Sweet and short romance story with great characters and an overall good story.
I enjoyed the writing and I’ll be looking forward to read more books by the author in the future

A beautiful read, I was hooked from the very start. This was a quick and easy romantic read, light hearted and It is a tale of second chance love between Quinn and Colt, the two main characters, A ,mixed coming of age, family drama and second chance romance. Quinn is forced to return home. She's left her boyfriend at the altar to follow her dreams. Her reception at home is less than enthusiastic, but she's matured and is prepared to acknowledge her mistakes. Colt has issues, and secrets, forgiveness seems far away, but he can't deny the chemistry still sizzles between them.

This is the first book I’ve read by Shann McPherson and I enjoyed the second chance romance novel. Quinn and Colt shared a young love that didn't hold the test of time or did it. Quin left Colt and the rest of her family in Montana to live a life in NYC. She was determined to make a name for herself in the ruthless real estate business.
Almost 10 years later she is still chasing that goal. Until the unexpected news of a family member that has passed away. It forces her to reevaluate her lifestyle and head home to Montana for the service.
One of my favorite quotes from the book: "In Life, it doesn't matter where we go, or how long we're gone for. What matters is that we never forget where we come from, so no matter what, we can always go home." this one really set the tone for the family and for Quinn. I really enjoyed the book and the characters, Quinn and Colt were a firey couple with passion and every emotion you could experience. I'm not going to give any spoilers away, but it was a delightful romantic quick read. I would recommend it for anyone wanting a romantic read that has family, loss, surprises, love, and second chances.

Shann McPherson is a new to me author, I saw the cover and read the synopsis and thought, yes, this ticks every box. This is a book about following your dreams and what happens when you do.

I really enjoyed this book, in fact I read it in one sitting. It took me on a rollercoaster journey from start to finish and had me emotionally connected to each character in the book. Ten years ago Quinn moved to New York to follow her dreams, leaving behind her family and the love of her life. A family tragedy brings her home to Montana and all the feelings she has tried to bury for 10 years come flooding to the surface. A lot has happened in 10 years and Quinn and Colt have to decide if their love is worth the fight.

Oh my! I cried so much with this book. The raw pain was real and felt throughout this book. I could not put it down. A million times would recommend.

I enjoyed the setting and characters in Sweet Home Montana but was struggling to believe anyone would stay away from home for so long for the reasons Quinn did. The romance between Colt and Quinn was your classic true love teen romance that was clearly true love to al around them. I think with any romance you need to take a step away from what would really happen to but in to the happy ever after set up but there were a few gaps I couldn’t take the leap over. Colt’s secret, although not hard to figure out, is unlikely to have been a) a secret and b) an obstacle to overcome for true love.
I’m also not sure I can believe Quinn would’ve left Colt after his accident for the reasons she did.
If you can take a bigger leap then you’ll enjoy this HEA romance

I loved everything about this one... Except the romance.

The story kicks off ten years after Quinn leaves the love of her life and high school sweetheart Colt at the alter. She has since be following her dreams and living in NYC. But those dreams come crashing down around her one day when she receives a phone call from her older brother back in Montana. Their dad has passed away. Its been ten years since she has been home and she knows it will not be a happy homecoming after everything she put Colt and her family through.

I did not love the romance in this story. I felt like the characters never showed any real chemistry. I felt like Quinn had more chemistry with her rival real estate broker that was only on 3 pages in chapter 1. The relationship with colt felt flat and I was constantly being told that this relationship was true love but never shown. I also did not enjoy the way colt treated Quinn with his big secret (also very obvious by the way). All of the relationship problems were of their own making and would of been solved with simple communication.

Thought there were things in this book that were very well done. The way the grief was handled and portrayed was fantastic. I loved that you really explored how the the death of a parent and their final words can really play as strong impact on someones life. I loved how the siblings relationships are shown in this, its not all happy and sometimes family is messy. But at the end of the day you are still family. The scene around the fire where they are all passing around drinks and sharing stories was my absolute favorite and it brought tears to my eyes.

Overall it was a good read with some wonderful family relationships and a very well done mountains in the fall atmosphere. Just wish I had loved the romance aspects a bit more.

Sweet Home Montana is a quick romantic read about second-chances with both exes and with family. Quinn left Colt at the altar ten years ago in order to chase her dreams in NYC and hasn't returned home to Montana at all until she gets a call from her older brother that changes everything. Once she returns, she's not exactly welcomed back with open arms, especially from her longtime love, Colt.

I really enjoyed this novel and feel that it has the perfect blend of sweet, sexy, and conflict. I struggled a bit with Quinn and her decisions not to see her family for ten years, but overall I liked her character. There's a lot of emotion in this one between the death of a loved one, anger from loved ones, and reconciling feelings for someone that were thought long-buried.

I must say that I guessed the big twist with Colt pretty early on, so that took away some of the excitement from the story, but overall this was a good read. The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that I feel like I have read this twenty or more times this year. The "young woman returning to her family's ranch after all these years plot" is a bit overused I think.

Oof. I had to take some time to decompress after this one. Don't read it until you're ready to cry. A lot.
Shann McPherson so beautifully puts grief, love, and heartbreak into words.
The "secret" in the book was predictable, but regardless, Sweet Home Montana is a stunner.

This book was shown through Quinn's first person POV. I'm not usually a fan of just one side in first person, especially in romance, but this was done brilliantly. This book was about love, regret, the guilt that hangs on to us for years after our mistakes, forgiveness, redemption, family, and so much more. Not just about a man and a woman in love, but families, siblings, and how our actions can affect others. It's also about miscommunication, and wow was there a lot of miscommunication in this book.

I liked Quinn. I do understand her leaving and not coming back for 10 years. Fears and real life, to name a few. My sister lives thousands of miles away and unfortunately doesn’t visit often. It happens. The only thing that truly bothered me is her going back the 2nd time. But I think that’s also what I liked about it, because real life is so hard, and this book had so much truth even if it is fictional.

The book starts off with showing Quinn in her element in her high-powered job in NYC, where she left the love of her life at the altar to follow her dream. Quinn is stubborn and hardheaded at times, and could and would actually let that affect her relationships. That is so true to life for so many of us that I loved seeing how true to life and the deepest part of her feelings. A few things I had guessed correctly, but the way the author just kept those secrets and finally revealed them was heartbreakingly perfect in how real life can be. It also kept me entranced. This was a great novel that I had a hard time putting down.

I love, love, love the second-chance romance trope, and I’m a big fan of small town stories, so Sweet Home Montana should have been right up my alley. Sadly, it was not.

Quinn Wagner left her groom at the altar when she decided to pursue her dreams in New York City, instead of settling down on the family ranch in her small hometown in Montana. Ten years later, she’s summoned back to their ranch when her father dies.

But her homecoming is less than welcoming. The town’s gossips have a long memory for the girl who broke the heart of the town hero (although, that was more something we’re told, rather than see for ourselves), and her twin brother reminds her often how angry he is that she abandoned the family so long ago. Turns out there was a bit of family dysfunction there even before daddy’s girl flew the coop...

Then there’s Colt, who’s still working on the ranch, and apparently still has lingering feelings for Quinn. Of course, a lot has happened during their separation. Quinn just needs to figure out if she can deal with all of it.

This was not a fun, lighthearted read. I wasn't expecting it to be, but this was like trodding through ankle deep muck. For starters, everyone was still really angry with Quinn, as if her leaving left them all in the lurch, struggling to run the ranch on their own. I get that she never even came home to visit, and that caused her father a lot of sadness, but it all seemed too much for a wound that's so old.

But I give the author props for flipping the “left at the altar” bit on its side, since usually it’s the bride who gets jilted. And I really appreciated the plot twist that ultimately sent Quinn running a second time - the hints weren’t obnoxious or too frequent. But here’s the thing...you can’t be making the same mistakes at 30 that you made ten years earlier. It makes it hard to root for you, which is what happened here. If the shoe were on the other foot, I’d be telling that woman to cut her losses and move on. If someone forgives you for being a selfish flake, you ought not repeat that same behavior.

So that’s where I landed with this one. The writing was good, but I didn’t particularly like the characters or the way their story shook out. There’s so much that goes into enjoying a book - the actual writing, the characters, the storylines - and when two out of the three are a miss, it makes for a disappointing read. Would I read a second book by this author, or another in this series? Eh, maybe. We’ll have to see...

Sweet Home Montana by Shann McPherson is a wonderfully written book for this new author. This book was heavy on guilt for bad decisions, heavy on sadness for the loss of years and people loved, heavy on family drama, and with a bit of second chance romance thrown in. I found the story to be very emotional with the loss of a family figure, and heartache over choices made and misunderstandings. This is Quinn and Colt’s story. The storyline worked well, the characters were well-written, and the side family stories rounded out the book. This author tackled some big emotional issues and she wrote them very well. I enjoyed the story and will look for more books by this author in the future. I received this advanced copy from Netgalley for my honest review.

The tempo was perfect, and for a new author, I never felt like the story line "stalled." The author, Shann McPherson did a good job of building up the suspense for Colt's big secret using dialog between him and Quinn. It would have been an even bigger surprise if the author had not shared a huge hint halfway through the novel.

The only part I found difficult to relate to is why Quinn left for New York, and didn't return for 10 years. She obviously had a good home life, and it sounded like she spoke with her dad daily by telephone.

Overall,Sweet Home Montana was well done, and I look forward to seeing this author and her writing in future novels.

A lovely read about second chances and maybe your dreams aren't always what you need. I flew through the pages of this book & am looking forward to reading more by this author

For a debut, this author has certainly outdone herself with penning this tale. Quinn travels home to her family farm after being away for approximately 10-years, when her dad passes away. She knows that she will have to come face to face with Colt who was her childhood sweetheart after leaving him behind. The chemistry is still intense between them, but Colt has a secret. This is a well written tale which is a beautiful 2nd chance romance story, and is filled with drama, emotions, secrets, witty banter, and with engaging characters, which all lead to a humorous and entertaining read. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future and recommend this for all readers.

this is the first book i read by this author, and although i found the book cliché and predictable i liked it. I have a weakness for second chance stories so I always find myself liking stories like this and here I think the author did a great job in writing creating a captivating universe, good characters and a sweet and romantic story

Sweet Home Montana, written by Shann McPherson, is a sweet second chance romance. The story is told from a first person’s point of view- Quinn Wagner’s.

Quinn is a young and successful real estate entrepreneur. She has built a career very well for herself in New York . Following her mother’s advice, Quinny wants to follow her dreams. She wants to make sure that she is not wasting her precious time but, actually, building herself up towards a happy life, because, let’s be honest, who strives to be unhappy?

However, the problem here is, Quinny doesn’t really know what she wants. Seems like leaving Colt at the altar was an impulse decision resulting in broken hearts, hurting families and lost dreams. After 10 years of absence, can she and Colt still rekindle their relationship or is it all gone? Is Sweet Home Montana forever lost?

The author beautifully sets the atmosphere for the novel here. It is tense and gloomy with some romantic episodes mixed in. If it’s tensed, it’s almost as if you can feel the anger and pain hanging in the air; if it’s romantic, you can sense love and passion between Quinn and Colt. It goes from zero to hundred really quick. As for a reader, it is easy to get emotionally involved with a novel and its character which is a lovely thing.

To sum up, it was a really enjoyable read. Beautifully written and, surprisingly, only 170 pages! I would not be bothered if it was even a little longer! For a short read- that’s a lovely story.
