You know you can count on Ronica Black to deliver some steamy sex scenes and with a title like that, I expected nothing less... but these stubborn women aggravated me at times!

This is a cracker from Ronica Black, I loved the two characters a f you couldn’t help but feel empathy for Cam, loved the setting and the beach descriptions. It’s a rollercoaster of emotion and just great story telling.

Cam and Blake start falling for each other after bad first impressions they had for each other and try entering in a relationship amongst other angst things.

I didn’t love this book but I didn’t hate it either. I just found that the initial meeting irritated me and then the constant angst between the 2 main characters was frustrating. I just wanted to read a chilled romance but I found myself getting irritated by the constant drama.

I loved the setting and could really imagine myself relaxing on the beach!

Thanks to the fine folx over at NetGalley and Bold Strokes for the digital galley of this book.

Cam Santiago lives in a beautiful place, with her dogs and good friends, but her life doesn’t hold much joy since the death of her partner, and she does an excellent job of keeping people at arm’s length. Until the day she runs into an incredibly rude tourist. Blake Livingstone, a family physician, is posed to take over her parent’s practice, but what she really wants to do is open a clinic for the locals in Mexico. Her friends’ beach house would be much more inviting if the impossible and mysterious woman who thinks she’s rude didn’t live next door. The more they fight, the more their passion grows, but even if they give in, Blake will leave and Cam will go back to her solitary life. They’ll have to make some tough decisions if they want to make a go of it.

I read this book on the heels of A Love that Leads to Home, and though I felt there was more tension in it, I loved the enemies to lovers plotline of this one. This plot left a little more to play with since the two characters didn’t know each other from the start, but I think that’s why A Love that Leads to Home was so impressive, carrying that tension without having as much “getting to know you” time.

The tension is solid, but I think the back and forth went on a tad long. It seemed at times that there wasn’t much keeping the two apart, except that they didn’t want to like each other, though it was comical how much Blake’s friends wanted to get them together, at the expense of most everything else.

Ronica Black is one of my favorite authors and she has certainly written another winner with this one! Both Cam and Blake are wonderfully written main characters. The descriptions of the setting make it an idyllic backdrop for this book. I found the dynamic between Cam and Blake from their very first meeting to be incredibly intense. The reader was strung along this ride between the two for a long time, but I didn't find the length to be negative. The multitude of supporting characters really enhanced the plot. This was a really great read!

Nice slow romance with hot sex. This is expected in a Ronica Black book. I enjoyed the story and really liked Cam and Blake. I also enjoyed the supporting characters. The writing is good and the description of the landscape made me yearn for the coast. You won't be disappointed with this book. I recommend.

You gotta love R.B. This was a great romance, hot sassy, sweet. Even though the characters are not you average everyday woman you can relate, and wish for this kind of a story. Great curl up and read in one sitting kind of a book.

Ronica Black has always written a good romance, and she doesn't disappoint with Passion's Sweet Surrender.

Cam and Blake meet, both have reasons for not getting romantically involved, do they dislike each other or are they fighting an attraction.?

Cam has a sad story but thankfully is not the 'Woe is me' character. Blake is a strong character, with the art of rubbing up Cam in the wrong way. You can't help but like both.

What starts as a 'will they, won't they,' builds up to to a hot hot explosion, and not just once.
Would I recommend.....oh yes 100%

This was my first read by Ronica Black and it was unexpectedly good. I am not a fun of this gender but I enjoyed reading Passion's Sweet Surrende; I might read some more books of this author.
I liked Cam and Blake and the supporting characters, the storyline, the descriptions of the landscape, the dogs...
The story was slow burn romance, the attraction and chemistry fought at every turn but in the end Cam and Blake gave in and had to admit and accept the intense connection they had from the beginning.
Overall it was a good read and I will rate it with 3.75 stars.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC provided!

This is a good book. I'm not a fan of super enemies to lovers but in spite of that the book was still engaging. Both main characters are likable even with their flaws. Having the animals added to the storyline only makes it better. An easy enjoyable read.  I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I'm a huge fan of Ronica Black. In Too Deep, Flesh and Bone and Wild Abandon just to name a few are my favorites. Without giving too much away. Dr. Blake Livingstone has no desire to take over the family practice. She instead goes to the West Coast of Mexico with her friends Sloane and McKenna. Here with the help of Sloane, she plans on finding a place to open her own small practice to help the villagers and surrounding neighbors. Upon her arrival she crosses path with a rude woman at the local market.
Cam Santiago is a recluse, deeply haunted by the death of her wife and is struggling to get her writing mojo back. She has lived on the beach for quite some time and has become friendly with most of the locals. When her neighbor ask for help she discovered that the attractive but rude stranger from the market would be staying with them.
Needless to say, Blakes friends are constantly trying to hook them up. Even though both women are attracted to each other they cannot stand to be in the same room. Over time they got to know each other and fell in love. I loved both characters and thought they were well developed. Cam is a bit stubborn but most importantly compassionate, kind, giving and a true friend. She is always willing to help without a second thought. Blake is also stubborn but an awesome Doctor with a big heart. My only issue was I wish that Cam and Blake communicated better.. Regardless, its worthy of five stars and you will enjoy reading this book....
Thank you NetGalley, Bold Stroke Books and Ronica Black

Cam's heart won't ever be the same and Blake has escaped to Mexico on a mandated vacation. This enemies to lovers book has a slow build, beautiful setting, and likeable characters. The conflict between the characters is mild and mainly misunderstandings. There is character development throughout the book and the plot is secondary to the slow burn love.

I appreciated the LGBTQ+ protagonists and the book was well written. The pacing was a little off and the conflict not high enough to make this an engaging read for me, but it will fit many reader's expectations.

What a lovely story!
I honestly could not put it down. The sorrow Cam was dealing with was described so well I could feel it all.
The connection to Blake was very strong from the beginning and neither of them was going to admit it. The thing is opposites attract. Especially such a gentle souls as the two of them.
Story is wonderful. Full of dreams and hopes and bit of disappointment. As every good story it ends well and that matters the most.
I totally love every book of Ronica, so no surprise I loved this one as well.

Based on the description, I was expecting something sappier, but this has a gritty, real feel to it.
The conflict is unbelievably annoying, but I understand why it was necessary and in character, even for two perfectly nice people. I really liked the characters. I found Cam a little over the top in the beginning, but that isn't really fair considering her backstory. That part was also well done, being slowly revealed without beating around the bush. I thought it was a little unrealistic that Cam was pretty much healed by the end, but not a major issue. The relationship is intense: out of the few enemies-to-lovers that I've read, this was the most true to that theme. They antagonize each other to no end, and there are some painful blows landed, but in the end it still felt like they belonged together. Plus, I'm usually too shy to mention love scenes, but there were a lot of them here, and it got steamy. Off the charts chemistry? Check.
Four and a half stars.

Thank you NetGalley, the author and publishers for the opportunity to read "Passion's Sweet Surrender" and review it.

I enjoy reading Ronica Black's novels. There are always multidimensional characters, a complicated storyline, and enough drama to keep the reader guessing throughout. This was no exception.

However, I did find it a tough read initially. It can be hard for a reader to initially engage with a book and add in some unpleasant individual character personality traits, it was hard to have a reason initially to read on. Blake appeared unstable, rude and ill-mannered. And her friends loved to interfere and tell tales. It was hard to get a handle on the main and sub characters and I'm not sure I still can envisage them individually. All their names are similar and the natural flair for interference didn't endear me to the sub-characters. Thankfully McKenna came into her own and was pivotal in moving the plot along.

So what we have here is an enemies to friends lesfic romance between complicated characters who both had hidden depths and were great once the facades and barriers were down, As the storyline progressed, the easier it became to be immersed and overall it was a steady 4" read.

I loved the overall theme of this book - two women, each damaged in their own way, meet by chance in a small seaside Mexican town. There's instant dislike on each women's part.

I loved the tone. The author did a great job of setting the scene and pulling the reader into the setting. I had a couple of problems with the book overall. First, I didn't like how Blake's friends/Cam's neighbors pushed so hard to get them together despite their protests. It was obnoxious. The second thing that kept me from really getting into the story was the constant angst. I love drama in lesbian romance, but this was relentless.

Overall, good story, but I could have used a bit more lightness to it.

This is a read about how to cope/how to move on when you have loss the love of your life. This is also a read about having the courage to follow your dreams and your heart. Neither is easy. While reading, I thought about heartache, friendship, and the beautiful landscape. Blake Livingstone, physician, workaholic, looking to open a medical clinic in a small town in Mexico. Cam Santiago, big heart, loner, and trying to find contentment after the death of her wife by living one day at a time with her three dogs.

When the two meet, it is sharp words and insults. However, the comments are stated in such a way that if they just keep talking and with some intervention by well meaning friends, they can see that the other is not a jerk. The will they or won't they move from the enemy zone to the friend zone was a little much as they went back and forth. On the other hand, I would see how both Cam and Blake needed to process what was happening internally and externally. The sex was smoking hot and most entertaining.

Cam Santiago lives in a beachside town in Mexico, haunted by the death of her wife several years ago she generally keeps to herself but has made an impression on the locals with her generosity.  Blake Livingstone is visiting with her friends who just happen to be neighbours of Cam. Blake's purpose for visiting is to set up a doctor's practice in the general area. Cam and Blake despite being wildly attracted to each just somehow always rub each other the wrong way.
I really enjoyed this book, the storyline was engaging, the chemistry between Cam and Blake felt real and it didn't feel cheesy. I loved the sub characters and how they were overtly trying to push Cam and Blake together, the dialogue was pretty amusing. Ronica Black is a great writer and knows how to build the tension...another winner from Black.
