What a cute book! I loved everything about this story - especially the little connections between the characters. The writing flowed smoothly and I felt like I was one of the characters. A relaxing weekend read! |
This was good fun and a wicked funny read, I giggled most of the way through and laughed aloud several times. I adored these quirky characters, even the obnoxious ones and I was totally enamoured with the endearing main characters who gave good banter and clever inner musings. Written in a dual POV, the writing was original, witty, insightful, amusing, and sparked sharp visuals that kept me smiling throughout. |
I did not end up finishing this novel; however, I would not rate it one star. The issue was in part with the fact it was not completely 'for me' and I can understand why others would enjoy this book. There were some things that kept me from enjoying it fully. I could not get into the book, it took effort to read it and that just isn't ideal. Another example (besides the obviousness of the plot) is the characters - I simply did not relate to their story and in some moments, I found them plain annoying. Some Happily Ever After stories do it for me, others do not - this was just not the one. |
A sweet romantic story about finding the person you're meant to be with when your least expecting it. But not realizing they're perfect for you until it's too late. Or is it? Parker and Liam are well-conceived characters that I enjoyed getting to know. The supporting characters compliment the main charcters perfectly and add just enough to the story to make it entertaining. The storyline was easy to get involved with and follow. Telling the story from both Liam and Parker's point of view gave the story depth and made the story come to life with wonderful visuals from each of their points of view. I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. It's a classic rom-com that made me laugh numorous times throughout the book. This is not the first book that I've read by Aimee Brown and as long as she continues to write books I will be reading them! I highly recommend this book for a fun escape from the depressing headlines in the world right now. I am grateful to Netgalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read an ARC of this wonderful book in exchange for a honest review. |
The long awaited Liam book!!! I’ve been excited about this book since Aimee said that it was coming and I was so excited to read it! It was absolutely wonderful; exactly what a rom-com should be. A hysterically awful meeting, a great get-to-know-you story, and a HEA. It was awesome to get to know more of Liam, his last, and just “hear his voice” more, and it was fantastic to see him get his HEA. |
A good blurb will always draw you in, and the blurb for Love Me Like You Do certainly did that! Parker finds herself on her wedding day, the happiest day of her life, fleeing the scene. Her life changes in that one moment, as she discovers her fiancee isn't ready to get married - shame he didn't mention it earlier! Liam finds himself in the right place at the right time, as he manages to save a fleeing bride from serious injury. What he doesn't anticipate is meeting a woman like Parker. Even whilst experiencing her worst ever day, he can't help but find himself entranced by her. Following a number of coincidental meetings, they finally agree to be friends - but will it be enough? Whilst the blurb definitely sold me this novel, I still didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. I loved both Parker and Liam - they were realistic and likeable characters. Both had their flaws, neither trying to be perfect at all. I loved their random meetings, and their interactions not only with each other but with others too. This was a fab easy-read with believable characters. It is of course a romance novel, but it happens so naturally that it's really enjoyable to read. It's a novel very much centred around family, second chances and love. I am more than happy to recommend this novel to you all. As the evenings draw in and the temperature cools, curl up on the sofa, snuggle under a blanket with a delicious glass of wine and lose yourself in Liam and Parkers story! |

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing an advanced copy of “Love Me Like You Do” by Aimee Brown. Thoughts and opinions are my own. This story suffered from everything interesting in the synopsis happening in the first chapter while the rest of the book felt like it was just killing time until the couple got together. The main “conflict” between them was a bit ridiculous as Parker was going to be gone for a whole month on a work trip. It felt a little silly how much the work trip was used as an obstacle. It was seriously just a month. There were numerous editing issues that hopefully got addressed in the final copy. Words were frequently repeated sentence after sentence. There were also instances of the wrong use of words such as ‘tale’ when the context should have been ‘tail.’ All the editing issues distracted from the story. There were also instances of character names being switched (ex. sisters Parker and Harper). Finally, there was a lot of telling versus showing which distanced me from the story. I wasn’t immersed much after the first chapter. While I found the family dynamics to be one of the stronger points of this book when it came to Parker’s family, I had a real issue with Liam’s. He cut off his father for good reasons but everyone else ignores this and tries to force them back together. If Liam’s father really wanted forgiveness, he shouldn’t have been stalking and pushing into his son’s life like he did. And then Liam casually drops that not only was his dad an alcoholic but he also beat Liam’s mother. Why would such a bombshell make anyone hope for a mended relationship? A dying asshole is still an asshole. 2/5 stars |

This is wonderful, romantic and uplifting read that I adored from beginning to end. Parker is on the verge of marrying the love of her life when she finds out he has made the decision that he no longer wants to get married. Parker cannot believe his timing as today is meant to be their wedding day. Parker is devastated and flees from the wedding venue hoping to hide away while she mends her broken heart. What happens is she is nearly run over and is saved by a very handsome stranger who helps her and takes her to the hospital. He also takes her home after leaving the hospital. This is where Parker says goodbye to the handsome man and doesn't ever expect to see him again. Liam is on his way home from yet anther disastrous date and is not expecting much else from his day when he saves the life of a damsel in distress. There is something about this gorgeous girl that attracts him from first sight, so being the gentleman he is he can't possibly leave her in the hospital all alone. After the two of them meet neither of them thinks that they will oversee each other again, but the two of them keep bumping into each other in various different places. Eventually they see so much of each other they finally tell each other their names, Liam even plucks up the courage to ask Parker out on a date but she is determined that they will just remain friends. Parker and Liam begin to spend more and more time together and there is a spark of romance between the pair, but are they both ready for the relationship and is Parker ready to let love back into her heart too? Only time will tell. this was such a fun read and one I really enjoyed. I thought the writing style flowed well and had a few twists in it which really kept the storyline interesting. I liked getting to know both Parker and Liam. They both had similar values and they also share that they both have difficult family lives. Parker was devastated when her ex fiancé broke her heart which explains why she is finding it so hard to let people in. They do both have some amazing people in their lives who support them and try and give them nudge in the right direction. This is a great fun and romantic read that you will not be disappointed you purchased. |

I had a very tough time getting into this book. The characters were likeable.enough but this book took me forever to get through as I just couldn't get into it. |
My thanks to Victoria Joss from Head of Zeus publishers for a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review in order to take part of the Blog Tour for it. I gave this a 4 stars or 8/10. As the life that Parker knew implodes around her on her Wedding Day, finding someone new to fall for is the last thing on her mind. Meet Liam a guest at her Wedding, that becomes more involved in events than he intended. As Parker comes to terms with what has happened to her, she finds herself drawn to Liam against her better judgement. She shouldn't be falling for someone so soon after the non Wedding to end all non Weddings or should she? This was a lovely story that is the perfect antidote to take us away from all that is happening around us at the moment, it is pure escapism. Aimee Brown has woven a gentle romance around a chance meeting at a Wedding. It is not every day that the Bride ends up falling for one of the guests. This was the first story that I have read by this Author and I will look forward to reading others by her in due course. It's well written and I found it an engaging premise, that kept me hooked and wanting to know what happened to Parker and Liam. |
I first fell in love with Aimee Brown in 2018 when I read and reviewed The Lucky Dress. However, Love Me Like You Do far surpassed my expectations and love for The Lucky Dress! Why did this sit on my iPad so long waiting to be read? Sexy Texan Liam is opening his new bar, trying to avoid his father (who wants to re-connect) and basically doing his own thing when Parker runs out of her wedding and is almost hit by a car. Parker has just been told by her fiancé (right before walking down the aisle) that they aren’t right for one another when she barely misses being hit by a car but breaks her wrist and shows Liam her electric blue lace thongs in the process. Thus begins a beautiful friendship with every sign and signal from above you can imagine, except, it takes Parker a while to get on board. I have two criticisms of this novel and that’s it. First of all, the title doesn’t make any sense to me. After reading the entire novel, I’m not sure what the title has to do with the book, but maybe I missed it. Secondly, the cover. I like the cover but it has absolutely nothing to do with the book. Who is choosing this author’s covers??? Moving on, this is one of my favorite rom-com novels that I have ever read. Liam is great, Parker takes some warming up to as far as a female lead. But what makes this book so wonderful is that it is so damn funny. Everyone’s sense of humor differs, but as far as I am concerned, it was perfect. Specifically, the hot yoga session. I don’t remember the last time a book made me laugh so hard. A second runner-up to that would be any interaction with Parker and her young niece, Evie. Again – completely inappropriate, but hilarious. All of the characters are wonderful and even as secondary characters, everyone adds to the plot and makes this a wonderful read. My favorite secondary character, however, would be George. I have owned Saint Bernards in my life and everything about George was spot-on! The scenes where Liam would come home and George would come barreling down the hallway brought back so many bittersweet memories! Love Me Like You Do is not an insta-love romance, but truly a friends-to-lovers romance. But I assure you, it’s worth every bit of the wait. For anyone looking for a sweet and funny escape novel, I promise you that this is the book for you. 5 stars and highly recommended! *Thanks to Aria and NetGalley for providing this review copy in exchange for my honest opinion! |
This is a romcom which keeps you interested to the end, because of the dynamic between Parker and Liam, who seem so different at the beginning. I also loved the range of characters who you get to meet, particularly the younger members of the family who are sparky and irreverent. In fact, you get to meet three generations in this book and Parker's Mum is certainly a one off. Love Me Like You Do has plenty of coincidental meetings and the odd surprise but this all adds to the slightly fairy tale air it has. You get the impression that fate is at work somewhere, although I am sure that Parker wouldn't believe in any such thing. Both Liam and Parker have hidden depths and a back story to make them come alive. This is a great escapist read to while away a weekend. Thanks to Aria for a copy of the book |

While the start of the book really caught me and I found I sailed past the 25% mark, why did I then find it so hard to get back into this book which, frankly, wasn't very long at all? It was an okay story, a good romcom, but some of the instances in there (like the ex and what he's up to on the hospital second floor) felt very cliché and coming from out-of-nowhere and a lot of it felt convenient... It's okay for a full-on one-sit read, I suppose. Definitely for fans of frothy romantic comedies |

A topsy turvy life has kept me from reading the last month or so. Yesterday when I needed something to relax me, I opened "Love Me Like You Do" and immediately fell into joy. I smiled and laughed my way throughout loving a new take on all our favorite rom com movies. Predictable? Yes! Did I care? No! Living vicariously through Liam, Parker, and the friends and family surrounding them was the perfect antidote to a stressful time. Have fun! Relax and enjoy yourself for a few hours, leaving your cares by the wayside. |
A really fun read. The character build up was fantastic and the plot was a little different to ones I’ve read before. Very enjoyable |
This is truly a clean rom-com, which isn't easy to find! While I felt like there was a lot going on in this book, my overall thoughts were this was a quick read, with laugh out loud moments and characters that I genuinely wanted good things to happen to. "Love Me Like You Do" has family drama, quirky friendships and fun friends to lovers setting. This was my first time reading anything by author Aimee Brow, but I would totally read more of her work. |
Really enjoyed reading this book, couldn't put it down, must admit its one that I would happily pick up again and read, Overall I would recommend to anyone to read it, can't wait to get it on my page and let my followers know what I think about it! |
Favorite Quotes: I let out a heaving frustrated sigh. One that feels like it’s come from the depths of my soul where I store all my secrets. The goofy grin now on his face sends a wave of mortification through me. I can feel the heat start at my feet and quickly make its way to my head. I probably look like a thermometer with both a bright red face of humiliation and bright red hair. The next pose is anything but easy as we lean forward, butts in the air, hands on the ground, and sweat dripping onto our increasingly slippery mats. Jason doesn’t hold back and rips a fart right next to me. ‘Sorry,’ he says out loud as the room pretends it never happened. ‘Perfectly normal,’ Stella says. ‘Perfectly normal is far too correct,’ I mumble to Jason who laughs under his breath. Yep. They say you gotta kiss a lot of frogs and, well, I don’t want to anymore… The right frog is supposed to turn into your prince according to fairytale law. But I think mine got run over by a truck or something. ‘I pinkie swear.’ She holds her pinkie in the air in front of me… Don’t tell me you’re never pinkie sworn before?’ ‘I’m a thirty-two-year-old dude. Of course, I’ve never pinkie sworn before. Is it like crossing my heart and hoping to die?’ I do the cross my heart motion and point to the sky. ‘What the hell was that?’ she asks with a laugh. ‘There is no dying involved in pinkie swearing. Just link your pinkie through mine. It’s binding. If we were Japanese and I broke the pinkie swear, I’d have to cut off my pinkie or let you cut it off or something morbid like that. It’s the real deal of promises…’ My Review: This was good fun and wicked funny, I giggle-snorted most of the way through and laughed aloud several times. I adored these quirky characters, even the obnoxious ones, well, maybe not the exes, but I was totally enamored with the endearing main characters who gave good banter and clever inner musings. Written in a dual POV, the writing was original, irreverently witty, keenly insightful, delightfully amusing, and sparked sharp visuals across my cranium that kept me smirking with glee. The storylines pulled from several genres including my favorite, women’s fiction, as well as romantic comedy and considerable family drama. I relished every clever word of this engaging tale and am now stalking, coveting, and scheming to amass all her books, past and future. I have a new author to fangirl as she just shot to the top of my favorites list. |
This wasn't that great honestly. I just felt that the characters really didn't stand out to me, and I felt the plot just wasn't that interesting at all. It honestly took me a long time to get through it and I just never wanted to pick it up, I mean it was enjoyable at some moments, and it wasn't terrible. It was just a solid book, and honestly highly doubt that would be reading this again, But overall it was decent, it just didn't blow me away. I thought the romance was good, but it was a lot of back and forth between the characters and it felt dragged on, I didn't really get to enjoy them really being a couple very much, because they kept fighting their attraction and it was getting really annoying, |

I am disappointed. I was expecting more from this, but all I can see now is just wasted potential. This was very cheesy, and not in a good way. The female main character is obsessed with fairytale princesses and finding her own Prince Charming, while the male main character thinks that being from Texas is a perfectly good replacement for having an actual personality. These two characters were utterly bland, their romance lacked some kind of spark, there was just no chemistry between them. Really, what they both needed was some therapy, not a new boy- or girlfriend. The side plot for each main character was also quite heavy for a novel that is being presented as a fluffy little romance with heart. The problems they were dealing with, their exes returning again and again, the lack of depth despite the difficult problems the characters faced, it all worked together to turn what should have been a quick and easy read into a long hard slog. |
