Really enjoyed this novel about an older woman's relationship with a younger teenage boy. The reflections on her life struggles, in her 40s, made for thought-provoking and engaging reading. The themes of age gaps and power dynamics were interesting, as the narrator has had 2 such relationships (once being the younger woman herself). The novel goes from 0-`100 really fast at the end, but it doesn't feel out of place. And the very last few pages really moved me. I won't spoil it, but I felt a sense of emotional release with the main character that had been built and built throughout the book. Would recommend.

This caught my eye as it’s an unusual storyline. A Lolita theme but the older person in the relationship being a woman.
I had no trouble getting into the book and loved how it was set in Italy . The authors description of the gin spritzers down to the history of Rome set the scene perfectly for this love story .
I loved it and devoured within a day .
I will be recommending and look forward to reading more from this author .
