Unfortunately not my most enjoyed book from this writer and I normally enjoy his books - this is no reflection on his other books and maybe I was having bad week
I would still buy other books

Great read, with lots of twists and turns. An edge of the seat read, where you can't see how everything is going to be resolved, right up to the end. Definitely recommend

This is a fast paced action packed thriller.
Although far fetched I could not put it down.
It left me tired and breathless at the end.
Maybe I should read the previous books in the series.

Private Moscow
by James Patterson, Adam Hamdy

5 Stars

Book 15 of Patterson’s Private series.

Fast flowing, full of action

Plot flows well, story line teases the reader, with short chapters to keep the reader engaged. It reads like you are amongst the action and developing plot.

An invitation from an old friend draws Jack Morgan into a deadly conspiracy, as he witnessed the murder of his friends on the steps of the New York Stock Exchange. Jack sets out to find the killer and discovers a link to Russia. There he unearths a conspiracy that could have global consequences.

An easy read that draws the reader in.

This is another rollercoaster of a Private.
This story goes from New York to Moscow
With both teams trying to find the killer and why he is doing it before he strikes again.
Another great book in the Private Series.
Thanks NetGalley

Private Moscow is a change from the type of books usually read – an action packed, fast paced mystery thriller. Although it’s the 15th book in the series, I think it reads well as a standalone. The action never lets up as Jack Morgan, the head of Private, a detective agency with branches across the globe, sets out to hunt for the killer of his best friend and former marine, Karl Parker. Meanwhile in Moscow Dinara Orlova, an ex FSB agent in the Moscow office of Private and her colleague, Leonid Boykov an ex police detective, are investigating the murder of Yana Petrova, who was killed in an explosion at the Boston Seafood Grill. When it becomes apparent that the two cases are linked Jack flies to Moscow to join forces with Dinara and Leonid.

After a slow start, the pace picked up dramatically as the danger intensified and I was gripped right up to the final high octane ending. The short chapters emphasise the speed of the action. There spectacular car chases, with violent shoot outs, miraculous escapes and fight scenes, and intense danger throughout as intrigues, conspiracies, old secrets and deep-cover agents are revealed. It’s told through Jack’s perspective in the first person narrative alternating with the third person of the other characters. It’s far-fetched, but also entertaining, like watching a fast paced spy movie/thriller and although I have never been to New York or Moscow I had no difficulty in visualising the locations. Pure escapism!

My thanks to the publishers for a review copy via NetGalley.

Great read was hooked from the first page to the last page.

Have read a few James Patterson books over the years and this book hit all the marks, thrilling, fast paced.

This book can be read as a standalone.

Jack Morgan is with his best friend and former marine when he is killed, his wife asks Jack to find his killer but with a link to a murder in Moscow Jack is on an international hunt to find out just what is going on.

I've been a fan of both James Patterson & Adam Hamdy for years. I was thrilled to see they were collaborating on a book. I was definitely not disappointed. From New York to Moscow it's a roller coaster of action, intrigue and suspense. I read this in 2 days and loved every part of it. I'd thoroughly recommend you read Adam Hamdy's other titles too. He's one of the best authors of this genre on the planet.

The head of a prominent private agency is contacted by a businessman, an old marine comrade friend, inviting him to take on a protection assignment at a function and to meet him afterwards to be briefed. Attending the function, the businessman at his side is shot dead. Spotting the assassin, he gives chase, but the man is a highly trained operator, with an organisation that ensures his escape. Trying to find clues to why his friend was killed; it seems that it was possibly to silence him for what he knew. The trail leads him to Moscow and the agency’s embryo office there. The mystery deepens as more people die for no apparent reason. A most exciting and complex story involving long laid plots to infiltrate and involve the highest levels of governments. The murdered old friend does leave clues that only an ex-marine could spot if only he was alert enough. A most thrilling and interesting read.

Thank you to Netgalley and Random House UK, Cornerstone for this review copy of Private Moscow (15) by James Patterson &, Adam Hamdy.
This is my unbiased review of the author's work and style. If you want plot lines and spoilers, please see the publisher's blurb and other reviewers' reports.
I have never read any of the previous Private Moscow series and I have to say it is unlikely that I will. I realise I am swimming against the trend here, but I can only report on what I read. The author’s protagonist is a stock hero out of the drawer and out of the 1960s.
As a TV series, suitably devoid of the perpetual hyperbolizes and with the dialogue crisped up it could make a four-episode thriller. In a book, the silliness of the yarn left me cold. In the hands of a master writer, the plot could have been well used and better presented.

Three stars and I am being generous.

As expected from a thriller by Patterson this was action packed and fast paced. A real page turner moving the action between Russia and America in short tension packed chapters. Look forward to reading more in this series.

This is the first book in the Private series that I have read and I didn't feel that that mattered at any point in the book. The story is set between America and Russia, beginning with the murder of an ex-marine, Karl Parker, in New York which is witnessed by his friend Jack Morgan who runs the Private detective agencies.
This book is fast-paced and had a 'James Bond' style storyline with several parts making me wonder, who could possibly survive some of the things that happen.
However I thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely read more in the series.

As usual the action starts on the first page until the very end. I couldn't wait to see what happens next. Recommended.

I haven't read a Patterson in years - shying away I guess, perhaps snobbishly. However what a pleasant surprise Private Moscow was! An easy read and page-turner, I thoroughly enjoyed it. No great twists or shocks but high;ly recommended for an action packed thrill-ride.

A fast paced action packed story. Very easy to visualise all the scenes. Acts of heroic bravery, far beyond the ability of everyday people, crossing continents, everything a thriller should be.
