A well laid out and nifty little baking book, with a cornucopia of ministering recipes.
Despite the clear and concise instructions, I think we can all agree that I will never be as proficient a baker as Mary Berry! 😂

I think it’s impossible not to love Mary Berry. She is a national treasure and everything she makes is gold in my opinion. This book is no exception… full of beautiful bakes that are not intimidating to make yourself at home, but still would be hugely impressive at any dinner party or family gathering.

Thanks so much to Netgalley and the publishers for letting me access an advance copy of this book in exchange for my feedback.

A selection of tried and tested favourites from Mary Berry which mean you’ll never be short of a recipe when you feel like baking. A good mixture of simpler and more complicated bakes, accessible to everyone.

I’ve made my way through this brilliant recipe book in an unusual way, by choosing to make one of the recipes every time I come across one I like. The problem with this is I like most of them!!
The recipes are easy to follow and there are useful tips for beginners to use.
This is an excellent book!

Big Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher Random House UK, Ebury Publishing and of course Mary Berry.

I adored this. I love Mary and this is the first book of her's that I've had to make recipes from. Had quite a few successes which is saying a lot from this limited baker.

This is a real treasure trove of tried and tested recipes for cakes for every occasion. You can choose from several different coffee cake recipes for example. I really loved the lemon yogurt cake recipe I tried. This is definitely a book for your shelf

I am not a domestic diva. I have been known to burn water. However, I do like to bake, even if the final result is not always pretty to look at, it generally tastes all right. With enforced time on my hands during the COVID 19 lockdown I decided that I had run out of excuses and it was now time to learn how to bake properly. And there's really only one person I want to be when I grow up - Ms Mary Berry!

So I have attempted several bakes in the collection so far. By far the best-completed bakes were my Bakewell Tarts, Victoria Sponge and Battenburg. My colouring went a bit...funky on the Battenburg but it most decidedly was tasty!

My Kitchen Table: 100 Cakes and Bakes is a delightful cake book from Mary Berry.

The book is split into six sections (no of recipes):
- Large cakes & Swiss Rolls (21)
- Small cakes (12)
- Traybakes & loaf cakes (24)
- Scones, buns & pancakes (13)
- Special cakes (21)
- Occasion cakes (9)

There are your usual classics such as Victoria Sponge, Fairy Cakes and a few I've not heard of but would like to try such as Singin' Hinny. Most cakes can be made in an hour or less, and some require the fruit to be soaked overnight. Included in the Special cakes are a number of cheesecakes too which are great as a pudding I find.

Each recipe comes with a full colour photograph, a list of ingredients, plus what cakes tins or trays are required. The measurements are in both metric and imperial.

I enjoy surprising my family with different cakes, and there are plenty to make from this book. I like the way it gives details for alternative filling or if you want a smaller cake, it provides tips on how to do that, so there are actually more than the 100 cakes listed.

I have a few of Mary Berry's other books and this one might be a good edition to my cook book library as it would be easy to flick through. However, you do need to bear in mind that all of these recipes are contained in 5 other books of hers - note regarding this at the rear of the book.

I received this book from Netgalley in return for a honest review.

My Kitchen Table: 100 Cakes and Bakes by a Mary Berry has a wonderful selection of cakes and bakes. From something easy to the more complicated. The format is easy to follow and the pictures are very pretty. Although I feel that having the pictures before the recipes would be better than having them after the recipes. It can be slightly confusing.

You can’t beat Mary’s recipes. A fantastic mix of loaf cakes, sponges, divine cakes, biscuits, savoury bakes. All simply set out and in fact I have two cakes in the oven as I type! The ebook also has links to read up for more info online. Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book contains classic recipes and you know you can't go wrong with a Mary Berry bake! This is the first cookery book I've read and reviewed on Kindle and I found the format easy to navigate with chapter breakdowns and clicks through to recipes to save constantly clicking 'next page'.

This is a wonderful collection of recipes for cakes, loaves, muffins and scones. Mary Berry’s recipes are always very clearly presented, and in this book, each one is accompanied by very attractive photos. Ingredients are in imperial and metric and the size of tray needed is clearly stated at the beginning of the recipe.
Most of the recipes are perfect for everyday baking, and it is great to have a lot of recipes for tray bakes and loaves; I made the Chocolate Fudge Cake and the Cherry and Almond Traybake and both were very successful.
The book also includes some special cakes and cakes for occasions such as Chocolate Mousse Cake (delicious!) and Easter Simnel Cake.
Links to baking tips would make this an excellent book for a beginner cook, but the range of recipes mean that it would also be good for any level of baking enthusiast. Certainly a book I would recommend to others.

Yes Mary Berry 🙌🏻 I've seen her on bake off and know she's obviously a baking legend, but shamefully never tried one of her recipes. With this book that will 100% change! So many easy and practical recipes that will most definitely get me more into baking. We're having the "American chocolate ripple cheesecake" tomorrow and I have high hopes 😍
