This is another beautiful book by Oliver Jeffers. It is the story of a father and his daughter and the life that they are going to build together, filled with the adventures that they will have. I read it with my 5 year old son and it was a lovely starting point for a discussion about what all we could do together and the different adventures we could have and already have had. He thoroughly enjoyed reading it with me.

The illustrations are just what you’d expect from Jeffers too - beautiful and filled with many details that you only see the on the second or third reading.

This has the makings of another classic. Loved it.

Oliver Jeffers continues to provide picture books that are absolutely beautiful in terms of their art and the story that is shared. I love the simple art work and text that accompanies and consider this to be, yet again, an important addition to any school library - as all his picture books are!

Beautiful picture book with such in depth illustrations. I can see many opportunities for this to be used with early years children to encourage group discussion and activities including families, relationships, hobbies, space, transport and rhyming. Of course it is also just an incredible book to read for pleasure.

Oliver Jeffers is a household name for most families. My own children grew up with books such as Stuck, Lost and Found and A Child of Books. His well known illustrative style is iconic and much loved,
Building on from Here We Are, is this newest title written for his daughter.. It explores themes of family and working together to build a future and protect the world.
As our children grow, we want them to build their future, create the world they want and need as well as make time for their own hopes and dreams. This is an important book for schools to use after Here We Are, which is being used across the UK as schools go back in September.
As many of Jeffers books, this will bridge plenty of in depth conversations about possibilities, our future and our world.
The illustrations, as mentioned, are perfect and in true Jeffers style.
A lovely book and one for every school to own and use wisely!

Every bit as beautiful as Oliver Jeffers' previous books. This is a book about building things together, and discovering the important things in life. Perfect to read out loud, and as always accompanied by incredible illustrations. Heartwarming and gorgeous!

Another touching picture book from Oliver Jeffers, which explores family and future.

A little girl and her dad discover a world of possibilities, and wonder what they will create together as they grow. From tunnels to anywhere, to roads to the moon, the future is filled with endless potential.

Filled with Jeffers' much-loved illustrations, this story is a visual treat. From hammock on the moon to a boat punching its way through the waves, there was so much to admire and marvel at with every turn of the page. My daughter particularly liked the double page spread of characters around the fire, and we also had fun looking out for the pig in each page's adventure.

This story prompted lots of conversations, about forgiveness, family and what is important to us. We discussed what the characters hopes and dreams might be, based on the items they carried with them, and enjoyed guessing what would happen next.

The words are soft and soothing, making this a perfect book for bedtime, or to read to very young children. Up and Down is one of my son's favourite bedtime stories, and he enjoyed seeing some familiar friends in this book.

What We'll Build is a story I can see families treasuring forever.

This is such a sweet book for parents to read aloud to their children, especially as Oliver Jeffers wrote this book for his daughter Mari. It also has the absolutely stunning illustrations that I've come to expect from Jeffers. I am an adult with no children and I have read this multiple times already.

Thank you, #NetGalley and Harper Collins Children's for the free copy in exchange for an honest review.
