I haven't read the first book in the series but it did not affect my reading much as there was enough back story covered in this installment.

A well written thriller and I actually enjoyed reading it. Both Lexi and Dan are strong and interesting characters, with equally enjoyable supporting characters. Both the cases in the plot were engrossing, interesting and filled with twists and surprises. I did try to guess the suspect but was unsuccessful.

Its's amazing how the book ends on a cliffhanger. I am eagerly waiting for the next book to see what happens.

Thank You to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC!

I didn't really care much for this book, found it a bit heavy going, serious and hard to read, a bit boring for me personally.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

Second in this series and is more a police procedural than a thriller. The second case lacks some more explanation and the main one felt stretched out. About three fourths of the way the narrative slowed. I liked the first book more. 3.5 stars

Thank You NetGalley & Publisher for this gifted e-ARC!

Stumbling to the ground, he claws at the earth around him, trying to stabilise himself, but his attacker is on him in seconds. As he stares at the lights of the bustling streets on the other side of the park gates, he doesn’t even have time to yell for help before everything goes black.

This book was readable. And good!
I found it hard for me keep reading it though.
I don't know if it lacked more.... but I wanted more from this book I guess.

The second well written instalment in this new series sees the team faced with not one baffling case but two. I really don't know why Levi bothers to help the police team; unpaid again and they, (including Lockhart who asks for her help) are ambivalent at best and more often dismissive.
For me these books lack humour, banter or just personality; there's no break from the seriousness and darkness.

Lockhart and Green thriller.
DI Dan Lockhart, ex British Army is searching for his wife Jess who disappeared when he was in Afghanistan 11 years previously.
Dr Lexi Green is an American/British therapist which helped Lockhart on a case the previous year.
He calls her in again to help him solve a series of murders with no real links.
Pacy, well written thriller with some unusual storylines and a suspect that I didn’t foresee.
Enjoyable ending with a good hook to go back for more.

Altogether Unpredictable. A must read.
The story starts with a scene in which someone is telling that he had killed someone and four other people also deserve to die. We came to know that killer ( antagonist ) is introducing himself and the opening scene of this book catched my eyes.
The story is set in Wimbledon, a southwest area of London where something terrible had happened. A businessman named Charles is found dead and his body is covered in bruises. All are calling it a sickeningly disfigured body.
Detective Dan Lockhart is called to investigate the crime scene. At first he was clueless but he was ensured that he was dealing with an unhinged killer who's really brutal in killing. Then a closer look revealed that the killer had marked his victim with a strange mark of black ink on his neck. A killer who's desperate to leave his mark on his victims. Its clear that he's challenging the police and seeing how they will catch him.
Thinking that the killer is unhinged,Dan called psychiatrist Dr. Lexi Green.
They were investigating this case and then a second body is found.
Who's this killer and why is his motive behind killing?
Will Dan and Lexi be able to catch him or will it become too late?
Will the killer strike again?
Read this altogether unpredictable thriller to solve the mystery.
I loved the characters of Dan, Lexi, The Antagonist and other supporting characters. All were good.
Narration of the story is thrilling. I was hooked.
I'll definitely promote this book among my fellow authors, bloggers and followers and ask them to give this thriller a go.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me an advance copy of this awesome crime thriller.
