times to get past it. It doesn't take to long before they get their feet on good grounding where their feelings just take off. I would not nor could not put the book down. I am a big fan of this author's writing so I haven't read one of her books yet that I can stop reading. I love her Alpha Male men who know who they want and they are going to make that happen. Loved it!

This is a really cute, quick alpha male, instant love story in the How To Catch an Alpha Series. It features a strong willed, independent heroine named Anna who left her life in Chicago in search of something that will actually make her happy. She ends up in a small town working in a bakery where she meets Calvin, a hot detective that scares her just a little.

I loved all the characters in this books so much from the Golden Girls to Chrissie and Gaston who we already know from Baiting Him.

I love how they all step up to protect Anna and be there for her when her family let her down.

I really have enjoyed all 3 books in this series.

**I was generously provided with an advanced readers copy of this book in exchange for my fair and honest review**

I always love anything Aurrora Rose Reynolds writes and will always read her books! Hooking Him was a sweet chemistry filled page turner with a guaranteed HEA. Anna and Calvin's story is the third book in the How to Catch an Alpha series and each one is a recommended read if you love HEA's. One of my favorite parts in this book is Anna and Calvin's meet cute, its probably one of the funniest/cutest meet cutes I've read. Their attraction is instant and so is their love. Calvin and Anna both have their own personal history and issues but they don't let that get in the way of finding their happiness. There are some characters that want both Anna and Calvin out of the picture but don't worry there is an HEA. Aurora knows also how to write amazing and funny side characters which helps to add to this story even more. I laughed, smiled, swooned, and had so many more emotions while reading this. Another 5 stars for an amazing book!

Hooking Him is the third book in the How to Catch an Alpha series. I read the first two and loved them. I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book. This is the final book in the series, and I'm going to be sad to see the characters go! This book could be read as a stand a lone. You get a glimpse to the characters from the other book, but this story lays out all the details you need for this book. This book is told from duel points of view however most of the book is told from the female's point of view.

This story is between Anna and Calvin. Anna called off her marriage from a guy she had been with for 5 years. She wasn't in love with him and was just marrying him to make her family happy by his status. She moved away and her family pretty much disowned her. She wants to find her happy. She works at a bakery and lives in a little apartment above an older lady.

Calvin is a detective going through his own falling out from the woman he thought he loved. She left him, and he has a hard time trusting women now. He meets Anna when he pulls over her landlord. He wasn't very nice to her, when she was trying to help. When he goes to apologize he realizes he has feelings for her. Anna starts to have feelings for him too.

The newspaper reporter publishes that Anna is from money and left her fiancée, and it has everyone in town wanting to get her autograph. It also brings her fiancée back into the picture. Calvin is dealing with unsolved murders. Can they handle the media from Anna's past? Can Calvin solve the murders before it's to late?

I really liked this book, as well as all the others in the series. I can't wait to read more books by this author.

Aurora Rose Reynolds does it again! She has created a magic formula with her Alpha Heroes and the sassy fierce heroines, you can’t help but fall in love.

This book is a standalone novel in a series of standalones (I know confusing but limited cross over and can be completely read on its own). The story is told mostly from Anna’s POV but we do get a couple chapters from Calvin’s. I thought the flow and pace of the story worked well. The pace of the story flowed well even this this was a slower burn coming to love relationship.
The story follows Anna and Calvin. Anna works in the same bakery as Chrissie (heroine in book 2). Anna left her life in Chicago to find her happiness. Calvin is a Detective for the local police department and has had his heart broken in the past. Neither of these characters were open to finding love. Anna and Calvin both have experienced heartache and have some trust issues to overcome before they can be all in together. This story is the perfect amount of romance and drama/suspense to make a good read.

Hooking Him was a fast fun and flirty read. I loved the added element of suspense and mystery to this story. This book had me sitting on the edge of my seat, trying to figure out the who. But it also filled with funny laugh out loud moments. I loved the quirky old ladies in this story. They added so much to the book.
AAR has a magical way she writes her alpha heroes. If you alike a strong sexy man and a female lead who is equally as strong, I would highly suggest these stories. This was a 4/5 read for me. They are not overly long and detailed books. Spending a couple hours by the pool this summer, this is the perfect light and funny read.

Basically i loved everything about this book.

I appreciated a story that started with that kind of first encounter which was an interesting and very promising one between Calvin, the detective with strong alpha vibes (so yummy that one) and Anna, the new girl in town who would definitely keep him on his toes.
I had a good time reading about Calvin and Anna falling in love, fast and going with the flow.
As true ARR’s style, boom is involved, an alpha guy who wasn’t afraid to express his feelings, protective and caring, the heroine Anna wasn’t a damsel in distress, brave for finding her own happiness, outside of her incomprehensive family.
They have a great chemistry and connection. I appreciated the development of their relationship, with tenderness and hotness, showing how it feels like to be loved and moving together forward at their own pace.
I also enjoyed the small town, with Anna’s new friends who were a crazy bunch, her job at the bakery and to see how she fit greatly. They just made me laugh a lot with their antics!
I was happy not to see much drama, just enough to keep me interested, not too overwhelming.
Full of charm, sweet and swoony!

What would you do if you realized that you were just going through the motions? Not living life, and it was more like letting life live you. Doing things that made other people happy, but not yourself. Anna realized that she was not happy and in an effort to change that fact she dropped everything, left her life behind in Chicago and is now in SC working in a bakery and living in a place that is the size of the closet she once had. Just when she thinks she has everything figured out, she meets Calvin. Is getting close to someone now a mistake, or is this one of those steps that Anna needs to achieve that goal of happiness?

Calvin and Anna's story was amazing!! I loved everything about it; the drama, the trio of little old ladies, the naughty bits. From the first paragraph I got sucked in and didn't stop until it the last word. I give this 5 stars.

Loving the continuation of this series! I absolutely love this author and her style of writing, and this book is no exception! Anna left her whole life behind after realizing that she wasn’t happy and that life wasn’t going to make her happy and walked away. Relocating to a beach town, she works a totally different job and a very different life, and is realizing how much she enjoys what she’s doing now. It’s there that she meets Calvin on a chance, after her new “older” friends get pulled over. Instant chemistry between them, Calvin decides to pursue Anna, even though she feels she’s not ready. As they continue to have chance meetings, he breaks down Anna’s walls and she gives things a chance, even though her past comes to town and threatens her relationship and new life. All through that, Calvin is in the process of investigating a series of murders and doesn’t realize how close he actually is to the answer. I loved the suspense of this storyline and was not seeing the ending coming! I was really happy that we got to see Anna and Calvin’s life years later in the epilogue to see that Anna’s big move and change was the right thing.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Definitely one of the better books I’ve read by this author! You can depend on Reynolds for light, low angst reads with loving and protective alpha males. She’s not breaking the mold with her books, but is delivering solid, easy romances that read quickly and wash away the troubles of your day. I loved this hero - he’s absolutely got some alpha tendencies (as all of Reynolds’ heroes do), but there was nothing over the top or aggressive about his actions. Just a really great guy who falls quickly, and that made this such a good read.

The story follows Anna, a woman who grew up in a wealthy family and was encouraged to become a trophy wife. She wanted to keep her parents happy, so she spent too many years with the wrong guy. After making a change to her life, Anna is now single and living in a small town, where she’s finding her own slice of happiness. Trouble seems to follow her around, which is okay because the new guy who has caught her eye is a detective. Calvin has never fallen so fast, but something about Anna just gets to him, so it’s not long before he can picture a future with her - despite all of the drama from her past.

I read this in one sitting because it flows easily and there’s never a dull moment. It’s an uncomplicated romance that doesn’t linger on any real angst, and sometimes that’s exactly what hits the spot. I loved Calvin and really appreciated that Reynolds toned him down so that nothing felt extreme. I also loved that so much of the story is told from his perspective. There’s definitely an instalove vibe, but it’s the perfect kind of light and easy read for the end of a long workday. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review of this sweet, low angst romance.

This was just what I needed at the moment. A fun, sweet, and quick read! Hooking Him is a super cute small town romance that features a great bunch of supporting characters. In typical ARR fashion, we get a great story with a little bit of drama for those who like a hint of thrill in their romances.

Here’s what I loved:
Anna and Calvin were super cute together! After an unfortunate first meet, their chemistry grows quickly. I really enjoyed these two together!

The Golden Girls were too cute! The setting is phenomenal. This is the type of book I’d like to step inside for a few days and just hang out. These ladies were a hoot and half. I laughed so hard at their antics!

The writing, plot, pace, and characters are all well formed. This is a standalone and will certainly hit the spot for fans of this phenomenal author!
