Cleverly plotted thriller that combines action and romance much as the author did in the previous two books, bringing things to a satisfactory conclusion.

Wow! I’ve been waiting for The Price of Valor to learn Ham’s story and also to see how all the loose ends in both the Global Search and Rescue and The Montana Marshalls series tied up. And it was everything I hoped for, and more!

While the action seemed non-stop as Ham and his team journeyed to Italy to rescue his wife, Signe, there was still plenty of romance and heart-wrenching struggles with faith. Both Ham and Signe have flashbacks to their past, filling in details that showed tragedy and deep, abiding love.

I’ve admired Ham as I’ve gotten to know this born leader with a protective nature that can’t be stopped. But I wasn’t prepared for how much more my heart would be stolen by him! It was amazing how in his (literally) darkest times he sang hymns to remind himself of God’s goodness and deliverance. Though his faith wavered, it never failed.

Signe was not difficult to love, either. I was so intrigued by her and how she ended up in the circumstances she was in! However, by the time I learned more and became a little disgusted with choices she had made to serve her country, I already liked her enough that I hoped for the best for her and that she would be able to surrender her heart to the God she had never been able to trust in the past.

My favorite spiritual lesson here was that of forgiveness. Ham had plenty of reasons to hold a grudge against Signe. Yet he didn’t take the easy road, choosing instead to seek the power of the Holy Spirit to walk the narrow path and forgive. And what a struggle it was as he learned more and more about her past. His struggle intensified and his heart was shredded.

Many of the main characters from the two series that chronicle the events that concluded here make an appearance, some in big ways and others in minor roles. As everyone began to converge, I was thrilled to see them help to bring an end to the conspiracy that had so greatly impacted all their lives.

The only warning I am including is that Signe’s life during the years she was missing from Ham’s included violence toward her that readers should be aware of if they are sensitive to that in fiction. Susan May Warren handles this very tactfully and does not go into detail – it is merely mentioned as having happened and causing the emotional scars that resulted.

If you enjoy high adventure and suspense, The Price of Valor is a book you won’t want to miss. The events in this story take place just after those in The Montana Marshalls therefore I recommend reading those first.

This was a fantastic end to this series. It's chock full of exciting moments and heart pounding scenes. It was fun seeing the crossover characters from Susan's Montana Marshalls series be part of the book. The story moved well and was hard to put down. I had to keep reading to see what happened next. There were a few surprises along the way that kept me guessing. I also really appreciated the faith elements Susan wove into the story, Ham and Signe had a lot to overcome and I enjoyed how their faith helped them do that. This a compelling and exciting read that I definitely recommend!

I received this book from the publisher and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.

This story is an adventure from the beginning. I have really been enjoying this series and getting to read how they interact with each other. I do think it would be good to read the books in order so you become familiar with the characters. The author does an excellent job of reacquainting two people who have had a strained relationship. Navy Seal Hamilton is one tough person. He takes his job seriously and his daughter’s safety a high priority. The relationship he has had with the mother of his child is not exactly happy times. Ham has wondered what happened to Signe and if it is possible that a secret is being kept.

Signe I thought was a great character who was doing everything she could to keep Ham and their daughter safe. She is one person I would want on my side if I was going into harms way. Without giving away too much, let’s just say that the author explodes on the pages with secrets, deceit and danger at every turn. Can Ham and Signe forgive each other and work together? This has to be the best book I’ve read by this author. She takes risks and makes them work while using faith at the perfect times. Ham and Signe are center stage in the story with intense emotional moments that define their relationship. If you are wanting to read a story that has action, danger, surprises and a lesson on forgiveness, then grab a copy of this book.

I received a copy of this book from Revell Reads. The review is my own opinion.

Hamilton finds himself with a wife again. Thinking his wife was long dead, he discovers she has been kidnapped and has been living under false pretenses for the past ten years. When his daughter shows up out of the blue with a message from his wife, he has to decide what his next step will be. He has to make a tough choice and decide what is best all around.

I cannot imagine what it would be like to find out someone I loved and thought was gone was still around. It would be hard to make the tough decisions between heart and head.

I received a copy to read, the review is mine.

“That’s what I do. I look out for people. I help them. I don’t sit on my hands and wait. I find them and bring them home.”

I loved this series so much! This book had all the feels from the first to the last page. It was a nonstop adrenaline rush that will have feeling as if your heart is jumping right out of your chest. Seriously, the intensity just doesn’t stop. I had to take a few breaks just to calm down. If you are looking for a book and series that will spirit you away on an adventure with action, suspense, and romance, this is the perfect escape. It would make a blockbuster movie or series. I would recommend reading this series in order and maybe even the series prior (Montana Marshalls) to really love on all the characters. However, it is an epic book in it’s own right.

“She smiled at him. “A girl has to have her secrets.”’

Oh, Ham’s heart for Signe! I just had all the feels for this couple. As Hamilton Jones brings his team into the search for his missing wife and CIA Operative, Signe Kincaid, he knows this is the biggest battle of his life. His heart for her will tug at your heartstrings as they both have so many issues to overcome. I was inspired by how much he pursued her, knew her, and wanted to be right by her side. This love story truly pulled me into their struggles of doing what is best for their family and still wanting to protect their country.

We can’t forget about Orion and Jenny, whose relationship is on the rocks in overcoming a past that may steal their happily ever after. As God rescues this team over and over, I was so encouraged by how much God is in the midst of even the most minor and major details. I loved seeing the team work together, as well as seeing characters all come together for an epic standoff of good versus evil.

“God doesn’t write tragedies. He’s all about the happy ending. We just have to stick with him through the story, right?”

A riveting plot, though at times maybe a little over the top with adventures, it was an entirely gripping read that definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. If you enjoy books with action, adventure and overcoming the odds, I think you’ll love "The Price of Valor" and the entire Global Search and Rescue Series. Similar authors you might want to read are Ronie Kendig, Dani Pettrey, and Lynette Eason. Honestly, there is so much more I want to write, but you’ll just have to read it to enjoy the adventures that come with a Susan May Warren novel.

I was given an ARC by the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions given in this review are my own and given honestly.

This series has been a hit at our small library. This book is the third in the series but it also can be read as a stand-alone. The writing is superb. I like suspense and romance and will gladly recommend it to our readers.

Thanks to NetGalley and Revell for the ARC.

The Price of Valor starts out exciting and mysterious, which I loved, but also depressing because of the ruined marriage between Signe and Ham. It felt hard to continue reading past the first chapter until it got more upbeat in the second chapter with a marriage proposal. After that, I finished the book very quickly because of the intriguing plot and mysterious clues.

There are a lot of ups and downs with several relationships in this novel. It made it more interesting to see realistic fears and worries about each person's romantic feelings.

I’ve been wanting to read The Price of Valor since I read page one of The Way of the Brave. The wait was beyond worth it. In the conclusion of her wonderful Global Rescue series, Susan May Warren weaves love and mayhem to a magical result.

Hamilton Jones (Ham) married his high school sweetheart, Signe Kincaid, the woman who helped him survive a traumatic childhood and stole his heart in the process. She’s all grown up now, and after thinking she was dead but discovering she was alive and well, but on a CIA rogue list, he sets off to reclaim the love of his life.

But this is Susan May Warren, so obviously it won’t be that simple. And she’s on rare form in this book. A volcanic eruption, tsunami, and treasonous politician all stand between the pair.

Can Ham put his family back together before someone gets killed? Will Signe clear her name and be adjust to a normal life after years of abuse at the hands of a terrorist?

Mix those giant questions with the now beloved staff of Global Rescue, and throw in a handful of Montana Marshalls, and wow, have you got yourselves a truly great read. This is not a book to miss.

I would not have wanted to be on ECG or an EKG while reading this book. My heart rate was all over the place as the suspense was building in this wonderful story. What I love about Ham is that he does not give up on anyone. You see that especially here and you find out why. I love his drive and compassion. He has learned a lot about forgiveness and grace and how it is a continual process. He is a man that people will look up to and follow because he is not looking for praises. He has become one of my favorite heroes.

I received this book from the publisher and the opinions expressed are entirely my own.

The series Global Search and Rescue by Susan May Warren concludes with The Price of Valor. Those who have not read the previous two books should read them, as they help readers understand the situations in this story better. It is possible to read this as a standalone novel, but the richness and depth are significantly reduced. Those used to Susan May Warren's style will not be disappointed. Things start off rather quickly and just keep moving until the action causes the story to explode and then the dust can settle.

Hamilton Jones has been in several of the previous books, and he has always been a strong yet broken character. In this book his story finally gets to be told. It is told in such a way that readers can't help but feel great sorrow for all that he has endured. His fledgling relationship with his daughter is so tangibly fragile. Warren does a great job delving into the challenges of Hamilton's life. She really tugs at the heartstrings with his childhood memories.

Then comes the story of Signe Jones, Hamilton's wife. Everything finally begins to make sense. This story might be one of the most poignant yet. Warren really went all out on the emotional aspects of this character.

Susan May Warren is a master at creating all sorts of action and intrigue and yet her main focus is on her characters and their inner struggles. As has often been the case in her stories, Warren weaves in characters from several of her other popular series. This is a book one will want to read just to assure that it ends as one might hope, but does it?

I loved this series from Susan May Warren. I always enjoy when books are stand alone but connected in a series because you get to learn more after the other stories are done and this book did such a great job with that. I loved Reading more with Jake and Ali, Orion and Jenny and how their stories turn out. Ham and Signe's story was such a great ride. There were so many moving parts to it and everything she had to overcome but still was trying to uphold her commitment to her country was inspiring. Ham's love for her and Aggie was undeniable and I loved watching their relationship grow and prosper. Definitely pick up this series. You won't regret it. Romance, Friendship, Suspense, international affairs. It has it all.

The Price of Valor, by Susan May Warren, wraps up her Global Search and Rescue series. This tale will reunite former Navy SEAL Hamilton Jones with his friend, Signe Kincaid. Ham and Signe have known each other for years. At one point, they were actually man and wife. So when Ham is sent to retrieve state secrets from Signe, he does not know what to expect!
For the past ten years, Signe has been living on the compound of a known terrorist; therefore, Ham does not know where her loyalties lie. This tale is filled with action and unknowns that do not seem to end!

Watch and see if Ham and Signe are ever able to rebuild their broken relationship!

Did you ever read a book that was just so good and had such a complex story line you can only say "Wow". That is is story. So much substance going on. Great characters, great plot, great ending. A woman who gave up everyting for her country, her husband, her self respect and then her daughter. When Signe knows she can't keep their daughter safe any longer she drops her off to Ham and disappears again. This time Ham will not give up and will find her. What ensues is a plot against the president, unknown dangers, and deception which all comes to a climactic conclusion. The best part of the story is Ham' s forgiveness for his wife and what he does to make her believe it. I received a copy from Netgalley and I am voluntarily reviewing.

Hamilton Jones is a former Navy SEAL who now does special missions for the US government. His wife was pressed into service by the CIA years earlier when he was deployed. He thought she had been killed until his daughter is dropped off by his wife who then disappears. Now he is determined to find her and rescue her and she is determined to protect him by not being found. This story takes them all over the globe facing mortal danger and internal government intrigue that seem impossible to avoid or sort through.

This is a very intricate story that kept me enthralled throughout. I highly recommend this author and this series.

I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from NetGalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

Another hit by author Susan May Warren! While it is the third in the series, it is also great as a stand alone.
Ham and Signe were best friends as young kids. They later married, but Signe disappeared from his life while he was deployed as a SEAL. He believed her to be dead. He had no knowledge that she had joined the CIA, or that they had a ten year old daughter, Aggie. Now, Ham has Aggie, and Signe has disappeared from his life again. Is she a traitor of their country?
Lots of action, dealing with the past, suspense, forgiveness (from God and humans), and happy endings. Amazing, awesome story! Can't recommend it enough.
I was given a complimentary copy by the publisher, Revell and NetGalley. I was under no obligation to leave a positive review.

Another great read by a talented author I really enjoyed reading it and will definitely read more and recommend reading it

Susan May Warren wrote the third book in the Global Search and Rescue series, The Price of Valor. This is the story of Hamilton Jones, a former SEAL, and Signe Kincaid, a spy working for the CIA. Hamilton has not heard from Signe for quite a few years until she sends him their daughter to care for. Ham did not know he had a daughter until she arrives. Signe has broken Ham’s heart when she decided to become an operative while serving as a humanitarian aid worker in Chechnya.
When she finds out that someone high up in the administration of the U.S. is involved in planning a takeover. Ham is friends with and works for a Presidential nominee who may be involved. The two of them have to work together to find out where the danger is coming from. Signe also has secrets that she has not shared with Ham and those will come to endanger all of them.

I enjoyed the book and thought that the author wrote a very convincing thriller. The story was very engaging and kept one step ahead of the reader. Very good book.

Wow! How can so much action happen in one book? Susan May Warren does it again! When I pick up a book of hers I know I am in for a one of a kind treat. And not the kind that you want to devour, but the kind you want to savor as long as possible. The Price of Valor was unlike any other book I have read. The two main characters not only knew each other, but they were married! Not that they had seen one another, as Ham believed her to be dead, seeing the bombing of the place she was in himself. When he finds out he has a daughter he is left speechless. Knowing what he knows now, nothing will stop him from finding the love of his life. But does he know her at all after 10 years?

I could not get enough of this book. Warren took my breath away, and I was left with out a clue of what could possibly happen next. The best kind of book is when you try to guess where you might be taken, and find out you were completely wrong. From one disaster to another I was in for the long haul and loved every minute of it. If you have read the other books in the Global Rescue series, then you already know you have to read this one. If this is the first book from the series you picked up, you are still in luck, as this can easily be a stand alone novel as well. That being said, buy the whole series! The books were so much fun to read, and you’ll get to see some of your favorite characters again from previous novels in this one.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Romance with the perfect amount of mystery and suspense. This one is going on my keeper shelf. I received a copy of this book from Revell Publishing and was in no way forced to post a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.
