Wow! What an absolutely fantastic read that was! I read it in staves on Pigeonhole, but I know that if I'd had an actual copy of the book I would have read it in one sitting!

Carly, Leah and Marie were kidnapped and whilst we know that they escaped (without any physical harm), the story interchanges between the 'now' and 'then'. In the 'now' the 20th Anniversary since they had been kidnapped is fast approaching and things aren't going well. Leah is struggling with OCD and feels like the man behind the kidnapping is back and coming after her. Carly and Marie are struggling with guilt, with Marie also struggling with drugs.

In the 'then' we get talked through the kidnapping and how they escaped. You would think that being kidnapped is the worst thing that could have happened to anyone, but in this case what came after is even worse. You might think that's not possible, but in this case what came after really was worse.

Carly, Leah and Marie wormed their way into my heart and I won't be forgetting their story in a hurry. The book was so beautifully written that I found myself living through the girls'/women's terror, heartbreak, pain, sadness. I actually found myself crying during the last few chapters. Carly was my favourite and (without giving away the why) I literally felt my heart breaking for her. I loved her for her bravery and courage.

This is by far one of the best books I've read this year and I would highly recommend it!

Thank you to Pigeonhole, NetGalley, publisher HQ and Louise Jensen for the chance to read this fantastic book!

Louise Jenson never fails to produce a gripping read, and this latest book certainly did not disappoint.
The storyline was captivating and reeled you in from the start. The characters were detailed and realistic, and the plot was full of twists and turns you couldn't possibly anticipate.
A definite must read!

Louise Jensen is a time thief! She stole the hours out of my day when I was reading The Stolen Sisters and before I knew it day had turned to night! With jawdropping cliffhangers at the end of every chapter it's IMPOSSIBLE to put this book down and I read just one more after one more after one more chapter until I'd devoured every single fantastic word that Louise Jensen had written.

13 year old Carly was looking after her 8 year old twin sisters, Marie and Leah, when they were abducted from the street outside their home. The sisters may have returned physically unharmed after their ordeal but the mental scars run deep. Each sister blames themselves for what happened, despite assurances from each other that none of them are to blame. It's a difficult time for the sisters as the twenty year anniversary of their abduction approaches, but it's made even worse by the person responsible being released from prison.

Blisteringly fast-paced, I absolutely tore through The Stolen Sisters at a rate of knots. It feels like every character is hiding something so I wanted to uncover each one's story as fast as possible, as well as find out what happened twenty years ago. As it says on the cover, the Sinclair family were torn apart by the abduction and it's heartbreaking to see the long term effects of this one terrible action.

It's impossible to say that one of the sisters has been hit the hardest as they are all suffering terribly in their own way, however, I found Leah to be the most intriguing character. Leah not only suffers from OCD and a fear of germs, but she has a condition called Fregoli Syndrome where she believes that she sees the face of the same person on different people. Wow, this must be such a scary condition; just imagine that someone is out to get you and you see them everywhere you turn. Nobody believes you are in danger from your persecutor as you suffer from this rare delusion so you're treated like the boy who cried wolf when you do voice your fears. It's such an interesting and thought-provoking condition to give a character and it perfectly fits the storyline.

The Stolen Sisters is absolutely brilliant; it's a gripping, fast-paced page turner. I've read quite a few of her novels and I think it's Louise Jensen's best book yet. Set aside a couple of hours when you pick up this book as you will not be able to put it down. It's a fantastic read and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Interesting read, a little bit out of the ordinary for this type of story and there were a couple of surprises along the way which was good. I thought it was a little breathless and possibly drawn out, but overall a good read.

What a gripping read. The book relays the terrifying story of three girls, Carly, Leah and Mare that are kidnapped one day when home alone. As the 20th anniversary of the kidnapping approaches the book constantly moves between the past and the present and the different point of views of the girls and of George, Leah’s husband.
I could not put the book down. In Part One I was hooked to keep reading to find out what would happen to the girls after the kidnapping. And in part two when all the secrets finally come out in the present you are taken from one twist to another.
Thank you to NetGalley and HQ for letting me review this book.

I read the author’s note when I finished the book and she says that the thought of child abduction was too awful to contemplate, however, being able to start writing the book in the present knowing that the children survived physically, despite their emotional scars was doable.

For me, I put off reading this book for the very reason the author gives and I wish I’d read her note sooner. Once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down. I empathised with all three children, but particularly Carly, the elder sister.

Carly is asked, again, to babysit for Marie and Leah, her younger twin half-sisters, when the three of them are snatched and bundled into a van, only to be locked in an abandoned army camp. Carly manages to free them all but there are serious repercussions, especially when they discover who was behind their kidnapping. The three girls, now women, have all grown up living with this trauma. Carly is not able to form close relationships, Marie has an alcoholic dependency and Leah has OCD and Fregoli Syndrome.

A serious edge-of-the-seat read by a writer who is experienced at holding her audience precisely where she wants them.

Highly recommended, 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

A fabulously dark and twisted thriller. An excellent pace throughout the book that keeps you reading long in to the night

A totally gripping read. It is a story of three sisters. Carly is the eldest and is half sister to twins Leah and Marie. Twenty years ago the girls were abducted and kept captive until they managed to escape. We learn throughout the book what impact this has on their lives and relationships and is told in the past and present. As the twenty year anniversary approaches we find that Carly still blames herself as with her being that eldest she feels that she should have protected her sisters better, Leah is married with a young son, is struggling to hold her marriage together and is petrified that something will happen to her son. Marie is now into drugs after being a alcoholic for years. Leah feels that the msn who kidnapped them is back and the sisters begin to receive mysterious messages. This is a fantastic psychological thriller with a tense and dramatic plot. It has plenty of twists and turns with a huge surprise at the end. This is a book you won’t be able to put down. A brilliant read.
Thanks to Netgalley and HQ for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

Omg what a book! Read in one go, which I never do and I had to keep explaining to my fella what I'd just read, my reactions were so strong.

Flawless! Absolutely bloody brilliant!

Louise Jensen is definitely one to watch!!

I am a huge fan of Louise Jensen’s books, so I was very excited to start this and I can 100% say I was gripped and loved every second of this story!!

The Sinclair sisters Carly 13, 8 year old twins Leah and Marie are abducted by masked men. They managed to escape but their dreadful ordeal has changed all their lives and left long lasting damage.

The story is told with 2 dual timelines, when the girls were abducted and 20 years later.

It’s the eve of the 20th anniversary of when they were taken and Leah is convinced she is being followed, is it to do with their abduction?

This has so many twists along the way and is certainly not your average child abduction story. I found myself questioning every thing I read and analysing every word.

A MUST read book, but be warned if you have never read a Louise Jensen story before you will be addicted after your first page and will want to devour all her books.

My advise is to cosy down before starting this and enjoy the rollercoaster of a ride that is about to commence!!!

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for a review.

A taut, twisty psychological thriller.

I really enjoy reading taut, twisty psychological thrillers and ‘The Stolen Sisters’ certainly hits the spot! The plot centres around the three Sinclair sisters . . . Carly aged thirteen, and her eight-year-old twin sisters . . . Leah and Marie.

From the outset, it becomes clear that a dreadful abduction takes place and Louise Jensen gives an extremely moving description of the bleak conditions and the terrors that these girls must have experienced. Carly, being the eldest, feels a huge responsibility towards her younger twin sister, so putting herself under immense stress.

I really enjoyed the short, sharp chapters of “Then” and “Now” so that the plot unravelled from each of their perspectives as well as from George . . . Carly’s husband. This raised the game for me, so adding to the enjoyment of a great page-turner!

I found it very interesting to learn about the sensitive condition of OCD and how the author tackles this with great empathy. Also, I must note that the sisters’ shocking abduction impacts hugely on each character’s adult life. There are secrets galore, and I was really shocked when the truth was revealed! Thank you, Louise Jensen, for a riveting read!

So this book gripped me from the very first page! I loved the multiple POVs, the switch between past and present and the short chapters. However, I found the middle a little slow and also didn't enjoy the ending. This story is full of twists and turns, something was just missing for me unfortunately.

Three children are abducted from outside their home, in a quiet little town and this story kept me gripped until the very last page. There were plenty of suspects with twists and turns to keep me interested. This is a great read and I don’t hesitate to recommend it. The Stolen Sisters is a great composition 10/10

At the beginning of this book we know that the three sisters were abducted as children and that this has had painful consequences for each girl. We are only given tantalising glimpses of their ordeal every few chapters. I was absolutely rapt and positively surged through the book and I have to say that the denouement at the end of the first section left me breathless. But there were more shocks to come, culminating in a thrilling end. This was the first book I had read by this author and I really enjoyed it so was delighted to find that she has written other psychological thrillers. I can't wait to get stuck into them.

I normally love this author and have enjoyed most of her books but I really struggled with this one 🙁 It was extremely slow and didn’t really get going until half way through and then it all seemed a little rushed. I just couldn’t warm to the characters and found the storyline tough going

Another great book by Louise Jensen. The story is told in two timelines, 20 years ago when all 3 sisters were kidnapped and the present day. There was a great twist that I wasn’t even close to guessing.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for a copy of this ebook in exchange for my honest review.

The Stolen Sisters tells the terrifying tale of three sisters who are abducted as children, and the long lasting impact this has on their lives, the traumatic events during their time in captivity have caused psychological problems for each of the three sisters. The story alternates between the time of abduction and the present day, full of twists an unpredictable conclusion.

A thriller about three sisters who were kidnapped and then later in life suffer in their own ways emotionally from the ordeal. The book is centred around the 20 year anniversary. Gripping book was a good read.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest, independent review.

Twenty years ago, the Sinclair Sisters - thirteen-year-old Carly and her eight-year-old twin half-sisters Leah and Marie - were abducted from outside their family home. By working together, they managed to escape their abductors.

Now, in the present day, as the twentieth anniversary of their abduction approaches, the emotional scars remain. Leah thinks she is being followed, especially as she has just heard their abductor has been released; Marie drinks to forget; Carly blames herself for what happened. But can they ever recover when not everyone is telling the truth?

I love Louise Jensen's books; they also have me gripped from the beginning, and this book was no different! Full of unexpected twists and turns, I was on an emotional rollercoaster from the beginning to the final page.

A shocking read, it slowly builds up and up, until it's bursting with high tension.

The book is told from the points of view of all three sisters, in the present day and 20 years ago, so the reader is drawn in as secrets are revealed during the two timelines, before everything comes together as one big shock at the end.

A total guessing game; a great read!
