Although I have not read many of the intervening Shannara since reading and enjoying the original & Heritage trilogies, I couldn't pass up reading the final instalment from this epic series.

It shows the foresight and planning of Terry Brooks that he had this whole series mapped out. The Last Druid doesn't disappoint being his usual mix of good vs evil and an epic battle.

I don't read much fantasy fiction nowadays, however, for Terry Brooks and Raymond Feist I make the exception. Recommended for any fan of the Shannara novels and epic fantasy. Hopefully we will get some more fantasy fiction from Terry Brooks in the near future.

Bittersweet (chronological) finale to the Shannara series, The Last Druid brings the strands from the last three novels (and in fact from the last twenty or so novels) to a conclusion in a satisfyingly open ended way. Brooks is still as great as always. If you love Shannara, you will love this.

The books of the Shannara series are always entertaining and gripping and this one is no exception.
Excellent storytelling and plot development, interesting characters and world building.
It's always a pleasure to travel to Shannara but I'm wondering if this is the last book in this series.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

I started this series such a long time ago and thought it had finished
before the latest books were published .
The Author has built a world full of magic , filled with wonderfully developed characters ,
who fight for the 'light' , many falling by the wayside in their struggles .

In this final installment (?) the battle will be taken to the Skaar homeland - will the new weapon work?
if not all will be lost .
Will those left behind survive the invasion long enough for victory or will the Dark Realm monsters prevail ?

A lot of my energies has been invested in these characters - many have fallen by the wayside , a few have sought redemption , but some have achieved outstanding acts to the benefit of the Worlds around them -
it will be hard to let them go - at least I can re-read the series to bring them back to life .
I will be sad to see the end of this long running series and I hope the Author manages to bring more magic to our lives in other tales in the future .

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

Is this the final instalment of the long running Shannara series. I’ve been reading these books for a very long time so I’m not sure I can accept it’s the end.Always an excellent story teller what else can I say.
The four lands are under attack and the forces for good are separated yet fighting their separate battles. The Elfstones and the wishsong and their weilders will all be needed to play their part. Some will survive and some will not and the world could be changed forever.
The characters are always portrayed well and the detailed descriptions of the various areas of the four lands and the darker realm of monsters cannot be faulted. You can’t help but assume that other writers have been influenced by this author. Ian also sure there is much more to come, maybe not Shannara but something equally memorable.
