This was like a giant puzzle that when you laid the pieces out you had no idea how this was going to fit together. Two current murders of young girls, the potential they were from a long sought after serial killer, the 20 year old murder of a husband and wife and the man that had been convicted of their murder now looked to be innocent and a small town that seemed to be hiding tons of secrets. FBI agent Nikki Hunt and her ERT team are sent to Stillwater, Minnesota with the discovery of two girls frozen on a lake. Stillwater was Nikki's hometown and where her parents were brutally murdered and a place she has avoided since. Once they determine the girls were not killed by the serial killer they had been hunting they decide to stay to solve the girls murders not knowing what a Pandora's box they would be opening and how it all tracked back to Nikki's parents murder. This was such an addicting read even when it was going in so many different directions with the investigation you just couldn't stop reading it and was dying to know how it was all going to intersect. Strong start to a series and looking forward to more. |
Excellent read. FBI agent Nikki Hart is an interesting protagonist and her return to her hometown to search for the killer of two teenagers coincides with her own past. As a teenager herself, she helped convict Mark Todd, the boy she though had murdered her parents. but now his conviction is being called into question and Nikki struggles to remember exactly what happened that fateful and why anyone is questioning what she remembers. Great story, good writing, interesting characters. I will definitely read the next installment in the series. |
#TheGirlsInTheSnow #NetGalley A dagger sharp crime thriller. Highly recommended. I was interested in reading this book since I've read its synopsis and then on the release of its cover. I don't want to reveal much about this story because it's so intriguing that one can enjoy it by oneself once he or she starts reading it. So here's a little about the story. Opening scene of the story introduces us to Nikki Hunt, FBI and without further a do the writer ensured us that this would giving to be a crime thriller. Two fifteen years old girls' bodies were found in Stillwater, Minnesota. No identify, nothing to proceed. But Nikki is sure that the killer is a local who knows that area well. He or she would have thought that these bodies would never be found. But now they're found and Nikki has to investigate. Nikki has to catch the killer before he or she will strike again. Afterall Nikki has caught many killers in her life, didn't she? I loved Nikki Hunt, John, Annemarie. Although it was Nikki's show. She will be going to become a most loved detective in near future. Narration of the story is simple but engaging. I never figured out what's going to happen next until I read it myself. Waiting for 19th Oct so that I can share it with my fellow Authors Bloggers Followers Friends and Family and post a public review. Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me an advance copy. |
