It took me a while to get into this book, but once I did, it was difficult to put it down! Told in alternating times and voices, this is ultimately a story about family and finding your place in it. I loved reading about the characters and each of their adventures. I wish so much that was MORE - more about Luis, more about Elizabeth, and definitely more about Gabriel and his time in New France.

Once suggestion I would have, would be to include a family tree at the beginning of the book instead of just a list of characters.

I will definitely be looking for more books from this author!
