A fast paced book about friendships, a myriad of dark secrets and filled with intriguing characters. I have to admit I didn't overly like any of the characters, but I was hooked by the drama and suspense.

Mackenzie Fischer, Lily Santoro and Robin Thompson have been very close friends for more than two decades They met in college and One Perfect Morning revolves around them, encompassing topics such as friendship, family, marriage, abuse, deceit, revenge, betrayal and secrets. The tale was full of action and it wasn't long before I was fully entrenched in the story, unable to leave it alone. I became fully invested in each of the characters as the author gradually built a picture of them. Various twists intensified the suspense level and I wasn't sure until close to the end what the outcome would be.

The audiobook was narrated by Sarah Borges and listening to it was a terrific decision. I thought it was narrated really well and she brought the perfect amount of verve to the proceedings, adding to the drama and infusing the right emotions and character distinctions. If you enjoy dramatic women's fiction, this is definitely one for you. Very highly recommended. 😊🤞

I found this book confusing to listen to at first as there were a few different characters that the narration switched between. However, I was soon able to suss out who was who and once I had done this the book became more enjoyable. I really liked the unravelling off the inter linked relationships between all of the main characters. The narrator had a voice that I enjoyed listening too. If I could I would give this book 3.5 stars.

This is definitely don't judge a book by its cover! Its a dark and twisted story. An opening scene with a murder. A group of friends who have been together since college and an event at a party that goes to reveal all the secrets. So many twists and turns. A really good read.

Three women, Mackenzie, Robin and Lily, have been friends since university days. Although they are very different and admit themselves that they would not have become friends under other circumstances, their shared university experience has made them inseparable.
This book really confirms the saying that we never know what goes on behind closed doors. Everything looks so perfect from the outside, but when we get the chance to see what's going on behind the scenes, we realise that it's not at all as it appears.

When one of the husbands is murdered, it turns out that all three women have a motive.

I liked that each of the women narrates her own story from her own point of view. The characters were well drawn, but I didn't like any of the men. I'm starting to think that reading psychological thrillers is making me very suspicious of men!

An interesting psychological murder mystery, well read by Sarah Borges, although it was sometimes difficult to know who was speaking, as the voices were not sufficiently different..

I agree with another reviewer who commented that she wished she'd taken notes on who's who from the beginning, but this is often difficult with an audiobook when you're driving or washing up while listening.

This was a really good listen. Based on the long friendship between 3 women who met at college and stayed friends into adulthood. I enjoyed the unravelling of the 3 women's lives and the drama, some of whch happened 20 years before, nothing is quite as it seems. This was a thriller and a book about relationships and what happens when secrets are kept. The story is told through alternate chapters from the 3 women's point of view and it is interesting to see each of the perspectives as they were all different. The story covers, rape, drug abuse, domestic abuse, cheating, consent and ultimately murder. There are several twists which added to the suspense and I wasn't sure until the end what the outcome would be.

One Perfect Morning by Pamela Crane is not my normal type of book but I quite enjoyed it. It tells the story of Mackenzie, Robin and Lily who have been best friends since college. They live perfect lives with their perfect families but not all is what it seems.
As the secrets and lies developed so did my interest.

I 'read' this book on audio and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Throughout the story numerous lies are told and long kept secrets are shared.

Mackezie, Robin and Lily have nurtured their friendship since meeting in college but 20 years on things are more than a bit different.

Although the secrets are fairly easy to predict, other circumstances are not, keeping the reader guessing as to what will happen when all the deceit comes to light.

This is my first experience of Pamela Crane's work and Sarah Borges does an amazing job bringing this story to life.

One Perfect Morning may well be my first experience of Pamela Crane but it won't be the last!

Loved this book. You think you know where this book is going but you are totally wrong. Loved the way it was written and how different the characters were. When you get to know the characters you start to like them and feel empathy and then as the story unfolds you find yourself liking some more than others. They all have their flaws each with their own reason for having them. First book by this author but certainly won't be the last. Definitely recommend

An unputdownable, excellent murder mystery with the right amount of rhythm and pace. I would say that the main themes are the importance of finding your voice as a female, the subject of consent and how important is for us, the parents, to educate our sons and daughters on the above. The narrator, Sarah Borges, is just brilliant and just adds to the whole experience.

Sadly this didn’t hit the mark for me. I’m not sure if it was the plot line itself or the narration. The narrator had a strange staccato voice which didn’t appeal to me. The story follows three best friends and there is just too much going on that it was hard to follow the audio. The story is told in the first person for each of the friends.. So the audio was particularly tricky as it was the same narrator throughout. I will try the written version of the book because I did find the three storylines intriguing but as an audiobook it didn’t work for me.

I listened to this as an audiobook and I was totally drawn into the story. All the characters were likable in their own charming or not so charming way. I would read/listen to more from this author. The narrator was very good at pulling you into the story. I loved it.

This is my first book by Pamela Crane and it surely won't be the last! I flew through this fast-paced, thrilling, yet very realistic novel about three damaged best friends who live behind the façade of a perfect life. 5 stars, no less.

Mackenzie, Robin and Lily are three best friends living in the same small town with their own families. But each of them harbors some shady secrets which could destroy their lives. So when one of their husbands is found dead, the friends' lies are at a danger of being exposed - and so is their seemingly perfect friendship.

I love drama, crumbling friendships and real-life tragedies - not because I'm a terrible person (I hope), but because these are such real problems which one normally keeps behind closed doors. Pamela Crane kept no doors closed and no stone unturned in this highly emotional (anti-?) friendship thriller. I stayed up, unable to put it down.

As I was lucky to receive an advance copy of this audiobook, I must say it elevated my experience a thousand times. The narrator made the story come to life in a fully dramatic, very personal way, which I loved. It kept me at the edge of my seat and seriously made me think about the friendships and relationships in my life, and the motivations behind them. I love when it happens, when a seemingly light book makes me think. Pamela Crane managed to accomplish that masterfully, so I can't wait for more thrillers from her.

This is a fantastic audiobook about three friends called Mackenzie, Robin and Lily, who have been friends for years, and how they interact with each other and their families. The story reads like a thriller and is very fast paced and exciting, with lot of secrets and twists - it always left me wanting to listen to more. I really enjoyed and loved this book and found it very interesting. I loved the way I didn't know what was going to happen next.. The narrator of the book was very good and did a great job in keeping the book exciting.

Within minutes of starting this audiobook I was hooked. I picked this book blindly, I wasn't familiar with Pamela Crane and the cover wasn't all that inspiring to me but the synopsis was enough to go for it anyway. I am SO glad that I did. This book ( specifically the audiobook) blew me away!
In One Perfect Morning you will get to know three best friends and the innumerable secrets that not only bind them together but just might rip them apart. If you are a fan of authors like Liv Constantine and Liane Moriarty then I highly recommend you give this book a look as well!

I loved this book! I loved the storyline as it follows a group of friends through life with secrets, scandals and real life events. Just when you think you have everything figured out, the plot twists. I couldn't stop listening from beginning until end. The narrator does a very good job with the different voices. I would & will recommend this book to my family and friends!

Robin, Lily and Mackenzie are lifelong best friends. They’ve been through college, new jobs, marriages, divorces, births, deaths and now… murder? Friendships are tested, promises are broken, betrayals are made and secrets are exposed. Can their friendship stay strong or is has the turmoil finally signalled the end of the ‘spicier girls?!’

I really enjoyed this audio book – there were a LOT of plots happening all at once, which made you feel like you were binge watching a juicy TV drama or soap. The women’s friendship gave me major ‘Desperate Housewives’ vibes – I couldn’t help but picture the characters as new add-ons to the popular TV show! It felt like every few chapters a new secret was being unearthed; almost like the start of a new episode. The drama stayed consistent, albeit I often felt like I was waiting for something more or something less predictable. With the multitude of characters, I would have liked either a solid focus on one or two narratives, or some of the smaller subplots to be fleshed out slightly more, as it often felt as though sometimes there were ‘shocks’ for the sake of being ‘shocks’ rather than actually having them fit the characters and their backgrounds.

With the huge array of different narratives – there was something for everyone. Whether it was murder, assault, infidelity or money issues – the narratives touched on really serious issues, again, similar to a TV soap. For a strong female led cast, and the fact it was written by a woman; I was quite surprised at some of the archaic stereotypes of women and disappointed that Pamela Crane didn’t use her platform to champion some of these characters to be stronger and more independent! I wasn’t personally a fan of the way some of the intense narratives such as sexual assault were brushed over and almost trivialised, but I do appreciate the fact that it was mentioned in the first place, as it’s a brave subject matter to try and tackle! Pamela Crane developed her character backstories really well, so I felt like I knew them personally! I really enjoyed the beginning of the book as it set a perfect tone of mystery and intrigue, drawing you in and making you need to know more.

Sarah Borges was an excellent narrator. I loved her voice; her inflections and character’s voices fit my imagination of them perfectly, she also really built the tension well with her slight pauses and dramatic narration. She had great rhythm and delivered each twist with the perfect amount of tension.

Overall, this is an audiobook that I would recommend to any fans of Desperate Housewives or Big Little Lies – although be mindful of some of the trigger warning subjects if that bothers you. Also, be aware that you might start looking at your friends slightly differently while you try and figure out what secrets they’re harbouring!
