I absolutely adore Kathryn Freeman's wonderful writing style, so given the opportunity to read and review Strictly Come Dating I could not wait!
In this story we meet Maggie, a 37 year old single mother to her two beautiful daughters. Following the divorce Maggie is understandably battling some insecurities that she is trying to overcome. Every weekend Maggie and her best friends get together and watch Strictly Come Dancing.
I loved the romance that began to bloom between Maggie and Seb is certainly a slow burner, but my goodness it is so SO lovely to follow!. Despite there being a ten year age difference between them, they have an instant spark that they simply cannot deny.
This story is full to the brim of cute, heart warming moments that well and truly capture your heart. I adored all of the characters and their own, unique little ways. The romance throughout was gorgeous and unique.
I loved losing myself in this story, and would certainly recommend others do the same!.

What a super cute book!

I loved seeing a younger male MC fall for an older single mother.

Lots of dancing references which were super fun! If you like the dancing competition shows you will love this book.

I also really enjoyed that both characters worked through some major life changes and still found love with each other.

Thank you Harper Collins UK and Netgalley for an ARC to provide my sassy thoughts.

Since I finally found the time to dive into Strictly Come Dating, I will say that this was filled with all kinds of cuteness. In it, you will meet Maggie who is about 37 years old and a single mother of two girls. Just like all recent divorcees, she definitely has some insecurities that she is dealing with. So every weekend, she gets together with her best friends and watches 'Strictly Come Dancing.' Which reminded me of 'Dancing with the Stars' and I used to be obsessed with that show.

So when Seb walks into her life, well sparks definitely flew. Even though he was 10 years younger than her. To me? Well, age is just a number when you are an adult. So if a 40 year old and a 30 year old want to get together and make babies - then by all means, you do you boo boo. I don't feel the same way if it's like a 30 year old and a 16 year old. Sorry, not sorry.

As for the romance, it was a slow burn for sure. Which can go one way or another with me. For this book, it definitely worked just because I knew that Maggie was going through some things and she didn't think Seb was going to stick around.

Luckily for them, and me, they got closer and closer and I approved all of it. I loved them together and there was nothing that was going to change my mind about them. I'm very happy that I got the chance to dive into this and falling in love with some awesome characters.

This book reminded me so much of The Idea of You. Same concept of younger guy meets older woman. Thankfully there was a happy ending here 💕

Great book if you love dancing - for someone who isn't really into dancing/dancing shows, this was okay. I did enjoy it - great characters and a well written story, just not for me.

A great story for strictly lovers! A good narrative even if you don’t like strictly, I liked the dynamic between the main characters and with their children... and the errant brother!!! Kept me amused - read in a day or so!

I was so excited to win Strictly Come Dating in the Love in Lockdown Giveaway by Harper Collins! The story follows Maggie as she finds herself and learns to love again. Maggie’s guilty pleasure is watching the show Strictly Come Dancing, which she watches with her best friends and the kids every week. When her friend’s younger brother watches with them one Saturday night, everything changes. They are instantly attracted to each other, but will their ten-year age difference and different lifestyles prevent them from being together?

Maggie, with encouragement from her friends, joins dance classes again. And when Seb becomes her partner, Maggie learns more than just dancing. She realized that Seb is more than the goofy, good-looking younger brother of her friend. He is fun and caring and generous and not what Maggie expected.

I love Maggie! A responsible, loving, and dedicated single mother and doctor who has been burned by love, Maggie likes to be in control. She is super organized and a bit insecure after the constant berating of her ex-husband. She is such a relatable and realistic woman who reminded me of one of my friends. Seb is very different from Maggie. A fun-loving and care-free man, Seb lives in the moment and is more impulsive. Much like Maggie, he is also very family-oriented, awesome with kids, and has a big heart.

The slow-building romance between Maggie and Seb is so sweet! They didn’t rush into a relationship, which I liked, especially considering there are kids involved, and they really got to know each other before jumping into anything. I also like that they don’t try to change each other. Maggie’s ex-husband squelched her identity and mocked her interests. I like how supportive and accepting Seb is. He gives her that confidence that her ex took from her, especially when he becomes her dance partner!

This is a sweet story with a slow-building and charming romance. I love the themes of friendship, family, and embracing life. Thanks so much to Harper Collins, NetGalley, and the author for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

Strictly Come Dating by Kathryn Freeman is an entertaining romantic comedy. Two adults are getting their second chance at a forever kind of love. This story was sad, funny, and charming. The protagonists were realistic. A woman is facing the raising of her kids mostly alone. Her and her husband have gone their own ways. She was doing just fine until her friend's brother comes back into town. He is still suffering an emotional baggage of his own. He was always a disappointment to his own father. He feels that he needs to prove himself to others and mainly to himself. He spends time with Maggie and her kids. The more time they spend together the more comfortable they are.

Each character pushes the other to find his/her own potential. Neither one diminishes the other. The support they gave and took from each other was equal in giving. Maggie has a lot to risk and not just her heart. Her children becoming attached to the new man in her life and what the future may or may not hold for them all. Being hurt by her husband has made her cautious. I loved these characters. Overall, this was truly a heartfelt and engaging read.

This was a great fun read that I enjoyed from beginning to end.

Maggie is a Doctor and a recently divorced mum of two. She enjoys her life being super organised and is finding little room in her life to get back to some of the hobbies she had before her ex husband made her change her mind.

The main excitement in the life of Maggie is her Saturday night watching strictly with her best friends. She loves the glitz, glamour and sparkles of it all and loves spending time with her best friends too.

Maggie's friends are keen for her to move on with her life and put herself first again. So when they hear about how much Maggie enjoyed dance classes they encourage her to start them again. Maggie, having lost her confidence is reluctant to begin with but decides to go.

Maggie finds out when she starts classes that all the single men there are short and bald so her friends suggestion of romance happening at her class does not seem like it will happen. That is until the handsome Seb becomes her knight in shining amour.

Seb is the brother of Maggie's best friend Sarah. He is used to travelling the world, being single and not having a care in the world. That all changed when his father became ill and Seb came to stay with Sarah.

Maggie and Seb enjoy the dance classes and there are sparks of romance between the pair of them as they begin to learn to dance together. The more time they spend together the more Maggie feels herself drawn to Seb. Could he be her new happy ending?

This is such an uplifting, fun and romantic read that I loved from beginning to end. The writing style of Kathryn Freeman is one I do enjoy reading as it flows well and I find all of the characters to be very believable. I love the romance in this book and at times you can feel the sparks leaping off of the pages.

The main characters in the book are Maggie and Seb. Maggie is still trying to find her confidence again after it took a huge knock from her ex husband. She has some amazing friends who are helping her with this as well as the incredibly hot Seb.

Seb is finding it hard being back and living with his sister, but with their father being so poorly he really felt like he had no other option.

The dance classes they go to sound like great fun and this really does make Maggie happy.

This is truly a brilliant and fun read that will take you away from life for a while and lift your heart.

Loved this book! I loved the chemistry between Maggie and Seb. Adored Tabby and Penny. Seb may be my new book boyfriend. And reading a book where they visit the town you grew up...just perfect! Slightly homesick now. Lol!!! Love Kathryn Freemans books!

[Thanks Netgalley for the ebook. This review is my honest opinion but just another opinion, you should read this book and judge it by yourself]
I've loved this book!
It's an easy reading full of good moments and with a Hero so lovely that goes straight to my favourites. It's well written and I couldn't put it down, I was hooked! It the perfect reading for times like this, when you need something full of charm, love, and laughter. I specially loved that Maggie was older than Sebastian ❤.

A sweet slow-burn romance, filled with heart and laughter, and the perfect way to forget about real life for a while.

Every Saturday, recently divorced Maggie and her two best friends - twin sisters Sarah and Alice - get together to watch Strictly Come Dancing. Maggie has always had a passion for dance, but her ex-husband never wanted to take any dance classes with her, so she has resigned herself to live vicariously through the celebrities trying to learn a whole new routine every week. But then one Saturday, Sarah and Alice's younger brother Seb shows up with them to watch Strictly. Maggie is determined to resist his charms, no matter what those butterflies in her stomach want her to do. It was all going to plan, until Sarah and Alice convince Maggie to take dancing lessons and Seb shows up unexpectedly to save her from having to dance with a mop. How is she supposed to resist funny, kind and caring Seb now that he sweeps her across a dancefloor every week?

This was hands-down my favourite Kathryn Freeman novel so far. Maggie is such an authentic character, so recognisable from real life. The chemistry between Maggie and Seb is tangible from the start, and it was the most delightful torture to have to wait for the two of them to finally take that leap of faith together and for Maggie to finally rediscover how to have some fun after too many years of only being the responsible parent. The interactions between Maggie's kids and Seb were some of my favourite scenes in the whole novel, turning me into a gooey pile of happiness.

What a fun read!! Maggie was so damn likable, I almost wanted to start this book over when I finished it! I've never seen the movie How Stella Got Her Groove Back but based on the title that is all I can think about this book--How Maggie Got Her Groove back! I also now want to know what Strictly Come Dancing is...it sounds so fun!

I received an advance copy. All thoughts are my own.
