If you’ve wondered why you don’t fit the world’s mold for most of your life, you need to read this book. Maybe you’ve been working against your God-given character traits instead of with them for your entire life. Perhaps you hang on the outskirts of life thinking you’ve done something wrong because what everyone calls ‘fun’ doesn’t seem like fun to you.

Maybe God created you as an introvert, and not an extrovert. Gerth, an introvert, takes readers through the science of why we have no desire to be the life of the party (or even at the party). She urges introverts to practice self-coaching (not self-criticism or self-pity). Gerth defines self-coaching as ‘kindness and empathy plus action.’ Introverts rarely find it difficult to treat others with kindness, but we spend a lot of useless energy beating ourselves up for who we weren’t meant to be.

Gerth also gives practical advice for designing our days to take into account the draining each activity will exact from our system. She also cheers the introverts on, helping them see that different doesn’t equal better or worse—just different. The world needs quiet, contemplative people. The world needs introverts.

This book will help introverts shine the way God intended them to shine. Now, if I can just get my extroverted spouse to read the book so he understands me a bit better! As an educator, this book will help me better understand how to reach both the extroverts and the introverts in my classroom.

Attention Introverts! This book is a must-read powerful resource in understanding how you are made.
Quote, "...how to move away from common introvert struggles and toward introvert strengths..." Who knew there were "introvert strengths"?
I love how well researched and insightful "The Powerful Purpose of Introverts" is. I am given facts as to why I am created and wired the way I am as an introvert. Such validation and encouragement for me. This is easy to read and understand. So many aha moments as I see the reasons it is o.k. to be quiet, thoughtful and sensitive...to be me! Holley provides tools to recognize, develop and apply my strengths in everyday life and situations.
I would recommend this book to introverts, extroverts, women and men alike who are seeking to understand themselves and others better and to grow!

What an amazing book! Especially for those trying to find understanding on how to THRIVE as introvert with ambition and desire to do more in life. I love how Holley reminds us that introverts are built for quality not quantity. Certain “quirks” {for lack of a better term} tend to get pointed out or noticed when I am building relationships and networking. Before reading this book I was always a little confused whether other's observations of these "quirks" were good or bad. Now I have more understanding why these things may stand out to others, especially my more extroverted friends. Holley removes the molds and calls out the myths around the title “introvert”. Holley Gerth is one of my favorite authors with so many amazing books and this one is above and beyond in addition to being a great resource for those learning and growing in self-awareness.

In “The Powerful Purpose of Introverts: Why the World Needs You to Be You,” Holley Gerth shares the science behind how introverts and extroverts are wired. This book explained why I: need quiet time after a large social event; dreaded having to answer a discussion question on the spur of the moment; preferred to work behind the scenes; and shied away from the spotlight. I had always viewed these as personal weaknesses, rather than who I am. Holley writes, “Introversion isn’t about how much we like people or enjoy socializing; it’s wired into our brains and nervous systems. I believe we are created as introverts and extroverts, both with incredible gifts and potential.” This book encourages an individual to move beyond the struggles to seeing the gifts one has an introvert. The highest compliment I can give an author is a book will be a permanent fixture in my collection. This book will join my shelf of favorite books to be referred to and reread.

I can not say enough positive things about Holley Gerth’s “The Powerful Purpose of Introverts!” I have spent years trying to be more like extroverts I know – wondering what is wrong with me and why I find social settings exhausting instead of invigorating. Holley has done a wonderful job of explaining the true biological differences between introverts and extroverts. But she did not stop with explanations of the biological differences. She also shares many resources for helping introverts discover our true selves, including our strengths and needs. Additionally, Holley helps us to uncover our own unique purpose. After all, God has made us uniquely and with a unique purpose. It’s time for introverts to stop feeling inadequate, be grateful for how He has made us, and live out our powerful purposes!

As 97% introvert, I don't often dwell on why I am the way I am, or why certain situations overwhelm me, annoy me, or perhaps bring me joy. It is encouraging to learn that the way my brain is wired is what drives these responses. It is especially enlightening to realize the different strengths that introverts possess and how they can be applied to enrich my life and the lives of those in my sphere of influence. I have been a fan of Holley Gerth for a very long time, and this book helps me understand why! We are drawn to that which feeds our soul and understanding what, why, how is always liberating.

"While, yes, we want (and need) time on our own, introverts also share an intense love for people and a drive to make a difference in the world." Holley Gerth, The Powerful Purpose of Introverts. How long I have believed the lie that I must not like people very much if I have this desire to spend time by myself. In her new book, Holley dispels many myths of the introvert and opens up a world of truth and power to encourage even the most introverted among us. Through Holley's well researched conclusions, personal insights, as well as Biblical truths from the pages of Scripture, I am learning that alone time does not make me anti-social, filling my social calendar doesn't make me less lonely and that it is perfectly natural for me to for me to take quiet, solitude in order to recharge. Holley's book has helped me to find an appreciation for my God-designed introvert temperament. I highly recommend this book to introverts and extroverts alike!

Holley Gerth holding respect for the myriad of diversity that makes up humanity sheds light on the intricacies of the makeup of a person who is predominantly an introvert. She provides templates for one to understand,
perceive and recognize who we are. Here is an author who has ran a marathon in our shoes.

I do not believe that this book and its creation has come easily. I do believe it has come with a great price and sacrifice With a persistent pursuit of wanting the best for a section of society that for the most part has been vastly misunderstood. Would that all people have such a passionate advocate for them standing in their court cheering them on!

This book perfectly describes how I have felt as an introvert all of my life but could never really adequately explain to others. They would just call me shy and tell me I just need to come out of my shell.

Such freedom comes from being allowed to be your authentic self.

I am 1/3 of the way into this book and I feel like I am having an out-of- body experience. It is as if I am watching my brain being dissected and the results are being reported through this book. Holley, you nailed it. As a seasoned citizen I am just now understanding who I am. And listen, I can now proudly wear the title of INTROVERT.!!!! Actually, I think I like the idea of wearing a cape better.

I love the book. I'm introvert person. I learn how to interact with people and when to spend time alone to get back your energy. You have to eat a balance meal, exercise, drink plenty of water, get 6 to 8 hours of sleep. She gave some Bible verse too. At the end of the book you take a test too.
