Former Navy SEAL Hamilton Jones thought that the love of his life was dead. But when a girl claiming to be his daughter shows up with a dire message from his wife, Ham knows he will stop at nothing to find her and bring her home.

Kidnapped by rebels while serving as an interpreter in Ukraine, Signe Kincaid has spent the past decade secreting out valuable information about Russian assets in the US to her CIA handler. Fearing for her daughter after being discovered as an operative, Signe sends her to Ham for safekeeping. She's ready to give her life for her country, and she can hardly expect Ham to rescue her after breaking his heart over and over.

When Ham discovers the reason Signe has kept her distance, he must choose between love for his wife and love for the nation he has vowed to protect. Will he save the many? Or the few?

This was a great conclusion to this series. It would be helpful to read the other books in this series to fully know what is going on in this book. There is also a conclusion for who is the traitor that was spoken of in the Montana Marshall series. Also, a good series and should be read.

Ham is faced with a lot of choices in this book. Most of all does he forgive Signe for what she has done to him by keeping his daughter a secret from him.

I enjoyed reading this book and couldn't put it down. I highly recommend to all mystery buffs.

I was given this book by Revell Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.

THE PRICE OF VALOR is the third book in the series. It is not necessary to read these books in order but fans will want to in addition to a few others of Ms Warrens' books.

Recently I read another author's series with Navy Seals as main characters and I kind of scoffed at the idea that real life people would be super heroes, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. Yet this book (series) stars the same type of characters.

Full of nonstop action, adventure, and romance, this is a book you won't want to put down. It almost made me cry in a few spots, and the faith message is superb.

Available for preorder. I was given a copy free. All opinions are my own.

The Price of Valor
by Susan May Warren
Book 3 in the Global Search and Rescue series
Rating: 4.5/5
Release date: October 6, 2020

Susan May Warren never disappoints! If you need some romantic suspense and mystery in your life, read this book! I highly recommend reading the first two books in this series before reading this third one because you'll understand so much more. I don't think it's absolutely necessary but you'll be better acquainted with the characters and the background.

Hamilton Jones and Signe Kincaid grew up as childhood sweethearts but life and their careers took them away from each other. When Ham realizes that his wife is alive and they have a daughter, he knew nothing would stop him from trying to find out the truth. Signe is a CIA operative who's been in deep cover for years and hopes to save some lives including her daughter's. Ham is hurt and angry and trying to build a relationship with his daughter who he missed growing up. He desperately wants to believe and forgive Signe for all that she did but he is unsure. Can he trust his wife or will he lose everything he's sought to protect?

The author has a couple stories going on at once - which is why I recommend reading the other books so you can get more background on the other couple. The story deals with disasters near and far and I always enjoy how everything comes together at the end. The author is so clever in her craft and I can't wait to read more from her.

Throughout the book there is a message of faith and forgiveness. Signe feels so much shame for her past and finds it hard to accept forgiveness. She and Ham both have lots of baggage from their pasts and while Ham stayed faithful, Signe had strayed without Ham there to guide her. I can only imagine the psychological ramifications of maintaining a deep cover while keeping oneself relevant and sane. Compartmentalizing becomes your friend. I love when authors deal with real-life issues in an organic way.

I also loved seeing characters from other series that the author has written. That was a lot of fun!

I highly recommend this book if you are a fan of romantic suspense and high stakes espionage.

My thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of the book. All opinions expressed here are entirely my own. No positive review was expected and no compensation received.

This is a rare DNF for me. I don’t want to spoil anything, so I’ll be vague. To me, this story is not well written, uses too many flashbacks, and just has some truly unbelievable moments. My stopping point was when a couple from a previous story in this series, who already had their ups and downs and got their HEA, has a thread that in my opinion, ruins their story. I’m sure by the end of this story they are fine, but it just didn’t ring true. Sadly, nothing in this story worked for me. I’m sure I will be in the minority and that’s okay! We all have different reading tastes!

Ham just found out he has a 10 year old daughter and that his wife might actually be alive. When he finally tracks down Signe he must decide if she is traitor to her country or one of the bravest people he knows. Signe just wants to keep he family safe and by showing she really is in love with Ham could get them killed. Thank you for the ARC copy.

Susan May Warren never disappoints with her thrilling adventures wrapped with romance and exciting characters. This has been an enjoyable series to read and will be recommended to patrons and friends

It was nice to finally hear Ham’s story and well worth the wait. Everything about his marriage is so mysterious. There is so much he doesn’t know about where his wife has been. When the 10 year old daughter he didn’t know he had gets left in his care, the questions grow. He’s convinced his wife is alive but why doesn’t she want him to look for her.

I loved that this story brought in so many characters from different books and series. It’s like running into a familiar friend. It also tied up some of the hanging threads from other books in a satisfying way.

There’s plenty of action and danger and urgency in this book. Besides the threat from villains, there are extreme forces of nature that muck up their plans. It’s an adrenaline ride. I’d highly recommend it.
Thank you to Revell for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Global Search and Rescue series:
Book 1: The Way of the Brave
Book 2: The Heart of a Hero
Book 3: The Price of Valor

Susan May Warren outdid herself in the third installment of her Global Search and Rescue series, The Price of Valor. And even though I have loved all of Warren’s books, this one is by far my favourite of the series. Here, we finally wrap up the loose ends created in the first two books and delve into Hamilton and Signe’s story. It is one of heartache, fear, struggle, but also enduring survival. Ham is the ultimate hero, and Warren exquisitely crafted this character to ensure he would grip your heart.

The Price of Valor is the perfect blend of action, suspense, romance, and character development. With high tension moments expertly balanced by soul searching dialogue, this book easily holds you captive. You will definitely want to read the first two books in the series before this one, but this third book most definitely tops them all! I could rave on an on, but my best advice is for you to pick up this series for yourself.

I received this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

The third and final installment in this amazing series by Susan May Warren! I just love her writing style!
Her stories always take you on a roller coaster ride making you eagerly turning the pages to see what the characters do next! She sure know how to end an awesome series with a bang! I was sad to see it end.
This is Ham's story and I'm so glad that he finally gets it! He definitely deserves it! He's an amazing man truly!
I really didn't want his story to end but I know that i can always reread it. I do love doing that every now and then.
I fell in love with the first book in this series and has made me a new fan of Susan May Warren! I will now have to go back and read her other books too.

I was somewhat impatiently waiting for the book, Price of Valor, to come out. I knew it was going to be Ham's book but I was not expecting it to be this great. Signe is his perfect match. Talk about suspense filled book. Wow!

I’m on the fence here, after the last book in this series I was done, but I had the opportunity to read this and so have it a go. These books are very much written for the series addict. There’s no way you could pick up one of these stories and not have read at least the entire last series the author writes or even the one before. This book is jam packed full of Marshall’s characters and some from the Mountain SAR series.

The high adrenaline moments take off from the very beginning and I sometimes wonder if there is ever a turning back, because the intensity is always in need of something stronger, more dangerous, more edge of your seat drama than the chapter or the book before it.

But here’s the thing, and this is where this author seals the series writing deal with her fans, they are page turners and chapter turners and hard to put down. You are so invested in all of the books and all of the series I almost wonder if the typical reduction in book sales statistics of series don’t even apply for her.

So many impossibly crazy, you know this would never happen in real life moments for the characters it almost feels like a soap opera. But there’s a reason people are hooked to those too - and Susan May Warren has figured out how to capture the readers.

Still too much constant rehashing for me to want to read it again in the future, but it’s a great one time adventure, even if it’s a lot incredulous.

Thanks to Netgalley for a eARC. This is my honest review.

I absolutely enjoyed this book and, in fact, this entire series by Ms. Warren! I am a huge fan of military and paramilitary books, so when an author skillfully combines those themes with Christian fiction as Ms. Warren so well does, I am a huge fan. If you have not read the first two books in Ms. Warren's Global Search and Rescue series, I would highly suggest that you read those first, just to have a better context of the different characters (and to not have spoilers ;) ). The Price of Valor could definitely stand alone as an outstanding book, but the entire series is so good that it would be more enjoyable to read them all in order.
The Price of Valor finally delves into the story of former Navy Seal Hamilton Jones, who has been the steady, tough, kind, always-there-for-you kind of leader. Ham's mysterious past comes to full light in this book. After Ham is shocked to find out that he has a daughter, he now seeks to find his wife, who was reported as dead many years ago. Ham will not stop his search for his wife, no matter how many dangers his path may lead through, whether storms, deadly enemies, natural disasters, pain, or even a volcano.
Signe Kincaid has always thrived on being able to stand on her own and has enjoyed her position in the CIA, but after serving as an interpreter in Ukraine, she is kidnapped by rebels and forced to survive among the terrorist groups. Signe uses her tough and unique position in the midst of a terrorist training camp to feed valuable information to her CIA handler in order to help save American lives. Signe has broken Ham's heart several times when she has left for one reason or another, so she hardly expects him to come to her rescue, yet she did send her daughter to him for safe keeping because she knows how good a man he is. Signe is willing to give her life in service to her country, but as the tangled web of truths and deception starts to unravel, Signe is on the run for her life. Will Signe escape her past? Can Ham find her before it is too late? Can they have a chance at a restored relationship? Can Ham trust his CIA wife or will his duty to his nation override his choice?
This was an excellent book, full of adventures, extreme dangers, constantly changing plots, multiple plot twists, and mysterious and unique characters. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely read it again and any of Ms. Warren's works. I hope you have the chance to pick up this book and enjoy it as much as I did. Happy readings! :)

Holy Guacamole!!! I am not sure how many times I said "WHAT??!!" or "EEEEEKS!" or "Oh man, I did NOT see THAT coming" in this book, but suffice it to say, it was a lot! I don't know how Ms. Warren does it. I have been reading her books for 10+ years and yet she never gets stale, she is always coming up with fresh new books that have completely different stories and backgrounds from anything she has done before. I think the term Page Turner, was coined after someone read her books. Seriously. This book was a wild ride from start to end.

Readers will definitely want to read or re-read the first two books in this series before reading this one. Lots of action, people and suspense fill the pages of this fast-paced thriller. Signe and Ham's past is revealed throughout the book for added background information. The team as always sticks together and proves to be in the right place at the right time as this series ends. Recommended!

Ham Jones has been my favorite character in the Global Search and Rescue series right from the start, and I couldn't wait to get to read his story, especially with the huge cliffhanger the last book left us with. I admired his faith and his strength in leading his team in the first two books, and I wanted to hear more of his story, and how he ended up in the situation he was in.

The Price of Valor definitely did not disappoint, and readers everywhere are in for a treat. This action packed suspense novel kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time, and Ham is definitely one of my new favorite of Susan May Warren's heroes. His story is turbulent and emotional, and he and his team are forced into positions that no one could have seen coming. Ham's wife Signe hasn't really been in his life for many years, and his faith struggles a bit when he's forced to come to terms with everything from her past. Ham was such an amazing character, and I found his entire journey to be so uplifting and inspiring. He truly cares about doing all he can for the people he loves, even when they don't treat him with the same respect. His background story was tragically sad, but I loved how he used those times to grow his personal relationship with Christ, and this one definitely caused me to tear up.

I come to expect a pretty thrilling mystery when I pick up a title by Susan May Warren, and in this one, the twists and turns just kept coming. Every time you think you've figured it out, another shocking revelation was discovered and had me questioning how on earth this entire story was going to end up coming together. Of course it does though, and I definitely don't recommend reading these books out of order as I don't think you'd truly be able to fit everything happening together without having read the first two books in the series.

I'm not sure I'd say that this was my favorite of Susan's books, but I definitely enjoyed it and thought it was worth the wait. While it took me awhile to warm up to Signe, I did come to understand the choices she made were what she thought was for the best at the time.

Final Rating: 4/5.

Definitely go ahead and pick this one up if you're a fan of Christian suspense.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Susan May Warren is a master at creating intense, heart-pounding stories of adventure, suspense, romance and faith! Her most recent release, The Price of Valor is, without a doubt, my favorite book of this series.

Building off a story that’s been brewing for awhile, readers join Hamilton Jones in the search for his missing wife, Signe. What he doesn’t anticipate is coming face to face with a volcanic explosion and resulting tsunami on the coast of Italy. I thoroughly enjoyed the fantastic suspense and edge of your seat action that this international setting created for these two characters and other members of the Jones, Inc. team.

This story moved along at a great pace, was well written and offered daring heroes, clean yet passionate romance, faith-based elements and breathtaking adventure. Warren once again delivered well-rounded, deeply relatable characters who have real world problems, choices and feelings. Her characters exhibit bravery, integrity, and skill as they grow individually, overcoming past regrets and choices that hold them captive and learn to offer grace, forgiveness and love. Warren also brings back some of my favorite characters from her Montana Marshalls series for a few cameos and that made my series-loving heart happy!

As if the adventure, international intrigue and lovable characters weren’t enough, I really enjoyed the romance portion of this story. Ham’s love for Signe over the years and the way he continues to chase her down, love her, forgive her and bring her back home is a light parallel to the story of Hosea in the Bible and Christ’s love for His people. Because of Ham’s never-ending commitment to her and their marriage, the romance in this story was that much sweeter, their struggles that much more real. A beautiful and timeless story told in a modern, edgy and suspense driven way!

I highly recommend you take a chance on The Price of Valor and discover for yourself just how quickly this series, and this particular book, works it’s way into your favorite’s list! Recommended for readers 15+.

Wow! No one can end a series like Susan May Warren! She always brings so much faith, excitement and weaves such a thrilling ending. In fact, the whole story was fast paced, so much so, I had to take a break several times. And she brought back so many familiar characters and wove them into the story seamlessly.
Most of all, I loved that Susan May Warren gave Ham the attributes of God that he demonstrated to Signe. He forgave repeatedly, he never gave up on her, he helped and guided her, he forgave her, he walked beside her and he loved her unwaveringly. This is the lesson for us that God will do all this and even more than we can imagine..
“But it’s in suffering – as well as joy – that we find our faith. In times of trouble, we either draw near, or we run.”

“when we have nothing, when we are nothing, then that’s when we see that God is already there, holding us up.”

If you want devotion, compassion, connections, affection and expectation then this is the series for you!
And if you want to meet Hamburglar and Shorty!

I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley but the opinions are entirely my own.

I have been patiently waiting for Ham's story. Well, maybe not so patiently. Ham is in each of the Global Search and Rescue books and I have admired his people skills, but wanted to know more about him and his wife.
We finally get their full story in the last book of the series and believe me when I say, it was worth waiting for. Not only do we find out what has been going on with Signe for the last ten years, but we get more on Jenny and Orion.
The team faces impossible circumstances in Italy and trouble follows them back to the United States.
I love Susan May Warren's books. The plot is very well thought out. The suspense is paced perfectly. The characters are wonderful. I hate for this series to end. I have come to love these characters.
If you like to read romantic suspense, I highly recommend this book.

“She didn’t know what was more dangerous – the tsunami or the unforgettable pull Ham had on her heart.”

The Price of Valor is the perfect conclusion to Susan May Warren’s Global Search and Rescue series. Readers who enjoy action-packed, adrenaline racing novels filled with a plentiful amount of romance will love The Price of Valor.

The Price of Valor takes readers on an intense journey to Italy and back to the States while former Navy SEAL Hamilton Jones and his SAR team’s mission takes an unexpected turn into political intrigue and danger as he fights to save his family and his country. Get ready for a dangerous, action-packed, wild ride to romance. Fans of Susan May Warren’s Montana Marshalls series may have wondered about a specific storyline that was not completely wrapped up at the end of the series. Much to the delight of the Montana Marshalls fans, The Price of Valor answers those questions.

While The Price of Valor COULD be read as a standalone novel, there are some secondary storylines and characters featured in the first two books in the series that continue to play a role in this novel. Therefore, I do recommend reading this series in order, and it is also helpful to have read the Montana Marshalls series to get the maximum enjoyment of all the storylines and characters from both series. The Montana Marshalls is my all-time favorite series of hers, so happy reading!

The Price of Valor is highly recommended for readers of action-filled contemporary romance. This is definitely a book that will enjoy a place on your keeper shelf, and Ham will undoubtedly become one of your favorite Susan May Warren heroes! The Price of Valor is guaranteed to be on my top 10 list of books for 2020.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.

“Because Ham was a patriot, right down to every cell in his body, and if he knew what she knew, he’d have to risk being a traitor to the country he loved. The country he swore to protect.”

So intense! Just when I think Susan May Warren can't possibly write these characters out of an all-hope-is-lost scenario, she does it again. The Price of Valor is another wonderful novel crafted by the master of epic suspense. Dire stakes, a terrifying natural disaster, and evil antagonists all conspire against Ham, Signe and a cast of characters we've come to know and love throughout various novels. This plot will keep you on the edge of your seat, while the deeply emotional and inspirational love story will have you reaching for your tissues. I really appreciated the deeper themes of love and faithfulness and not letting fear rob us of our faith. This is a stunning, poignant conclusion to a wonderful series.
