This book was an absolute delight! It was wintry, the romance was fluffy, and the male interest was swoon-worthy. Definitely a book I would love to have a physical copy of!

This is a stunning Christmas read, very light-hearted and fluffy - I could have easily sat and read it within one sitting.

Liberty likes her life in a specific order, life in damselfly cottage is very structured and in that Liberty finds comfort.

Alexander likes to live life of the edge, a world champion motorcycle racer he is a globetrotter who has no roots.

When Liberty sets herself a month of challenges in December to shake herself out of her comfort zone she decides to take in a lodger and when her friends fiances friend is over in the UK whilst recovering for a motorcycle racing accident, can two opposites really attract.

This was a great book and I really enjoyed seeing Libery face all her challenges and the imagery is so good I could imagine the beautiful quilts she makes as described in the book.

Definitely a book to curl up with and enjoy during a wintry evening.

Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of this book in return for an honest review

I received a copy of this book to review from Netgalley. Thank you for the opportunity.
A lovely and sweet romance with enty of heart. I loved the MC who was really relatable and the growth she showed during this story. I liked the friendships and found families as well as the romance.
At times the MC was staid and boring because of her timidity but this wasn't such a big issue.
On the whole, a great read.

i really wanted to like this as I have liked Sophie Claire's other books but I only got half way through before I gave up. The characters just didn't grab me this time round and the story just felt a little flat, perhaps I've overdosed on too many Christmas books this season?

I'm sure it other readers will love it. One I may try again at a later date.

A Winter Dream by Sophie Claire

Liberty McKenzie lives in a small cottage in a rural village. A young woman beautiful inside and out. As she approaches her thirtieth birthday she decides that she needs, to not be so afraid of life and decides to take on a new challenge ever day. Her first challenge is to take in a lodger to help ease her financial burden and to look for someone to fall in love with.

It is a beautifully written story of a young woman struggle to deal with the hand life deals her in a gentle and helpful way always being there for others.

Her journey on her challenges and trials will fill you with laughter and tears about people’s generosity, love and things are not always as they seem.

Lovely characters with beautiful descriptions and generally leaves you with a lovely warm fuzzy feeling .

Great read look forward to reading more of Sophie Claire offerings in the future.

How good it is to be back in Willowbrook with an all new standalone story. Although if you are already a fan of Sophie Claire then you will be delighted to know that Evie and Natasha are Liberty's good friends and we get fabulous continuations of their stories.

But the main focus of the book is on Liberty, who is rather stuck in her routines, and on turning 30 realises this and decides to challenger herself to a month of saying yes, to be braver throughout December.

The idea is she does a daily challenge that would normally make her feel uncomfortable or make her say no, as after all she is rather a homebody, loves quilting, spending time with Charlie (who is a very clever labrador), just playing it safe the whole time. She is also feeling disconcerted as she is so used to spending time with Carys, who is currently in a coma unfortunately.

I absolutely loved how Liberty's character was developed and the various challenges she sets herself, from getting a lodger, which is where Alex comes in, to trying to date, to conquering specific fears. Throughout it all you see what a caring and loving person Liberty really is.

Alex on the other hand takes a bit longer to fully warm to, but then his entrance didn't exactly endear himself to Liberty in the first place.

They are complete opposites and I loved seeing how they learnt to get on with each other, although I did want to slam their heads together too on more than one occasion.

It's a story of self discovery, but also of quilting. We learn a great deal about quilting and I loved seeing how the various designs turned out.

This is a another heart-warming and really pleasing read from an author who I'm loving more and more with each book and I can't wait to see what she writes next.

Thank you to Hodder & Stoughton and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily,

This book is the perfect festive read!.
I loved everything about it. Sophie brought the setting to life beautifully and made me want to escape to Damselfly cottage myself. The characters were all so unique and likeable, and as Liberty an Alex's story unfolds it is truly heartwarming.
Full to the brim with love, humour and truly heartwarming moments... everyone needs to read this beautiful book.

I loved this book. It is an uplifting story about second chances and finding love in unexpected ways. The story is set in Britain in the country and in Provence, France. Both places are described beautifully so that you'd like to visit them immediately.
I loved the two protagonists who both are hurt people. It was lovely to see the slow progress of their healing. And the end is very hopeful.
I also liked the supporting cast with very loveable people.
I had some really enjoyable hours with this book and I can recommend it to anyone who likes a good romance by a talented author.

This book is the perfect one if you are looking for something to vibe with Christmas ahead time. It is set during December and, being set in a small town (Willowbrook) filled with snow and a cottage, makes it 10 times better.
We follow Liberty, a red- haired focused on her routine, her ways and his "danger-free" life, who after 6 months of having her best friend and roommate in a coma, she decides to challenge herself during the whole month of December, and what does she decide? To say yes to everything that anyone proposes her during the whole month.
We also follow Alex, a blonde, French, addicted to adrenaline motorbike racer, who has to visit Willowbrook to look for her lost half sister, and OH, surprisingly, he needs a place in town to stay, and that's when Liberty and Alex´s paths cross.
He hates being in that little, dull town (as he says), and she can't stand his loud bike, his awful manners and how he calls her on everything she does.
As they spend time together (because sharing a cottage and not acknowledging the other would be kind of difficult), they will reassure that they are the last thing the other needs, that they could not be more different, but what if they are the example that opposites attract?
I would have loved to read a bit more romance buuut, it that only is because i am a romance addict, without chances of recovery *wink wink*
Discover this slow burn romance, with a French cutie, a sewing addict, a lovely Labrador and many many challenges in A winters dream.

Liberty's very much a homebody & her life is full of routine, but is this really how a 30 year old should be living her life? Her best friend is in a coma & her new lodger Alex is her total opposite...do opposites really attract?

This book certainly gives you the festive feels & will certainly get you into the Christmas spirit & I adored every minute of reading it!

As the days grow colder and the nights draw in, what could be better than curling up with this lovely, heartwarming story by Sophie Claire? The third in a series but easily read as a standalone, A Winter’s Dream has everything you could possible need or want from the perfect festive read to escape with this winter. There is a warmth to this author’s writing that draws you into the lives of the characters from the outset, soon finding yourself emotionally invested in the outcome of the choices they make. And then there’s gorgeous Charlie, Liberty’s Labrador, who even the coldest of hearts would find it impossible not to warm to!

Liberty loves the quiet life she lives in Willowbrook with her Labrador, Charlie. But when a mysterious gift arrives Liberty decides to make some changes, starting with a daily challenge to say yes to everything for the whole month of December. What could possibly go wrong?!

She soon finds herself with a new housemate, Alex, who is searching for a new direction in life after an accident cuts short his promising motorcycling career. As the sparks fly, will living together prove to be a step too far for this unlikely pair? Or can Liberty and Alex put aside their differences long enough to help each other as they come to terms with the hand life has dealt them? As the snow falls and they find themselves cut off from the outside world, one thing is for certain: life is never going to be the same again.

What follows is a lovely, warm and emotional tale that once started I did not want to end! I loved spending time with these characters and could quite happily have carried on reading about Damselfly Cottage, the picture perfect village of Willowbrook and the wonderful people who inhabit them. Sophie Claire’s gentle writing and gorgeous characterisation brings this charming story vividly to life, making it feel like you’re being enveloped in a warm, cosy hug that you don’t ever want to break free from!

A Winter’s Dream is a beautifully written, heartwarming festive story of friendship and love that I thoroughly enjoyed. Pure escapism at its very best! I loved it.

A nice read, which gets you feeling festive. it was a tad unrealistic though. Liberty's an anxious person, so I don't believe she'd have changed the way she did in the space of around four weeks. Alex was a little irritating at times. Like another reviewer has said, it would have been nice for the whole of Christmas to take place in England. I loved the setting. I especially loved the dog. Definitely a book you can relax with. With thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
