This was an interesting book! Jon, Jack - whatever name he is going by is a successful entrepreneur. He has his own business that his wife Holly helped him start. As the years went by and business grew he decided to acquire more wives which Holly was initially unaware of. After looking the other way for years Holly has had enough. As she starts to dig into her husband’s business dealings and his secretive personal life she finds more than she was expecting, including the fact that she isn’t the only Mrs Wright. I thought this book was well done. It definitely kept my interest as I waited for the dominoes to fall. |
Honestly, books like this just make me not want to ever date again. I mean, I trust my boyfriend and all, but hell! This story takes place in the eyes of four people - a man, and the three women he's deceiving. It's an all out cluster, but so, so much fun (and also a little too scary). One of the women - Lark -I found very interesting, and she's probably the one that I could most identify with. When I was reading about the other two women, I almost wanted to skip ahead and get to Lark's part, but I didn't. The whole book is just a good, fun time. Even if it seems a little too good to be true (ha! which is what all these ladies think at some point. 4/5 Stars |
Ms. Keir hit it out of the part with this wonderful book that looks at the scheming of one man into the lives of three very different women. This book did a nice job of drawing you in and not portraying the woman as victims that needed to be saved. The book had a very nice flow to it with an ending that left me satisfied with the read. Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this for an honest review. |
I received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review. In all honesty, I thought about this book several times and after getting an ARC, it took me days to start reading it. It intrigued me enough that I kept being drawn back to this particular book. But read it, I did, so don't be like me and let the title throw you off. This book was intriguing and flowed so smoothly, in fact, I think it flowed as smoothly as the three women's relationships with Mr. Wright until they started realizing things. Then we get to the unraveling and that kept me reading because you never know where we are going. Then came the end and once again the ending was nothing like I thought or ever would have thought. This book was before, during, and after reading it was nothing I thought it would be but it was a book that amazed me, took me on a journey, and was full of surprises. Very satisfying and oh so smooth. |

Amazing - Could not put this book down! So good, such great character development, and loved the ending! Looking now for more books by this author. |
I'm super torn on this one. On one hand, I really enjoyed it. Told in 3 distinct voices - you slowly learn the lives of three women, Holly, Jessica and Lark, and how they are intersecting with the same man, Jonathan Mitchell Wright, III. You know up front how these three women connect and can easily see all the dots and connecting pieces (and even the ones that clearly don't.) But This is not a Mystery. Not a suspense Thriller. I'm completely confused on why the top 7 shelves on Goodreads show this is how people are shelving this. My expectations were for a mystery that absolutely never happened. I knew every step of the way what was going on. The first 80% of the book is just connecting all the pieces of the three lives and watching them unfold - the only mystery is when the parties will know what you already know as the reader. I found the story easy to read, enjoyable and well written. I would have definitely rated it higher had I had the correct expectations going in to it. |

With his businesses and constant travels Jonathan Wright manages to maintain three romantic relationships simultaneously. From the point of view of the three women (Lark, Holly and Jessica) we can see how these love stories started and how Jon (also know as Trip or Jack) keeps the stories he creates along the way. In each chapter we follow one of the women, which allow us to see how strong these women are but I confess that I liked Jessica's chapters less because despite being an intelligent woman she is very dependent on Jon and when the whole truth starts to come out she can't keep a few things to herself, giving Jon some trumps. I also think that sometimes it's given a lot of information that we don't need what makes the reading a little slow but it was a really great read. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
This is a good book with quite a few twists and turns. I really enjoyed reading it and I especially liked the story being told from the different perspectives. |
Jonathan Mitchell Wright, III is a wealthy man. He is married to Holly, a pediatrician, and they are the parents to three children. Holly is very involved in a charity called Horse Stability for the rehabilitation of displaced horses. Jack is the CEO of Cancura which has developed a way for children to take a chewable vitamin that can detect childhood cancers before any symptoms develop. Holly and Jonathan live in Barrington Hills, a wealthy suburb of Chicago. Sounds like the perfect family, right? Nope. It turns out that Jonathan is a serial cheater. Not just the occasional one night stand. Nope. Jonathan takes things much further. Jessica is a very intelligent research doctor who was wooed by Jonathan from a lucrative job to work for Cancura. With Jessica, he calls himself Jack and they soon fall into a relationship as he tells her his wife is crazy and they are almost divorced. Then they can marry. Lark has designed a board game and is looking for someone to front her the money she needs to promote it. She happens to meet Jonathan, calling himself Trip, in a bar. Falling into a relationship, he sets her up in an office and helps her get her game promoted. Can Jonathan keep these relationships secret as he juggles them? What would happen if this situation came to light? I always get a chuckle out of stories about men with multiple girlfriends or even multiple wives. I shake my head at the audacity of someone doing that. But in the end, people are left hurt. These guys are total jerks. Good book. Enjoy. What an intense story! How can Mr. Wright be so wrong?! He makes each woman feel as though they are his only love. How does he keep things straight? How do the women not know about each other? Pick up this book and see how the women give Mr. Wright everything he deserves. |
I liked this but didn't love it. There wasn't anything omg worthy, but it was an interesting read. I like the title and the play on words! |
Absolutely one of my favorite books of the year! 5 stars. This is not normally my preferred genre. I LOVED it! I will be recommending this to everyone. It was so well written. The multiple perspectives made the story much brighter and realistic. I read this book in 24 hours. I stayed up late reading it. I finished it in the morning and am just floored. So good! |
Wow this is one twisted read, but one that is oh so entertaining. Linda Keir knows how to get the reader sucked in and turning those pages that’s for sure. The Three Mrs. Wright is such an addictive read and is one that will have you turning the pages well into the night. The premise immediately drew me in and was actually quite timely with me reading it having become fascinated by the TV show Sister Wives, which documents the life of a polygamist family. It is quite surreal that this is a real thing, but the difference in The Three Mrs. Wrights is that the women don’t know about each other. The story is told from the points of view of Holly, Jessica and Lark as they tell of their experiences with who they know as Jack, Jonathan and Trip. Each have been very well written and developed and I just felt for each of them and their situations, especially Jessica and Lark as they fall head of heels for the charismatic and charming Mr Wright. Mr Wright, is just so Mr Wrong! Oh how this man made me angry. Such a despicable character, but in saying that, has been perfectly written in the role as a villain. I must say though, that he was pretty good at keeping things straight, but his downfall was definitely underestimating how smart the three women actually were. Girl power at is finest! This is the first book I have read from Lina Keir and it wasn’t until I was writing this review that I found out that this is a pen name for writing duo Linda Joffe Hull and Keir Graff. I was really surprised by this and was impressed with how in sync they are with each other, making it feel like it has just been written by one. I look forward to reading more of their work. The Three Mrs. Wrights is gripping, intense, deceitful and very wicked. The short chapters make for a quick and smooth read and the final showdown is a fist pumping affair that could not have been done more perfectly. Take that Mr Wright!! It was a pleasure to read and review The Three Mrs. Wrights which I recommend. Thank you to Linda Keir, Lake Union Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me to read an advanced copy of The Three Mrs. Wrights which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily. |
I was a little concerned when I first read the title thinking that this would be just like every other philandering man cheating on his wife and none of the women know. For the most part it stuck to that tale. However I liked the added on layer of the business and financial realm. The inserts of different quotes from Jon and his TED talk were really insightful to the progression of the story. Another aspect I enjoyed was the different chapters told about the different characters. The ladies offered a unique touch for each of their own lives. I did feel slightly confused by all of the company talk with Cancura and where Jon got all of his money from. The details of his living arrangements seemed a little odd too seeing as how he lived in 2 different homes completely. But he was rarely home and these women just assumed it was all work. So, were they in the relationship for the benefits he added just as much as the ones he gained? I loved how the authors provided details, but not too many. I liked how they slowly pushed in the inconsistencies and issues with Jon’s stories. It gave it that realistic touch needed with infidelity and multiple relationships. It was a quick read and left you wanting to know when the women would find out. I enjoyed the ending and fast forward view. |
This book was between a 3 and 4 star for me. I decided to side with the 3 mostly for missed opportunities. It was a good book but it could have been so much better! Obviously, going in to the book the reader knows where it is headed, right? It has to end where it does. The question is how he got himself three wives and how they find out and exact their revenge. This is where I felt the book took a misstep. Way too much time was spent focused on Jonathan Mitchell Wright III getting himself into a crazy situation with three wives and very little time was spent on revenge. I wanted to read close calls between them all running in to each other, slippery situations he had to work himself out of, and then how it all culminates in them getting together, commiserating, wringing their hands, and devising an evil wicked Macbeth's three witches kind of revenge. That fell short. It seemed like Ms. Keir ran out of steam or out of pages allocated to her completed book and the end was tied up in a bow way too quickly. I was disappointed! |
I had high hopes for this book because it kind lf reminded me of The Wives by Taryn Fisher but I was left disappointed. It was basically one man playing 3 women the whole story. He was a total narcissist and I kept hoping for this huge woman empowerment moment where the three women joined forces and gave him the biggest F U of his life and it was literally just a blip of a few paragraphs and then fast forward a few months. As much as I built up my hatred for Mr Wright, I expected some satisfaction from his downfall and getting to laugh and gloat but its like the author was so done with writing she wrapped it up super quick. |
This was the first book out of my normal romcom genre and I can honestly say I'm so glad I read this. There were so many twists it was hard to keep up and half the time I was having anxiety for all parties involved! I'm not sure I saw that ending coming...This would definitely make for a good Lifetime movie one day! If you like a good suspense story regarding marriage/relationships then this one is definitely for you. 5 out of 5 stars! One of the top 3 books I've read in 2020! Lark, an up & coming board game designed from California, falls head over heads while at a hotel on business with Trip, an older, handsome investor. Jessica, a newly minted MD, can't resist Jonathan, a brilliant doctor on a path to cure childhood cancer. And Holly, a part-time pediatrician & mother of 3, enjoys her life with her husband, Jack, despite him often being out of town on business. Only one thing is wrong, their loving partner is the same man. Will Mr. Wright's lies catch up with him or can he come out unscathed? Definitely a page turner that will keep you wanting to read more! I enjoyed the shift in perspective in chapters as story unfolded. Living in Chicago I especially enjoyed that part of the book was set here, as it's fun to know exactly the places they are at! Thank you Linda Keir, Lake Union Publishing, and Netgalley for providing me with an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. #TheThreeMrsWrights #NetGalley |

He had the looks, he had the money and he used it to charm the women. Although, Jack, Jonathan or Trip (depending on the woman he was with), has been married to Holly for 20 years, it didn’t stop him from pursuing other women and even marrying one of them. These woman thought they’d found the one and were surprised when they learned the truth. But instead of working against each other, they band together to make him pay. . If you are looking for a quick read, scandalous plot line and something you can’t put down, check this one out. A little predictable but oh so fun! |
This book is so out of my normal reding genre, but I enjoyed it do much! As the title kinda suggest this guy, Mr Wright, has three wives/girlfriends. And as you can guess, these three women do not know each other! In each chapter we follow on of these women, first we get to know them and what their relation is with Mr Wright, or Jonathan. He uses a different name with all of them, but you do kinda know it is the same guy even though it is not said. I really enjoyed seeing how he was very different with all of them and also how these three women were very different from each other! Jonathan has set up this company that wants to detect cancer in children before it can do any damage. I really liked seeing how this part of the story was woven into the story of the three women. It explained lots of his travels and visiting his wives/girlfriends. I also really enjoyed how they figured everything out in the end! And how they ‘solved’ everything! This story was very intriguing! I could not put it down, and read it all in three days! I hope this short review convinced you to pick this one up! It was very good, very quick, and very well written! (I just don’t know how to review these type of books without giving too much away!) |
