A quick and easy to read book! The characters were interesting, the storyline entertaining from start to end. I enjoyed this book. |
This was a fairly quick and easy read, but I loved the style of writing and connected well with the characters. I will definitely be checking out the other books in the series. |
Skye Jordan always knows how to deliver on the steamy hot romances, and that is why she is one of my favorite romance authors. The characters and their chemistry in this title is no different. I enjoyed them and their story, and Jordan somehow knows how to keep the steamy scenes fresh. Loved it. |

ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I'm a big Skye Jordan fan, and this book only cemented that fact. Part of a series, but I hadn't read the first book when I picked this up. Full of romance, steam, and even though I wanted to shake the heroine at times, she got her act together. :) |
wow... this pairing! Why did i put this author on the side burner I have ALWAYS loved her work so I am an idiot for thinking her amazing writing would have died out. She was insanely talented in this one. We have the most BA woman role here and the pairing of her was sweet and it made me cry it was so beautiful... if you tell anyone that I will deny it in a court of law! this was just perfection! |
Going Under is super sexy and sweet at the same time. The way Kat and Ben meet was cute and the sparks fly immediately. They had amazing banter and I loved how Kat was always there to help out when he needed. it was a potential meet cute till a point I also loved the fact that Kat immediately bonded with his daughter even before she knew she was his. their relationship was even more special, constructive and so wholesome. she was there for the girls and took care of them from the start. It all seemed like fate how she met them and they just all fit so well. Kat was looking for a one night stand or a hookup and ben was looking for settlement and commitment. quiet the opposite rope than the normal typical romance books we read and that's what made it more fun. I just love how they were all perfect for each other and fit so well. Ben and his girls gave Kat a family and grounded her just simply made her feel the happiness she can have if she just stay with them. i loved it more because it didnt shame the girl wanting not to settle but just show a wholesomely beautiful way that if she choose it she can be happier. but if she choose, it gave her the ability and freedom to choose which a lot of books forget. and Kat gave them adventure, love and worldly knowledge. They made the perfect family, it was adorable. ➳ARC kindly provided by netgalley, in exchange for an honest review I received a complimentary copy of this novel via NetGalley. • Character development- 4☆ • Story Plot- 4☆ • Side characters- 3.5☆ • Flow of the story- 4☆ • Overall - 4.5☆ |

He wanted a commitment, she only wanted great sex. KT was raised by a single dad, her mother died when she was a little girl. Her father died when she was a teenager. He was a mechanic, she became a marine engineer. She was a tomboy, sailed on a sailboat across the world with her Dad before he died. Now she sails alone in between jobs. She's on land for 6 more months working on the business she and her two best friends are opening. The town is small so she has to maintain a good reputation, so sleeping around isn't going to happen here. On Christmas Eve right before going out to celebrate, KT cuts her arm and ends up in the ER for stitches. That's where she meets Dr. Ben Latham. He's gorgeous, but he's a single dad of 3 girls. But that doesn't stop her from hitting on him and writing down her phone number. Ben just moved to town to be closer to his sister and mother. He's a single dad of three girls all under the age of 11. His wife died of cancer 4 years ago. When he starts talking to KT, he realizes that he hasn't dated in a long time. After his shift at the hospital he plans on putting together the girls Christmas gifts. But the last gift, a bunk bed is the too much. So he texts KT for help and she comes over. A few days later, a young girl walks into KT's workspace by the water. It turns out that it's Ben's oldest, Violet, who walked out of the house and didn't tell her Aunt or babysitter. So Ben comes to find his daughter with KT. That's when his girls start playing matchmaker too. Now when KT starts planning her trip alone, it doesn't sound exciting anymore. She decides to put herself out there and ask Ben and the girls to meet up with her for every school holiday in her boat. But when someone from her past visits, Ben gets insecure and ends things because she won't be exclusive. A must read! |
Every time I read a book in the WILDFIRE LAKE series, that is my new favorite book. How could you not love KT? She is such a bad ass women. KT lives her life the way she wants to. Carefree and out for adventure. She loves sailing and being free to explore the world. While at Wildfire Lake she meets single dad and doctor Ben. Ben himself is amazing but his 3 little girls stole my heart!! And the way KT falls in love with them was almost too much!! Great story! Love this series!! |
What would you do if you weren’t afraid? -Skye Jordan, Going Under • I really liked this one! Perhaps even more than the first book in the Wildfire Lake series. • KT is a confident women, with goals and plans. She was raised by a single dad and loves her job as a marine engineer. She’s currently living in a small town with her two best friends while they work on a longer term project together. She loves being with her friends, but staying in one place has never really been her thing. She’s looking forward to the day she can pack up and get on with her dream of sailing around the world. • After a minor accident while repairing a boat motor, her path crosses with the hot new doctor in town Ben. KT doesn’t do relationships and especially doesn’t need a reason to stick around in Wildfire Lake but she’s open to a hookup. • Ben is a single dad to 3 little girls, who’s lives he puts before his own. KT intrigues him like no one has before and he can’t wrap his head around her being interested in just hooking up and nothing more. Ben has never been the type to have a one night stand. • This was SUCH a good romance. KT and Ben are so incredibly different and at such different places in their lives. It was wonderful to watch them question themselves and challenge each other while working out what they truly want out of life. The daughters were so well written and I loved the depth they added to this story. Both KT and Bens stories were so realistic and the attraction and steam was spot in. To be honest this book is probably more like a 4.5/5 star. I really enjoyed this one. • I would recommend for anyone looking for an easy, steamy romance read. 🔥 • Thank you to @netgalley for providing me with an ARC. |
This is book 2 in a series about three women who meet in Mexico in the eye of a tornado/hurricane and they survive. One of them einherits a plot of land by a lake and its iin ruis so all three agree to get it into shape so they can sell it off for a profit. This is KT's story and she is the tomboy/mechanic who is working on fixing all the houseboats. KT is anti-marriage, commitment and kids and is looking forward to finishing the job, selling and buying her own boat to go exploring the high seas. On Christmas eve she ends up in the emergency room with Dr Ben who patches her up and they end up becoming friends. Ben is a widower with three kids who are really struggling and riasing 3 girls. The worst one is his older daughter who ends up running away and meeting KT. Then the kids gets matchmaking and Ben and KT don't stand a chance. What will KT decide to follow her heart or her dreams or can she get them merge? Well you will have to read this story to find out. I absolutely adored this romance. Ben and his kids were absolutely awesome and KT was so great with them. She has a huge heart and it was great that she opened it up to her friends and Ben's kids. |
Treading Water I think that treading water is tiring and a certain mechanic is about to learn it too. Her adventurous spirit and wanderlust life are glamorous. However, watching her friend settle down has left KT in a funk she can't figure out. She can't imagine leaving the sea and travel behind but she can't get the image of their love out of her head. And then she meets HIM. Single dad, doctor and the antithesis of everything she thinks she wants. Until she realizes its not wanting but need. Two very different people and a connection worth fighting for. A new adventure. And a happy ending that will leave you with a case of wanderlust and goggling catamarans and sailing lessons even if you live in a land locked state. |
Review featured at www.books-n-kisses.com This is the second in the series and Skye Jordan never disappoints. Her men are strong and have a heart of gold. Her women are independent and confident. And this story is no different. KT is a bit of a tomboy who works in a male driven world of engineering and is in town to work on a Marina for Wildfire Lake with her two best friends. When she gets hurt she goes to see Dr Ben who is a single dad and committed to his work. But when they meet there is something more than a one night stand and while neither one of them want to admit it we as a fan of romance know they have no say in where their hearts take them. Another great story from Skye Jordan. She is easily one of my favorite go-to authors because he never disappoints. Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. |
I am a fan of the Wildfire Lake series and KT’s story, a girl who truly deserves happiness. She gets it when she meets the sexy ER doctor and his adorable girls. While KT may be described as a tomboy, she has some girly coming out and I loved it. Learning all about machines and engines from her father, reminded me of following my dad around working on equipment and always busy building something. Where Ben could have been stuck in conventional life with his girls, he was drawn to KT and I loved that he did. Their attraction to each is off the charts and their story is delightful with only slight drama, which this girl needed for a fun evening of reading. |
Skye Jordan proves, once again, that she has a way with words. And character development. And romance. I loved everything about Going Under, from KT's strength and independence, to Ben's vulnerability and traditional approach to romance. But that unexpected and untraditional ending ... Shazam! Great contemporary romance. |
Who doesn't enjoy reading a story that consists of a strong, independent, and confident heroine? The children are so cute. I loved their relationship with the heroine. It's not a lengthy book and i was bever bored. Both protagonists are remarkable. Even though this wasn't a lengthy book, the author was able to provide a phenomenal character growth of both protagonists. I also liked how the hero sacrifices towards the end to support the heroine. I never saw a book where the hero leaves everything and completely supports the heroine. Most of the time it's the other way around. Hats off to the author for writing such a unique and cute book. |
4 Stars! KT Rivers is a marine engineer working on renovating a marina on Wildfire Lake in California with her two best friends. She reconnecting with Laiyla and Chloe while making sure their project is a success. She works in a male dominated field, and is a tomboy who is strong, confident, independent, and unapologetically herself. She doesn't do dating, relationships, or long term commitments. She prefers to keep things casual, and is brutally direct, and doesn't play games. She goes after what she wants, and that includes a hot ER Dr. she unexpectedly meets over stitches. He's not her usual type, but she finds him irresistible! Ben Latham is a local doctor and single dad with a lot of responsibility. He's busy trying to keep things together, and lately has lost his sense of self. Then he crosses paths with a gorgeous, seductive woman that's thrilling and terrifying at the same time. She makes him feel impulsive, reckless, and a little crazy, but he really likes her. She's intoxicating, and he's never met a woman like her. He wants to get to know her better, but she makes it clear she doesn't do serious or permanent. Conflicted by her limitations he's in uncharted territory. She doesn't do romance, but he's traditional. They're in different places, and looking for different things, but he can't deny he wants her. KT never needs anyone, especially a man, but she soon realizes this one is different. He's the first man to ever make her want more, and she doesn't know what to do with these new feelings. She feels blindsided by their intense connection, and he's breaking all her rules. She doesn't recognize herself anymore as she's no longer disconnected. She never does strings, and suddenly he's made his way to her heart. She's vulnerable and confused. Will she feel trapped and run, or will she embrace her feelings and try to figure out where she fits in? Going Under (Wildfire Lake, #2) by Skye Jordan is an emotional, sexy, small town, single dad romance full of passion and amazing chemistry. I really enjoyed this story and love this series! I can't wait for Chloe's book up next! |
I enjoyed this book. From the title and cover I expected a mostly sexy book without much depth but the characters really surprised me! Well worth a read |

A jack of all trades marine mechanic meets a doctor and widowed father of three girls. An instant attraction, that grows into true love, commitment, marriage and enduring happiness. A sensual story of love, life and learning to care and to be cared for in this romantic story. With a happy ever after ending and a pregnancy to bless their union and family happiness. |
Thank you NetGalley, Cygnet Books and Skye Jordan for gifting me an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review! This quick read is jammed packed with steamy chemistry and a whole lotta love. Skye Jordan somehow managed to fit a slow burn romance in a short book without their story feeling too rushed. I didn’t *love8 the decision that was made by one character. I think in the real world that situation wouldn’t make sense but in the book world it’s romantic and lovely. This was the perfect palate cleanser after a heavier book and a great segue from a clean romance to a spicier one! |

I am so in love with this newest addition to a wonderful series that’s full of emotions. KT character is so outstanding with her outgoing personality and a heart full of gold when she meets Ben unexpectedly and their chemistry is off the hook. What happens next as they explore their attraction blossoms to so much more, but the past hunts them and plays a roll in their HEA. If you want to find out what happens than you need to one click this today and won’t be disappointed. Can’t wait for Chloe’s story. |
