A really enjoyable read that highlights family dynamics and the secrets that we keep from others and sometimes ourselves. A great twist at the end that you don’t see coming!

Family always comes first- I think this statement sums up the entire book!

Gina Dewar is the perfect wife, mother, daughter-in-law. She understands the responsibility that comes with marrying into America’s golden family, and she tries not to burden her husband Bobby with drama from her own small-town past.

But the Dewars aren’t quite as apple pie as they seem. When Bobby is publicly accused of having an affair cracks start to appear in the Dewar clan, and when he denies any knowledge, Gina faces an impossible dilemma. Should she stand by her husband, or listen to her sister-in-law, telling her that there is more to this story?

With the future of her family so uncertain, Gina is about to find out what she’s willing to do to protect those she loves…

Even though this is the second book in this series, it is a completely different story and can be read a standalone. But I was definitely excited to see a reference to the previous book in the form of Cassie and Julie at one point in this book.

There are quite a few characters in this book each having a story and personality of their own. My personal favourites were Malaika and Calan and also Alice to a certain extent. Though I enjoyed reading about Gina through the book, I kind of lost my respect for her at the end of book when she decided not to come clean about her secret.

The inclusion of the #MeToo movement in the book was good and it was nice to see the collective action and decision taken by the women at the end to bring about a change in the company.

Overall, this a story that's filled with family drama and secrets right till the end.

Thank You to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC!

When I read a book that is part of a series, I am always looking forward to seeing the main characters again. I have to say that the link was not strong enough for me between the two stories. That is personal of course and it does not change the fact that I liked this story a lot too.

The author treats us to a whole lot of lies, deceit, heartache but love plays an important role too.

Sometimes there were a bit too many details which slowed the pace down, but the last part of the book was really great and made up for it.

I liked the first book more, but this was more than worth reading as well. 4 stars.

Thank you, Cecilia Lyra and Bookouture.

Emotional and unputdownable.
Everyone loves his or her family, isn't everyone? Alma, New York is the perfect town, right down to the coordinated shopfront decorations on Main Street, and Gina Dewar is the perfect wife, mother, daughter-in-law. She understands the responsibility that comes with marrying into America’s golden family, and she tries not to burden her husband Bobby with drama from her own small-town past.
This was a superb family drama with lots of characters and twists. I loved it.
I'll post a public review and share it with my fellow Authors Bloggers Followers Friends and Family.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me an advance copy.

The Faithfuls is a complicated, tangled layered story. The Dewar family rules Alma, NY. Everyone in the family conforms to expectations. Except the family is about to unravel due to long held secrets. Adultery, lies, exposure, cover ups, and change will hit the family hard. I liked the ending a lot. My favorite characters were Malaika and Calan. I thought Gina was a hypocrite by refusing to come clean about her secret even after learning Bobby's secret. Lyra ties in the first book in a clever way.
