Such a charming little book!!

This book reflects the crazy time that is/was COVID-19 and looks at it from the point of view of a small child. (it doesn't specifically refer to covid, but we all know that is what its based on)
The story is centred by the making of a rainbow to put in the window - but I feel its so much more than that.
It looks at the idea of family and friends, and that they are the most important things.

I really liked how the characters looked at previous photo memories in the memory box, and then aimed to add more to it.

The illustrations were great - and felt kind of old fashioned. They reminded me of the books I read in my childhood 30 years ago.

It was very charming and heartwarming! Very sweet!!!

Very cute book dealing with the covid19 issue. Will definitely use this within school. Perfect for helping young children in this crisis. Wonderful illustrations.

A delightful little read helping children understand that they are not alone in how they feel about this pandemic and that their friends feel the same. The little girl finds things around the house to make a Rainbow to show to the world. Very much a book for 2020.

Review to be added to Amazon UK and US on 17th September – publication day!

I thought it was well written and it was a good book to read as we are going through the current Covid-19 pandemic. The images are nice and bright too and help bring the story to life.

I thought that it was a great way to explain to children why they were not able to play with friends and see family, luckily some of the rules have since relaxed but they could come back if there is a resurgence.

It is 4 stars from me for this one – a lovely little read and it has a good underlying story too – highly recommended!

This is a lovely colourful book, which gently echos some of the action, thoughts, feelings, changes and restrictions Young children may have experienced during lockdown.

I will read it in school and know it will make the children want to talk about their experiences, be it making a rainbow, missing friends and family, feeling sad, parents needing to work, using virtual ways to connect etc.

Lovely illustrations and simple straight forward text.
