I would like to thank Aria for asking me to review this book and to be apart of the blog tour.
I loved the two main characters of this story. Twins Lily and Artie separated when their Grandmother passed away continued to be separated with visits view and far between, as a reader I loved the pull it gave me of wanting this two to unite for good.
The historical descriptions of 1900s was brilliant, Lesley really knows how to research a story and recreate it in words. Brilliant characters that bring their settings to live.
A brilliant historical read full of emotions. I loved it.

A Sharing of Hearts

An adorable story of two orphan twins Lilly and Artie orphaned at the age of twelve when their grandmother who was raising them passed away. Although separated and sent different ways they never forgot their love for each other and visited whenever possible.

As they grew into adulthood, Artie in school and Lilly finding her way into employment they never lost touch with each other. As they grew and were separated again by war and reunited they found a way to stay close to each other.

I loved the story and the characters. The story of the tea room, the chocolate store, and all the different friends. Lilly met Elsie and Phyllis in the orphanage and they became close friends staying in touch and sharing their lives with each other. They were all there for each other through their life challenges as they grew to adulthood and began new lives.

I loved the history and the descriptions of the scenic places they visited. I felt like I was on tour and visiting. The descriptions were wonderful and the characters were realistic.

The book is about love, trust, relationships, heartache and triumph. It is about new beginnings and new friends. The ending was perfect. I enjoyed the book immensely and would recommend it.

Thanks to Lesley Eames, Aria Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Lily and Artie are twins. They are ten years old when Liky discovers that her grandmother is I'll. She is the only member left of their family and has kept the fed and housed by washing clothes. Now Lily has discovered that her grandmother is dying. She tries to help earn money by running errands and doing the laundry and ironing. It is not enough. Grandmother dies and Lily is bound for the workhouse. A previous chance encounter with a gentleman has enabled her brother be taken in by a benefactor who will care for him and make sure he acquires the proper schooling. Noth children have always been extremely bright. Lily faster to pick up than Artie but through her patience he is able to become more proficient with school. At the time girls aren't offered higher education, this the workhouse for Lily. From the workhouse she is able to make her way to a bakery. She sees the possibilities the bakery has to offer. The owner is willing to work with her. Through perseverance and hard work she is able to add a yea room to the bakery. It is a huge success. Her brother raised in a different environment is also being g successful in his grades at school.
This is a story of perseverance of survival of determination.

This is an emotional family saga. I enjoyed the fact that the main character was actually a set of twins. I enjoy books of this era, and I liked that this was a bit different than some, as it was set in England.

Having read, and loved previous books by this author I was looking forward to this. What a great heartwarming read, a really great story that I devoured in one sitting, I really didn't want it to end, I'd love to read more. A real rags to riches feel.

I really liked this book. It was so sad to see the struggles they had and how they overcame them. I hate the fact that the brother was picked to actually be taught and have a life versus the sister who had to struggle for everything she had. I did like the fact that she was actually able to make something out of herself and help out her brother. Very well written book and I am looking for more books by this author.

This book has been on my TBR (To Be Read) pile on my phone. I finally finished the other books and picked The Orphan Twins by Lesley Eames. Immediately I started the first two pages,I knew this was a good book.

I am a big fan of historical sagas.

I love the twins ,Lily and Artie. I favour Lily the more. She seems more mature and knowledgeable for her age and she loves her twin brother and granny.

This book is deserving of a 5 star rating. So page turning, attention grabbing, edge – of- a seat feeling and overall,an excellent book.

My heart broke at the suffering Gran experienced due to old age and poverty. I wanted to cry at some scenes. With food sparse and money tight, the twins and their Granny looked forward to the next day.

The quest for education by the twins touched my heart. Both of them love reading books. I felt for Lily more. Such a sweet brave girl.

Grab some tissues, you are going to cry at some scenes. I love this book.

Siblings love is so great and emotional.

I love Lily’s friends;Elsie and Phyllis. What a great bond of friendship between them.

I love dear old Mr. Bax. An awesome man he was!

Mr. Alderton is a good man despite him not taking large part of the plot but his support towards Artie’s education will make me to appreciate him.

Leasley Eames writes well. You can’t help falling in love with her book characters.

War is terrible but life must go on. I salute Lily for her courage in the midst of war.

This is the best historical saga I have read this year that touched my heart deeply.

I love this book so much.

The novel is based in 1910 in England and Lily is 10 years old when her grandmother falls terribly ill. Tragedy strikes and the twins lives takes very different paths, due to the simple fact that one is male and one is female.

It is a beautiful novel and very sad at times. it is very emotional but exciting at the same time

A well written story about twins who became orphans as children. They were separated, but remained in touch throughout the years. Both were dedicated to make a better life for themselves, to rise above the poverty they were born into. The story is set in England during WWI. It was interesting to learn about life during that time.

I was excited to get to read this, so read it right away. I wasn’t disappointed, it was emotional but exciting at same time following the lives of twins Lily and Artie. There are parts where you have an idea where the story is going, then the excitement when the story teases you along waiting for it to unfold. I got near the end then delayed the ending as I couldn’t bear for it to finish. Loved it and will recommend to all my bool loving friends. Thank you to Netgalley for the advance read.
