Thank you to Netgalley and Amazon for giving me this ARC in return for an honest review. I thought this book was beautifully written. I really enjoyed the character development and how the relationship is shown in this novel. I found that I was intrigued from chapter 1 and that 'Forgetting You' made me so emotional that I had to have a box of tissues next to me! I think it's a really unique and intriguing storyline which makes it extremely interesting and gripping; people like to read something they haven't read before! I was so glad I managed to get an ARC for this and I would highly recommend it! My only criticism would be that some scenes were lacking excitement which mean that - and I really do only mean a very FEW scenes - it could be a little slower paced in parts than I would have liked. But this didn't take away from the novel as a whole and I thoroughly enjoyed it! |
This is your typical L.A.Casey book and her style of writing. Maybe that is why I didn't find it so amazing and great because it is so alike her other books. This second chance love story was predictable and had no surprising twist. The characters are developed. I did have some problems and frustration with Noah and her actions especially staying in relationships in which she stays and for so long. I expected so much more and better. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley |
This is hard because I really like LA Casey's work and I even enjoy super angsty drama, but this was just too much for me. In order for me to really enjoy a book I need to like the characters and I just couldn't get into them. |
3.5 to 4 stars - This was an enjoyable, intriguing read. "I loved him so completely that it scared me. He was someone who could break me without even trying." Noah Ainsley and Elliot McKenna fell in love at 18. Over a decade later, they are no longer together and Noah is married to another man. However, after a horrific car accident, when Noah wakes up from a coma in the hospital, she's lost the last five years of her life: she thinks she's only 24, happily in love with Elliott, and her husband is a complete stranger to her. "I'll always come runnin' when ye need me...You're my person." This story was romantic yet traumatic. Noah and Elliot were so in love with one another. Obviously something happened that broke their relationship and Noah struggled to remember anything, often to the point of hurting herself, as she was suffering from a traumatic brain injury. Elliott was such a great guy - yes, he made a mistake years before and neither of them handled it well, but there's no denying his devotion to Noah. Noah's husband, Anderson, was an enigma, and we don't really learn much about him, although we get little snippets and clues about him. There was also great camaraderie and banter between Elliot and his fellow firefighters. I loved hwo they supported him and each other. Overall, a great read. |

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Great characters, great storyline and dramatic twist at the end. I did guess who the good guy was very early on but I wasn't expecting the level of drama at the end, so I was still pleasantly surprised. I won't spoil the ending for anyone but it was intense, great ending. Good levels of suspense throughout. I read this book so fast, couldn't put it down because I needed to know what happened next. I was drawn in from the start. I quickly developed strong emotions towards the characters. Fantastic book. |

I have not had the pleasure of reading any L.A. Casey books before, so I was not sure quite what to expect. The cover and the description intrigued me, however, so I requested a copy. I was glad I did! This was an enjoyable, quick read. The book opens with a terrifying phone call being made to Elliot McKenna. His younger sister Bailey and Noah, his ex-girlfriend, are on the other end of the line. Terror and panic characterize the call, which suddenly ends in a horrifying scream and a dead line. When the call comes to the fire station where Elliot is a firefighter about a car wreck, he is filled with dread and suspicion. His worst fears are confirmed when his crew arrives on the scene: Bailey and Noah are in the mangled car that bursts into flames shortly after their arrival. Bailey was killed on impact but Noah survives, albeit with a traumatic brain injury that leaves her with amnesia about the previous five years. In her damaged mind, she and Elliot are still a couple madly in love. Will her memories return or will Elliot receive a second chance at the love of his life? Forgetting You is a very predictable novel. From the beginning, it is clear that Noah's current husband, Anderson, has some serious issues. It is also clear who Noah will ultimately choose to be with and how the other party will take this news. That being said, it was a decently written book with some steamy romantic scenes. The characters were fairly one-dimensional (Elliot = good, Anderson = bad) but still likable. For a quick, steamy chick-lit read...3 stars! It's worth picking up and giving a try. |
Elliot McKenna hasn't heard the voice of the woman he loves in four long years. So when Noah Ainsley leaves him a voicemail his heart soars... until it is shattered beyond repair... Noah has been is a terrible accident, and wakes up from a coma with amnesia of her last five years, to find her life has drastically changed... and she has no idea why.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Forgetting You was a heart-wrenching, second chance romance that will make you believe in the magic of everlasting, true love. After an accident that leaves her mentally missing the last five years of her life, Noah works to put the pieces together of just how her life became so unrecognizable to her, and why she hasn't spoken to Elliott, the man she has always loved in YEARS. When Noah wakes up in the hospital, not only with the loss of her memory, but also the news that she apparently hasn't spoken to her parents in years, she and the love of her life have broken up, and she's married... to a man she can never remember meeting. Elliot's life changed immensely due to Noah's accident, but when she awakens, he realizes the second chance he has always wanted has finally arrived. Holding vigil in her hospital room and spending as much time with her as he can, they slowly reconnect after the years they've been apart. But, while Noah is still in the dark about what happened in the five years she has forgotten, the truth will slowly come out... and may send her running right back to where she left off.. This was a very good story. Heavy and emotional, and causing more than a few tears, the love story between Noah and Elliot was vastly beautiful, and very, very complicated. I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review. |

This story is a about a second chance love. Elliot and Noah are reunited on dramatic event . They will have to learn to forgive themselves and forgive the other and most important , listen to their hearts. |
It's a story about Noah and her complicated romantic life. She has lost her memory and does not remember her husband. She still feels love for her ex with whom she had a breakup five years ago. Will she accept her new love or will she stay in her past? Do read to know what happens. |
Forgetting You by L.A. Casey is a romantic thriller. Noah Ainsley wakes up in a hospital with no memory of the last few years. Noah does not recognize her husband, and wonders why she is no longer with Elliot, the love of her life. I enjoyed this book, but it was slow at times, and predictable. I will be reading more book by this author. I recommend this book if you are looking for a light thriller. I received a complimentary copy of this book. When Noah Ainsley wakes up in a hospital room with no recollection of how she got there, all she knows is that she needs to see Elliot, the love of her life. Then she learns the horrifying truth: her short-term memory has been destroyed by a car accident . She and Elliot broke up five years ago. And now she’s married to Anderson, a man she doesn’t even recognize. In an instant Noah’s world is turned on its head. All she wants is Elliot by her side, but it’s clear Anderson is hurt by her rejection. Can she really have fallen in love with this stranger? Nothing makes sense—and when even Elliot refuses to answer her questions, Noah is left feeling all alone. But as her memories slowly return, Noah begins to wonder if she’s been wrong to shut Anderson out—and wrong to put all her trust in Elliot. The ex she loves and the husband she doesn’t remember hold the keys to her past. And when the truth is finally revealed, which future will Noah’s heart choose? #ForgettingYou #NetGalley |
Wow, where do I start? Forgetting You, written by LA Casey, an author I’d never heard of but in passing, I saw this book online, read the blurb and thought it sounded like a book I’d enjoy. I’m always hesitant to do this as I’m rather a fussy reader and new authors to me are sometimes hit and miss. This story encompasses the lives of Firefighter Elliot, girlfriend Noah, their parents, work colleagues and medical staff as Noah enters the hospital in critical condition after a car accident and wakes up not remembering the past 5 years of her life, including her marriage to Anderson. This book had angst, heart, suspense and all the feels of a perfectly complicated love triangle as Noah struggles to piece together the pieces of her past and the accident. I absolutely loved this book and I’ve purchased more books by the author now. A definite 5 🌟 for me! Many thanks to Netgalley and Amazon Publishing UK for a free copy of this book in return for an honest review. All opinions of this book are my own. |

Forgetting You is the first book I’ve read from this author; it was an ok read, I struggled to get through some parts as I felt like the dialogue just kept going and going unnecessarily. Noah’s character got under my skin, there was not much I liked about her. But my saving grace was Elliot who was the perfect gentleman and hero of the story. Noah and Elliot had a young love and had what seemed like an unbreakable relationship early on in life. Noah however, unexpectedly broke things off for very selfish reasons and they didn’t speak again for several years. Until one night, Elliot gets a call about an accident that involves Noah. She wakes up in the hospital with amnesia of recent years, throwing her back to a different time in her life when she and Elliot were still together. As she struggles to heal physically and remember the last years of her life and figuring out how and why she and Elliot are no longer together, the details start to unfold. There is a level of mystery, although, it was horribly predictable and not much of a surprise to me. Still, reading through the drama that ensues kept me entertained for the most part. I found myself rooting for Elliot throughout the story; I wanted him to get his happily ever after; it just so happened to be with Noah. I really tried to like her, but it just didn’t happen. I found her selfish and weak and her dialogue to be so juvenile. |
I really wanted to like FORGETTING YOU by L. A. Casey, the premise was intriguing but I just couldn’t invest in any of the characters. The book begins in the present with flashes to the past, it is well done and flows smoothly which I find is not always the case. The book begins with a tragedy unfolding and still I did not invest in the story. The characters were not fleshed out enough for me and the plot seemed formulaic. It was not one of my favorite books, but I enjoyed it enough. Just left me wanting more depth, more character. |
L.A. Casey strikes again!!! This author storylines are absolutely explosive and the best thing is that Irish Accent she has in some of her books. I absolutely love it!!! Also the funny scenes have me laughing so hard which automatically puts all her books on my top favourites shelf. This one was no less. It was a standalone contemporary second chance Romance that I loved a lot! The Story was amazing and so were the characters. Noah has been in a terrifying accident. She has lost her memory of the last 5 years and the last thing she remembers is being with her soulmate, Elliot. He is the boy whom she has known right from her childhood and has always loved. They were childhood sweethearts and we're destined for each other. Imagine her surprise when she gets to know that she broke up with him years ago and is now married to another man , Anderson. She has no idea who he is and just wants to be with Elliot. Elliot can't imagine his luck. Noah has been the girl who he has always loved. That is until he messed it all up , forcing her to marry someone else. He never got over her. So now when she looks at him with love in her eyes again , can handle that? Win her again? Not to mention her marriage status. Anderson sure isn't going down without a fight. This book's was absolutely amazing! It has that funny parts and those amazing twists that this author has in her books which make them so freaking amazing! A definite top read of mine and a must read for all the contemporary romance lovers out there! |

This book has captured my attention from the first page! I can promise, I won't be "Forgetting You" L.A. Casey, when I am searching for new reads!! This was my first read by this author and wow, she'll be on my TBR pile now. This story had all the 'feels'. I don't know why so many reviews are bad, but that's just an opinion and here's mine. The two main characters had a history, one that was not really over and we'll find out why as the story progresses. Noah has amnesia after a tragic accident giving her and Elliot a second chance to start over. She doesn't know her husband or the last 5 years of her life. You just know there is more to this story, I had an inkling and couldn't wait for the story to unfold as we learned the truth. It was a slow burn, the chemistry sizzled, the characters real and the excitement at the end had my heart racing. Great story and I will look out for more books by this author. |
I was soooo intrigued by this story because I really wanted to know what happened to Noah and Bailey. I fell for Elliot and his love for Noah. Really enjoyed how the author wrote his accent, it was fun. What I didn’t enjoyed much was that there was too much unnecessary detail for me right when the plot was in its climax and I was desperate to know what in the world happened and I kept getting information that honestly I didn’t care much about. But overall it was a fun and entertaining read. |
Sadly, this book didn't work for me. It felt contrived and excessively dramatic. It felt like a lot of effort trying to keep up with an amnesia storyline, and flashbacks, and she feels she loves her ex-boyfriend, but doesn't really question whether she should be with her husband and then, when everything unravels, all that effort in keeping up with the story just doesn't pay off: it turns out their reason for breaking up wasn't that monumental after all and the husband's storyline turns out to be too convenient. So, it was twisty and dramatic, but ultimately not satisfying. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. |
It’s kind of a jumbled mess. The flashbacks don’t really make sense in the order they’re in. There is #CW for cheating, domestic violence, fat shaming.. Noah and Elliott are the MCs but even though Noah is married when they reunite, they sleep together. Her husband is abusive so I don’t know if this is a justification or not because she has memory loss and doesn’t remember that. |
