This was a compelling read that I got through in one sitting. It's a psychological thriller that kept me guessing. I felt quite in the dark about what was going on until all was revealed. 

I definitely recommend this one to those who are fans of the genre.

This was a tautly written psychological thriller, and I really enjoyed the flawed narrator and the way that the author manipulated information throughout. It was cleverly done, and although I guessed some of the twists, I didn't see most of them coming . It's always a massive plus for me if I don't guess the ending of a novel as I like to be surprised, and this one was a shocker. Really well thought out, and brilliantly written - Naomi Joy is fast becoming one of my favourite authors.

Do Her No Harm follows the disappearance of Tabitha and its impact on her husband as well as her best friend Annabelle. Her husband is the main suspect but he claims he's innocent. Meanwhile Annabelle starts her own investigation as she can't trust the police... but can you trust her?

I will admit I picked this book because the blurb said it was for fans of Blood Orange and The Silent Patient, which are two of my favourite books of the year! This novel didn't disappoint!

I read Do Her No Harm over a few days. From the synopsis it sounded right up my street. An unsolved murder, the uncovering of secrets and a husband claiming innocence but the reality I found was a book that lacked pace and I just found boring. Sorry but this wasn’t for me. This author was a new one for me, I hadn't read any of her previous books.  The story is told in alternating POV's (which seems to be the normal now), revolving around the unsolved murder of Tabitha (Tabby).  Was it murder?  Who were the suspects?  Are the police following up leads?  Or was Tabby hiding things?

I read a lot of thrillers and suspense novels, and this one really doesn't stand out to me.  It's just another thriller.  I didn't feel strongly about any of the characters, and the pacing was rather slow at the beginning, so that I had a hard time really getting into the story.  IT was easy to put down for a while until about 60%.  

Overall it wasn't great and it wasn't terrible, so I'll go for the middle of the road and rate it 3 stars.  For someone new to thrillers, it might be a more engaging read, but it didn't really work for me.

I thought this book was juts okay. It was not bad, but I thought the shockers were a little bit obvious. I read a lot of thrillers, and maybe that is why I am good at guessing. Still, this author does write well and I would read more of her works. 

I thought the characters were pretty okay, and I did not hate any of them, But there was no one who stood out and made me really care about them, but still I was invested enough to keep reading the story to find out more. 

I kept reading because I thought I would be shocked. I was a few times, but the others I was able to guess easily. Still, it was still a pretty good book I enjoyed. 

This would be good for new readers of thrillers.

With Do Her No Harm ( Naomi Joy) I'm upping my 3 1/2 stars to 4 stars. It was a good story with twists and turns, but (for me) there was too much back and forth in different time periods and in different voices. I want to thank NetGalley and Aria for an early copy to review.

Tabatha and Annabella have been friends a long time. They even word in the same place. Tabatha being married to her husband Rick doesn't make a difference, the women are still friends and take time to have dinners, lunches and girls night out.
Then Tabitha disappears and is determined to have left on her own.  The public opinion is that she was murdered by her own husband, Rick. He is taken in for questioning but cannot be found guilty of any crime. Annabella thinks that he is indeed guilty of murdering her best friend. She sets out out to find the justice she knows her friend deserves. 
What she discovers may be detrimental to her very existence. 
Twisted, psychological weirdness at it's best!

Well, this is quite the struggle as we indulge in a murder but can't uncover the murderer -at least not yet!
Is Tabitha's husband to blame -Rick- after all it's almost always the person closest to the victim?
Or will Annabella her best friend, uncover the truth about Tabitha that will shock the pants off you?

I know one thing -somebody did want 'Tabby' gone...
Could this be a jealousy issue? A jilted lover? Or a murder for hire situation?

This is a thriller. The pacing did not better me, but it was just boring to me most of the book. I would not say this was the best or worst thriller I have read. It was just ok. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher or author via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review about how I feel about this book, and I want to send a big Thank you to them for that. I really enjoyed this book from the description to the contents. It’s intriguing when people go missing and those people who will not give up on finding their loved ones.  Annabelle never gave up and to follow the story given differ t angles was great. I found this book to be a page turner that reall t heated up in the last 59 pages of so and kept you guessing until the end.

This one starts of a bit slow but picks up pace in the 2nd half, and the last few chapters are a really wild ride!   The story centers on Annabella, whose best friend Tabitha (Tabby) disappeared 5 years prior- Annabella is determined to figure out what happened, and believes Tabby's husband Rick had something to do with it.  She teams up with a podcaster, Kay, to dig back into the details and see if she can uncover new evidence.  The story switches in POVs from Annabella in the current day, to Tabby 5 years ago, and Rick 13-14 years ago when he first met Tabby. 

I liked the switch between various voices because it gave me some insight into the characters.  I didn't really get Annabella, though- she said and did some weird things throughout that touched on a deeper look into her psyche but the author never full went there.  I also had trouble understanding the close friendship between her and Tabby- it felt rather one-sided and they didn't seem like people who would be in the same circles, so I didn't think it was super believable- I wish I could have gotten more into what drew them together.

The end of this book gives a great twist, and then an even greater twist when you think the story is over- that brought the whole thing home for me even though I wasn't fully invested earlier.  I would recommend that everyone see this book through, and they will not be sorry they did.

Good, not great. I thought the pacing was a bit too slow at times. To the extent where I was debating giving up. But the last 50 pages were WHOA. 

Characters are well done. Even when they’re annoying. 

The ending was definitely satisfying.

This was one of those books that once I started, I had a really hard time putting it down. Full of little twists and turns and questions and mysteries, this thriller is pretty dang captivating. For me, it wasn't too predictable, though I think when you read a lot of mysteries and thrillers, you get a sense for things. I enjoyed reading it, I liked the outcome. A pretty solid read! 
4/5 stars for me.

This was a creepy but compelling read. I never knew where it was headed and that kept me excited to read on. There were lots of threads to the story and I enjoyed seeing how everything came together in the end.

Five years ago Tabitha Rice disappears without a trace. Her husband Rick Priestley is suspected by some of involvement as he’s been having an affair. Her best friend Annabella hires a private investigator who uncovers precious little, she then teams up with podcaster Kay Robero who is obsessed with the case to try to get to the truth. The story is told principally by Tabby, Annabella and Rick and interchanges between the past and the present. 

First of all, I really like the differing and contrasting points of view which works effectively and keeps you changing your mind on Tabby’s whereabouts. You clearly see the impact of her disappearance on Rick and Annabella and to keep your interest there are some good revelations about the characters and you have no idea who or what to believe. They all carry baggage, often from their experiences growing up but this only serves to make it a more intriguing read. Rick and Tabby’s relationship from the early days when Rick is attending Oxford University is well portrayed in its turbulence. There’s disloyalty, obsession, lies, silence and sadness. As the story unfolds so characters unravel and the levels of intrigue mount. There are some dramatic moments when you realise that some of the characters are barely holding themselves together mentally and their actions are beyond questionable. The conclusion is good and surprising and I like that even at the finale there’s yet another secret to learn. 

Overall, a good, gripping, twisty read which I thoroughly enjoyed. I definitely want to read more by Naomi Joy.

I loved Tabitha's character in the book. Narration of the story is good.

This was a written book wherein the chapters alternate between Annabella, Tabitha and Rick. I did find some of the characters annoying at times but as I kept reading I found the story getting more interesting. 

Initially it was slow but as the twists and turns emerged, it kept me hooked on till the end. It had me guessing till the end even though most of my guesses were wrong.

Overall, an enjoyable and suspenseful read!

I was hooked on this book! I could not put it down. Just when you think you have everything figured out another revelation is revealed and I was proven wrong. This is my first book by this author but I will definitely read more of her books!
