Lark, Jessica and Holly are three successful women. They are bright, professional, well adjusted. What was it that made then go overboard for Jon, Jack or Jonathan Wright all at once. How on earth did the man juggle three relationships keeping all the women happy, one was with three children keeping them happy as well. More than being a sex addict as what is played out at the end, he should be called a master juggler - balancing time, thought, care and affection to three women whilst also managing business/es giving off an image of a successful businessman and he was, and then also being a bigamist so blatantly, so openly it took your breath away. The three women fortunately were strong enough to come out of the whole game of his bested but not beaten. That was the good part of the story for me. They came together to beat him at his own game. hit him where it hurt the most (the finances) and he ended up the loser though like a Sphinx he metamorphised himself again. Not in their worlds fortunately. Very well written, nice characterization, keeping you wanting to know more, this was a good book for me right now in time of a second lockdown. |
This was an unexpected read, and not an unpleasant one at all! While the name of the novel itself sort of implies the plot, you definitely can't plan for the intensity that you feel while reading. The main male character and the circumstances he created in the story gave this book a ''Catch Me If You Can'' kind of a vibe, which I don't mind at all. The book is divided into short chapters, which are easy to get through and make it more enjoyable! If you prefer shorter chapters, and a quick-paced read, this is for you. Each chapter is named after one of our main characters, particularly the three main women of the story: Lark, Jessica and Holly. I thought it was very easy to follow the story of all three ladies with the ''main man'' of the story and we could chronologically see how things developed through different perspectives. This was an excellent choice of writers! The first 10% of the book we are introduced into the story and from that point on we are following the chaos that happens. I loved the female characters, as they were all intelligent, strong and GOOD women above all, although all from very different walks of life. It gave the reader the understanding that this kind of a story could happen to ANY woman, and not a ''certain type of a woman''. JT (Jack-John-Trip) was a character that I didn't completely understand, especially in the first half of the book. All I saw was a charming, unpredictable, rich, cheat and that was about it. We knew that he was famous and had connections everywhere, and he was so charming to the point where everything he said or did had to be true. He was just that believable. But then towards the middle and the end of the story I got a glimpse into what he really was - a narcissistic, heartless, master manipulator. If you've ever been in a relationship with a manipulative, cold, selfish, self-centered douche bag, you will relate a lot to this book. I think the writers were able to capture perfectly the behaviour and characteristics of JT, and present as realistically as possible what kind of a person JT was. This gives us a better understanding of how he could do what he did, coldly and without second-thoughts. One of the last chapters that provided a look into his thoughts was just cherry on top of a sundae. The part where Holly kicks off revenge plans was the most fun part of the book for me, as it became significantly more exciting! One thing I do wish, is that I could hear more from JT's perspective throughout the book, and not just about him through the perspective of other women. I especially appreciate ''One does not simply walk into Mordor'' reference from Lark towards the end of the book! This is definitely a different kind of thriller, and I haven't read a book like this so far. I thoroughly enjoyed it! |
This book was different from my usual reads. Nevertheless I enjoyed it. The book was well written flowed smoothly.. I didn't want to put it down there were twists and when the truth started being revealed I was hooked. There were some amazing female characters that were very different from each other. Jessica, Holly, and Lark didn't need rescuing they were strong and I liked that about them. Mr Wright was irredeemable and I still had questions for him. But all in this was an enjoyable read. |
Holly met Jack in medical school. They have built a beautiful life that includes three wonderful children and a successful business. Handsome and charming Jack travels often for work and Holly’s suspicion escalates as he becomes more and more distant. Jessica has just been named as medical director at a successful start up in Chicago. Having just completed her oncology residency she dreamed of changing the world. Jonathan’s surprising job offer seemed too good to be true - not to mention their secret steamy romance. Lark, a hip young game designer meets Trip in a bar. Normally this blue haired beauty wouldn’t look twice at an older man sitting a few seats away. With her sales pitch looming Lark decides to have some fun if only to take her mind off of her trembling nerves. Three women. One very attractive wealthy man. Read on, ladies - I don’t want to give anything else away but this suspenseful drama is absolutely unputdownable! |
Thank you to Netgalley, Linda, and Lake Union for an advance copy of The Three Mrs. Wrights. What a fun book! Mr. Wright is all wrong. He has a wife with whom he's built a beautiful life complete with three children. But why have one wife when you could have three? Your typical self-made, big shot sociopath, we follow the three women he has pulled into his mess of lies. The plot itself was fun - reminiscent of John Tucker Must Die and The Other Woman, however The Three Mrs. Wrights also had more to the story than "these three women are involved with the same man." All three of the women are strong, focused, successful women which adds a whole extra level of 'girl power' to the story. I enjoyed all the characters, even Jonathan Wright. He was the kind of villain that you enjoy to read about mainly because you're anticipating and hoping for his downfall. All of the girls had their flaws, of course, but they felt like girls that my friends or I could be. Supporting cast, although we don't learn too too much about them were also good, they felt necessary despite us not spending too much time with them. I did go into this thinking it would be a little more mystery/thriller rather than pretty much strictly fiction/women's fiction, but that didn't take away from my enjoyment...I actually am surprised how much I liked it despite the lack of a mystery/suspense aspect. |

*received for free from netgalley for honest review* wild read, mostly bc i just dont get how people can juggle 3 different lives AND have a job lmao 4.5 liked the ending |
This was an interesting book! Jon, Jack - whatever name he is going by is a successful entrepreneur. He has his own business that his wife Holly helped him start. As the years went by and business grew he decided to acquire more wives which Holly was initially unaware of. After looking the other way for years Holly has had enough. As she starts to dig into her husband’s business dealings and his secretive personal life she finds more than she was expecting, including the fact that she isn’t the only Mrs Wright. I thought this book was well done. It definitely kept my interest as I waited for the dominoes to fall |
Aw I really lobes this story.. I'd highlt recommend it for a lighter read but emotional. And shocking too xx |

There wasn't anything really bad about this book, but there wasn't anything really good either. I struggled to connect with any of the three women, which made it pretty much impossible to care about what happened next. It reminded me of a redone John Tucker Must Die, which at least had the bonus of being a movie with actors I already liked, which hooked me into watching. |

Very interesting, couldn't put it down. The plot flowed and was not boring. The women were all strong characters. I enjoyed reading it. |
Thank you NetGalley and Lake Union Publishing for this gifted copy for an honest review. Mr. Wright is very good at lying and keeping his stories straight without floundering. I don’t know how any man can be with three women at the same time without being exhausted, but he sure pulls it off for longer than what seemed possible. I enjoyed reading the lives of the three women who are all interesting with a lot going for them, except when it comes to love. At times I wanted them to question Mr. Wright more on his whereabouts, and the tension could have been increased with near misses. I liked the storyline of Mr. Wright’s work and how his character carried through both personally and professionally as a lying cheat. Overall, it was an enjoyable read with an epic ending. |
DNF @ 50% Absolutely nothing is happening so far. I just have not been invested enough in any of these characters or the plot. Not for me. |

Wow, what an enjoyable novel! What I anticipated to be a fluffy, dramatic tale of a cheating charmer ended up being a much deeper evaluation of three women and the conflicting inner dialogues and circumstances that make it challenging for women to leave a relationship or accuse a partner of disloyalty. This is a story about Lark, Holly and Jessica, who all believe they are in monogamous relationships with the one and only Trip/Jack/Jon. All three women are at different stages of their relationship with him. All three women have different hopes and dreams for themselves and their own careers. The story follows their lives, describing how Trip/Jack/Jon is able to lie so convincingly for so long until they begin to question his tiny slip-ups. On top of that, there are some major Theranos vibes surrounding Trip/Jack/Jon's groundbreaking startup. He may be lying about more than just his love life... I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from these authors. |
I love when I find.a book like this -- comes out of nowhere and a gem I can just dive into!! I've never read one of their books before but this one was pure genius!! I loved how they did the 3 POVs and don't let us into Jack/Jon/Trip's head until the very end!! Standing ovation!! |
Song/s the book brought to mind: Who's Cheatin' Who by Alan Jackson Mr. Wright has quite the life, he is rich and successful, and he also has... three partners? Lark, Jessica, and Holly all have different versions of Mr. Wright and he is known by a different name to each of them. The Three Mrs. Wrights by Linda Keir is like a soap opera, and I loved the fact that it was narrated by all three of the ladies this guy is with. It was a little like a train wreck and he was able to get away with so much that it blew my mind a little bit. I thought the pacing was fantastic considering not too much was actually happening, and it was interesting seeing how each woman fit into the story. I especially enjoyed when their stories intertwined and even though Holly is the true Mrs. Wright, I couldn't help but feeling sorry for ALL of them. It was a pleasant surprise to find out Linda Keir is actually a writing duo made up of Linda Joffe Hull and Keir Graff. The story was so seamless that I literally thought it was one author until I got to the acknowledgements page. I was able to get the audio via Kindle Unlimited, so I decided to do that while following along in my eBook and I'm pretty happy I went that route. Teri Schnaubelt narrated the whole thing and I really liked her voice and the way she did it. I hadn't realized she has narrated so many books, and I will definitely be looking for others she has done. She made the perfect Lark/Jessica/Holly, and even though I like when there are different people for different viewpoints I loved Schnaubelt doing all of them in The Three Mrs. Wrights. It doesn't dig too deep, but if you are just looking for an escape or something fun to read, I would recommend The Three Mrs. Wrights. Especially if you like soapy, domestic dramas. Mr. Wright was a hideous man, but I loved the women and the end felt satisfying. The book was very engaging and even though I wish there may have been a bit more to it, overall it was a super fun read that kept me going, and I will definitely be looking into more by this author duo! Thank you to the publisher for my advance review copy via NetGalley. All opinions and thoughts are my own. |
The title definitely tells you a lot what the book is about. Cheating, scandal, lies.... this book had all the elements of a pathological liar in the works and so good at being a con artist. Mr. Wright was many people, and to all 3 of his endeavors besides all the rest not talked about it was such a good read! This reminded me of a cross between "Something to Talk About"with Julia Robert's giving it the old school feel and a newer twist of "The Other Woman" which I loved both movies! Told from three different women.... Holly, Jessica, and Lark; and bringing it all together in the end it was easy to follow with all the characters and keep up with the story. The beginning started a little slow for me just getting through the introductions but it didn't take long to get into it.Thank you Netgalley for the read to rate and review with my honest opinions. |
Yes, this is exactly what I wanted in a thriller - something that grabbed ahold of me in the beginning and then kept me guessing all the way through. True to life, a man can only have side women so long before stuff hits the fan and things explode.. and that's exactly what happens. Lies are always uncovered and this book leaves the reader front and center for all the drama. Thank you Netgalley and Lake Union Publishing for allowing me to give my honest opinion. |
What a fascinating read! I went into this book not knowing what to really expect and it was a great book. Three different women are all involved with the same man. One is married to him and has 3 children, one is engaged to him and works with him every day to detect cancer, and one just pitched him on her brilliant idea. Throughout the book they all don't suspect anything even though he's splitting time between the three of them. Towards the end when the women begin to find out about each other, things unravel. I liked how it ended and what happened to each character. It was a good book to read and really reminds someone that you might not ever really know someone, even if you love them. |
If The Wives by Tarryn Fisher and The Whisper Network by Chandler Baker had a baby, you would get The Three Mrs. Wrights. All three women are of different ages, at different points in their lives, and are all powerful. They all are romantically and financially involved with the same man. While Jon/Jack/Trip thinks his cover ups in more than just his relationship are solid, these three women are chipping away at those cracks he didnt see coming. I loved Holly for her heart, I loved Jessica for her smarts, and I loved Lark for zany ideas and creativity (that ending, *chefs kiss* ). Three strong women getting revenge. I really liked seeing these women coming together in solidarity and sticking it to him but I wont go into any more detail. Thank you Netgalley and Lake Union Publishing for the review copy. |
I had a hard time with this book because it couldn't keep me into the story. I know many people have been enjoying this book but for me it was just ok. Not something I would buy and read again. |
