Stylish, Taut and Addictive. I didn't read such a thriller in years. One of the masterpieces of 2020.
How would you feel if you have a feeling that someone out there is watching you? Would you feel afraid? Kara felt the same that day.
The story starts with a pure Adrenaline where a girl named Kara is horrified by someone's presence and after something bad happened.
Private Detective Charlie Winters when she found a crying woman at A1 investigations that morning. The problem is really big. Teenage daughter is missing.
Charlie didn't want to come to Salem Island because of those painful memories she had faced when she was a teenager. Her sister was abducted at that island but due to her uncle's poor health, she has had to return to that island.
She thought she would find clues when she search Kara's room but the opposite happened.
Kara was not that good teenager. She kept some secrets from her mother. Being confused wheather she was really abducted or ran away, Charlie frantically searched for clues and found a jewellery box in which a matchbook was hidden. That belonged to a nightclub but there was nothing more to gather and it proved a dead end for Charlie.
She was investigating a teenage missing case and then another woman came to her and said that her daughter was missing.
Charlie became shell shocked when a girl's body is found at exactly that place where her sister's last trace was found.
Someone is there who's giving tension to Charlie. Someone wants to tease her but who?
Will Charlie be able to solve the case of missing teenage girls or will it be too late? Why this killer is killing teenager girls?
Read this taut thriller to know all the answers.
I was drawn in the book from its very first word. The author duo has done a fantabulous job.
I loved the characters of Charlie, Misty, Kate, Allie. Other supporting characters were good.
Although Charlie steels the show.
Narration of the story was fast paced which kept me hooked until I read its wonderful and satisfying ending. I completed it in one night.
I will definitely recommend this masterpiece of 2020 to all my fellow bloggers, authors, family, friends and followers.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me an advance copy of this amazing psychological suspense thriller.
