Beautifully haunting. Although due to a Netgalley issue, I was unable to listen till the end, I listened to about 20% and hope to listen to the rest (I am hoping to buy it soon).

I loved the characters, Alisak being an early favourite. The writing is atmospheric and extremely heart-breakingly real. loved it!

Thank you to Netgalley and Edelwiess for this audiobook copy of Run Me To Earth.
This was a heartbreaking novel about 3 orphans who have found themselves in Laos where there was extreme bombing, they made each other their family. It was very powerful and intense and I would definitely recommend. Paul Yoon really has created a very breathtaking story which I couldn't stop listening to.

The story begins with Alisak, one of three orphans in war torn Laos in 1969 and follows on for almost the next 50 years.
A tale of devastation, courage and survival. Yoon’s storytelling is subtle yet sublime with nuanced trauma and emotion. This audiobook has most definitely left me with a book hangover.

Many thanks to #netgalley for gifting me an audiobook copy of #runmetoearth in return for an honest review.

I'm afraid I did not get too far in to the audiobook of 'Run Me to Earth,' by Paul Yoon before I gave up. I have read really good reviews of the physical book, but in audio form the structure of the narrative was too difficult to follow and the material needed more concentration than I typically give an audiobook, as I have them on while cleaning etc. The audiobook is well narrated and clear, but it may be better to read this book, rather than listen to it.

A compelling and emotional read.
This is the second Paul Yoon book I've read and I love this writing.
This novel is a great example of his beautiful narratives and engaging storytelling.
I was pulled into this book from the start and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

I sat smiling for a full minute after I finished this book, not because it was a happy story but because it was a beautiful story. I don't know if I would have fallen in love with this story as quickly as I did if it weren't for the narrator. His voice made the painful moments more palatable and he soothed me when my heart ached for the characters. The emotional impact of this story is as powerful at 1x speed as it is at 3x which is a testimony to the pacing of the plot. Truly beautiful work.

Pranny, Noi and Alisak are trying to survive amidst a war in a landscape littered with minefields and air filled with enemy crafts, forced out day after day with no guarantee of surviving each trip. At 17% in I was firmly in love with all three of these children and deeply afraid for their safety even though I knew that logically the likelihood of them losing life or limb was high.

By the end of the book, I wasn't ready to let this story go and found the letting go to be bittersweet. I already miss it.

This book was not at all what I imagined it to be. I listened to it on an audio version and loved every minutes of it. The narrator was amazing, lovely clear voice. He captivated me from the very first chapter. I have never read anything about this area of the world in this time frame so I was overwhelmed to hear about the atrocities that went on. This book tells a harrowing tale, in such a controlled and beautiful way. I know this was a work of fiction, but the historical details were well researched and gave an accurate view of this timeframe. This book was a real educational journey as well as a thrilling read. I would totally recommend it. If you’ve not tried audio books, this is the one to try, the narrator really is captivating.
