It’s just a really lovely seasonal book. A great festive read that’s the right amount of lighthearted and warm. It’s prefect for cold dark nights curled up with a warm blanket and a hot cuppa. .

I am not sure where the title meet me in London comes from, but it does open it up for a series of meet me in somewhere else etc
Fashion designer and bar worker Victoria agrees to pretend to the fiance of rich chain store owner Oliver to help him keep on the good side of his parents.
Without spoiling the story you can guess what happens.A fairytale story, light read but still enjoyable.

Absolutely top class for a debut novel! A sweet story filled with well-rounded characters. Both Oliver and Victoria have had events in their young lives that have deeply affected how they deal with life, both of them to a large extent have shut themselves off from normal relationships. For Oliver it was being an only child to older parents, being sent away to boarding school at a young age, feeling he wasn’t important. For Victoria it was a horrendous accident after her school prom, not her fault but she has always blamed herself. One of her friends ended up in a wheel hair for life, and Victoria had life-changing injuries that changed her view of the world.

She works as a barmaid, living in a flat above the premises, and in her spare time she teaches a group of girls from deprived families how to sew, and design and make their own clothes. Oliver comes into the pub one night after work, and they talk for a while, Victoria discovers he works in the new fancy department store that is soon opening along the street. They meet by chance soon after, and he shows her round the store, and she makes suggestions on how he could integrate with the other shop owners, and improve things for everyone.

Soon they are meeting or texting regularly, and he makes her an offer she cannot refuse because it will be life-changing for her students, but her head tells her it is dangerous territory. And so it proves! They are fiercely attracted to one another, but Victoria keeps pulling back, she doesn’t want to tell her secret. There are many twists and turns until the grand opening of the store, and the reaction to Victoria and the girls catwalk fashion show is a resounding success. Disaster strikes right afterwards, and. Victoria runs away, back home where her three closest friends have come from round the world to support her. They don’t have too long because Oliver is hot on her heels. He has found out her secret ... and it doesn’t matter! A really satisfying ending for everyone in the book who deserves it!

A very enjoyable read.

This was Georgia Toffolo’s debut novel and it was an absolute treat and a wonderful Christmas romance. The storyline started off a little bit slow but it soon picked up and become very addictive. I loved both Victoria and Oliver and was routing for them from the beginning. Both are such likeable characters which made me enjoy it even more. I also liked that Toff touched on some heart-breaking subjects but addressed them in such a sensitive way and it was beautifully written! I listened to the audiobook which I loved as it was great hearing the author narrate. My only suggestion would be for it to be read by both a male and female as I got a bit lost with who was talking at times.
Overall, it was a brilliant debut novel and I cant wait to see what Toff writes next!

*Many thanks to NetGalley and Mills & Boon for the audiobook in exchange for an honest review*

From time to time I love picking up an easy read book that draws you in and gives you a great big hug - this is one of those books.

The characterisation is strong (although it did take me a while to get the female protagonist down in age - perhaps due to the choice of name and love of vintage style), the story involved and the writing slick. It's a book I finished quickly and didn't find myself analysing. If I were to analyse, I would say that this is a standard M&B romance but that would do the book a disservice.

This should make the perfect stocking filler that will encourage the recipient to curl up in front of a fire and take a bit of time out for themselves. We all need an "Oliver" in our lives!

With huge thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.

Wow, an amazing debt book from Georgia Toffolo.

I loved this story and sometimes with 'celebrity books' they are all the same type of rom com read. However this has an original plot and also deals with a few issues at the same time. The story is about Victoria and Oliver. Victoria works in a pub but dreams of having her own fashion collection. Oliver is heir to a massive department store chain and is currently opening a new store close to where Victoria lives and works. The two cross paths and Victoria agrees to pretend to be Oliver's fake fiance. I don't want to say any more about the plot because I don't want to spoil it.

I loved both the characters and I loved that the story is told from both their POV's. I was very quickly hooked into the book and couldn't put it down. There are also a few moments that will make you laugh as you read it. It is very easy to read and has a good pace to the story. This is a great debut book which is a fun, light-hearted christmas read. I also hope we get more from these characters or even the stories of Victoria friends as I would love to read more about them.

Overall a great magical christmas read.

Thank you to Netgalley and Mill's and Boon for the opportunity to read this early.

This is a wonderful, heartwarming book, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It is perfect for this time of the year, as near the end of the book, it is Christmas time. The book is about a woman called Victoria and a man called Oliver, who pretend they are in a romantic relationship with each other and they go on to become close and have a lovely friendship. I loved the characters of the book, the story and the ending of the book. I loved all of it!

Many thanks to the author, publisher and netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a very good debut novel by the author.

It’s a classic love story with a modern twist. Sadly I felt the ending was very obvious with only one or two minor twists. What I didn’t know was that this is going to be the first in a series using the same friendship group as the characters, focusing on a different main character each book. I did enjoy it as it was easy to read and although a tad predictable at times it definitely helped give me that feel of escapism that we all so desperately need at the moment.

Having said that it is a book I’d recommend as a light hearted easy read. Perfect for a beach read.

This is a really delightful debut novel from Georgina Toffolo which is completely immersible. Victoria works in a bar in Chelsea, but her passion is designing clothes, she dreams of opening her own boutique. Oliver is a successful businessman whose mother is expecting to meet his, non-existent, fiancé at the opening of his new store. As an exchange, Victoria pretends to be Oliver’s fiancé in return for showcasing some of her designs at his store opening.

Victoria is a wholesome character, a really good girl who is passionate about sharing her love for design with the teenagers she teaches, she is truly a loveable character. Oliver took me a while longer to warm to but is also quite loveable and before long I was invested in both characters and wanted to see how their fake relationship developed. I was rooting for it to turn into more.

This is the ideal Christmas read, a nice and simple read, its simple escapism perfect for some feel-good romance.

A heartwarming and uplifting story that made me smile, root for the characters and it's the perfect escapist read.
I loved the well crafted plot, the festive atmosphere, the fleshed out characters.
It's the first story I read by this author and won't surely be the last.
Recommended.

I’m not sure I can put in to words how much I loved this book but I will try my best.

Victoria has a heart as big as the new department store opening nearby, but is damaged by the past. Her friends Malie, Zoe and Lily are all connected by the tragedy and have scattered themselves across the globe, but remain there for each other when needed. Then there is the rambunctious group of fashion students that Victoria is teaching in her home above the bar where she works. It’s in this said bar that Oliver Russell proposes to Victoria impulsively as a way to stop his overbearing mother from her continuous matchmaking. However what started as a silly idea soon becomes a business proposition that Victoria can’t turn down.

I absolutely adored Victoria and Oliver as characters, both have walls built up and you do wonder if anything is ever going to knock them down. She is kind, sweet and vulnerable while he has the weight of the family empire on his shoulders. A burden he doesn’t even want but with his father’s failing health and his inept cousin making mistakes the chance of a successful opening day is all down to him.

Getting the whole community involved (including Victoria’s horrible ex) with pop up shops, a fashion runway for her students as well as getting to know each other enough to pass off a fake engagement what could possibly go wrong? Well it turns out when those feelings start becoming real and the lines start to blur quite a lot.

With plenty of will they won’t they, some steamy moments, a hero to drool over and a story written with such tenderness Meet me in London will melt the hardest of hearts. This is a highly accomplished romance and one I can hand on heart thoroughly recommend.

P.S I told my mum about this book and she read it and said it passed the Holly Martin author bar which is high praise indeed.
