I was part of the blog tour for the first book of this detective series last year, and I enjoyed my second meeting with DI Dani Stephens last December as well... I've been looking forward to meet up with her character ever since. Echoes Of Guilt is already book number three and doesn't disappoint: it's without a doubt another solid and pretty shocking detective thriller! Fans of suspenseful and darker thrillers will be in for a treat with this series in general.

Once again, the main character Dani Stephens plays a key role in the plot. While in a way she can be seen as the typical damaged detective lead, I think her character has so much more dept than that. Why? Well, not only does she have a serial killer twin who almost killed her, but the brain damage she suffered as a result of that attack has changed her life and personality forever. She is still struggling with the consequences, and it has been fascinating to see her character develop over time. While the psychological aspect doesn't play as big as a role in this third book, the road to recovery is still present; especially in a different character too after what happened in book two. On that note: since the personal developments in the previous books have a big impact on what is happening in book three, I advice reading these books in order as you might not understand some references otherwise.

I loved the Romanian angle in Echoes Of Guilt, and especially the significance of the Strigoi Romanian folklore element. It really gave the story that creepy and almost horror vibe and took this thriller to the next level. It was also interesting to learn a bit more about the Strigoi and the original myth behind the undead and vampires. Romania plays a big role in general, with multiple characters from that country as well as folklore references. This gave Echoes Of Guilt an international vibe despite the Birmingham setting... And I always love having foreign cultures incorporated into a story!

Dani's serial killer twin brother Ben once again plays a role in Echoes Of Guilt. While I can't deny that he is a fascinating character, I did feel that his role in the plot in book three was a bit forced this time around. I think the story might have stood stronger without his involvement... Although I still can't pinpoint exactly why I felt this way. The case Dani and her team have to investigate is fascinating though, and the whole Romanian folklore angle really took it to the next level. Some of the scenes are quite spooky and sometimes even gruesome, so definitely not for those with a weak stomach. But if you don't mind things getting dark and twisted, Echoes Of Guilt will provide plenty of detective thriller reading pleasure.

This was my first book in this series, but even though I haven't read the previous two books, it did not affect my reading at all since there are enough details about the past in this book that kept me covered.

This book was a well written complex murder investigation with hidden identities, missing persons and human trafficking involved. I liked the main character DI Dani as well as DS Easton, they both make a good team. The story progressed at a good pace and it all came together well at the end.

Overall an okay read!

DI Dani Stephens and DS Easton are called to scene and find a woman drowned in a bath; half a bottle of vodka and a packet of pills but evidence at the scene appears to suggest she was murdered. As they investigate her death it takes them into the world of organised crime and a photo a the scene has Dani’s twin brother on who continues to haunt her. 

This is excellent crime novel and do enjoy a excellent written crime book. 

Dani is still recovering from what has happened to her in previous books physically and mentally. Her partner Jason is still hospital recovering and Dani thinks her brother is involved in more than one crime. Easton is also having trouble at home as his sister is staying with her children. So they both have a lot going on in there personal life. 

The actual case they are investigating has plenty of twists and turns right through the story and did not guess what actually happened. 
 
Dani and Easton work well together as a team and enjoyed their partnership. 

I’ve got a feeling that we haven’t seen the last of Ben, Dani’s twin brother. 

An excellent written crime story by Rob Sinclair with plenty of twists, evil characters and a strong partnership. I look forward to the next book in the series if there is one.

This is the third in the series with DI Dani Stephens.  Previous books detailed some pretty horrific events in her life that are lingering in this book, but they are referred to in enough detail that you can conceivably read this without reading the first two.  Currently Dani works with a DS Easton.  Her husband is still in the hospital recuperating from a vicious attack.  The book opens with Dani and Easton being called to what on the surface appears to be a suicide but there are just enough oddities about it to raise doubts.

The case Dani and Easton is investigating leads them on a dark path that weaves through secret identities, missing people, human trafficking, torture, and multiple murders.  Easton deals with ongoing personal issues with his sister and her children throughout the book.  Dani continues to deal with the repercussions in her personal life from the events in book 2.

This is well written, twisting turning plot.  There are quite a few pieces that weave together here to reach the final outcome.  A great fast paced thriller.

The third in the series featuring D I Dani Stephens.  Dani has her hands full again when she is called out to investigate a possible drowning in a bath.  The case turns out to be more complex when the drowining is murder and the dead person has an assumed name.. The case opens up the world of organised crime and murder. Dani still haunted by the attack her boyfriend Jason sustained from her last investigation and is still in intensive care. Her killer brother Ben, who is in prison, seems to know a lot about the investigation, but can Dani trust him, after all he tried to kill her once. A real nail biter!!!!

My thoughts about this brilliant third part of the amazing police procedural DI Dani Stevens series, Echoes Of Guilt was fantastic. Author Rob Sinclair’s writing has always been brilliant since I’ve read his Sleeper 13 series. Rob writes a powerful thriller that not only its marvellous, but he does justice to the characters in this remarkable dark twisted thriller.what I loved about the story was when a body of woman gets discovered,what Dani finds out, she was drowned in a bath; with half a bottle of vodka and a packet of pills, and also to find out it wasn’t a suicide it was a murder,was brilliant and I loved when Dani investigate deep into the victims past that leads her into the dark secrets of the organise crime was fantastic. The killer who you want to catch is not easy as it seems was mindblowing, it had me turning the pages I did not want the story to end.The characters i loved the most were Dani Stevens character, a brilliant detective, who will not stop until she investigates and catches the killer, who is on a murdering spree of killing innocent people,was fantastic. I loved her evil twin brother Ben’s character as we all know who is also a brilliant a character from the first book he also returns. This book is on the same level as Silence Of The Lambs, highly recommended, a well written dark twisted police procedural which will take your breath away, I would like to say thank you to Rob Sinclair, and Hera Books for giving me a opportunity to read this outstanding thriller. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐💥💥💥💥💥

Called to attend a suicide scene Stephens and her colleague are soon facing a complex and difficult murder investigation.

The author has created some excellent main characters and the supporting cast are well fleshed out which results in Echoes of Guilt being a book I would definitely recommend

Another gripping instalment in this well written series.
Jason is on the mend but Ben continues to influence Dani' s thoughts in what is to be a fast paced case of people trafficking and murder.

Can you really out run your past.

Dani is still reeling from a case that left her boyfriend in the hospital. When her and her partner Easton who is still having issues with his sister is call to a scene that looks like a suicide it quickly determined it’s murder and victim is Clara Doyle they learn she doesn’t exist. 

While trying to find out who she is and why she has all these pictures of different men Dani is shock to see one of her brother Ben in them. As she trying to find out who these men are she realize people are willing to kill to keep their secrets when more bodies turn up and now Dani have to ask herself can she put trust in her brother who tried to kill her when he may be the key to solving this crime. 

This had some great twists and turns. Dani still strong character with flaws but is determined to get justice.
