In "Coast to coast Murders" by James Patterson Trucker Michael Fitzgerald's life is turned upside down when the body of a young woman is found in his apartment. Despite his protestations that he's never met the woman it appears very much to the Police as if he not only knows her very well but they've having a relationship.. Investigation shows that there have been other murders across America that coincide with the routes Michael has been taking in his job. Further suspicion is cast . as Michael's first thought on finding the body is to try to contact his sister Megan. Megan and Michael are very close having been adopted together and sharing an extremely unusual childhood. As the evidence mounts against Michael he escapes custody, goes on the run and the race is on to prevent more murders when a pattern emerges. This is 100 mph stuff with constant action and never a dull moment, it's like a Simon Kernick story on Acid. Megan and Michael's past is revealed and it appears that there is a link between that and and the situation Michael finds himself in. There are several twists, people are not who they seem and all is not how it appears and there's a particularly clever ending. The tale does stretch the limits of credibility more than a bit but at the end of the day it's excellent escapist entertainment. A very good read and yet another hit for James Patterson. |

Loved this novel, so many twists and turns. Can you make a person have split personalities, to be the point that they can't remember what they've done? How far would a psychopath go to protect themselves and the persone they care about? Michael and Meg are both adopted by doctors, but what do they want them for, Dr Bart and Dr Rose use them and others for research. When murders start happening across the country, all the evidence points to Michael, he has blackouts and can't remember periods of time do isn't really sure if he had done anything or not. I would love a follow up to this book to the up loose ends like who did die and who.is alive did they catch the killer in the end of not? What happened with Dobbs and Gimble? Many thanks for giving me the opportunity to read this book will definitely be recommending to family and friends. |

Let The Chase Begin 🏎 Coast to Coast is told from a few perspectives, twists and turns to the end. A bit of a slow starter, but plenty happening. Based around Michael and Megan, adopted children of Dr Barton and Dr Fitzgerald, taking you from the present to past events. Difficult to note too much without giving away any spoilers. Overall good read. |
#TheCoasttoCoastMurders #NetGalley James Patterson never disappoints and this book was no exception. From the first page I was drawn in by the fast paced plot and I hung on every word! Plenty of action which I love in a thriller - I don't want to get bogged down with lots of descriptions - and just when I thought I could stop holding my breath as the truth had come out there was not one but two twists at the end!! Brilliant! |
Whenever I see the name James Patterson on a book it’s a must for me. This book doesn’t disappoint. An easy ready with a brilliant story. It will certainly keep you turning the pages. Bravo Mr Patterson, Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the arc in return for an honest review |

Michael and Megan were adopted by husband and wife psychologist/psychiatrist team as an experiment. Horrific treatment means they rely on each other and trust few others. When Michael finds a dead body in his bath one night the first person he calls is Megan. He calls the police and soon they believe he is responsible for a series of murders from coast to coast as they are all similar and he is a long haul driver. The FBI are soon called in to help and from there on things escalate. Who can be trusted, who is real? The story picks up pace as it goes along and makes you want to carry on reading to see what happens next. Very enjoyable as are any of James Pattersons' books once you've sorted out the characters involved, the only downside is the ending which is a bit confusing, maybe we have to draw our own conclusions, worth the read though. well |

James Patterson is a master writer of the thriller genre and this one is no exception We go on a massive ride with the four main characters adopted siblings Michael and Megan Fitzgerald and Los Angeles, Detective Garrett Dobbs and FBI Agent Jessica Gimble who are trying to find a serial killer. An arrest was made but the murders continue and Michael Fitzgerald is their main suspect as a truck driver he has the means and there is the fact that a murdered woman was found in his bath tub . But is it all that it seems or is their more going on than anyone realises It will all come to stunning conclusion on the final chapter as it usually does with James work |
The Coast-To-Coast Murders is co authored by James Patterson and J.D. Barker. It is narrated in first person and is shown through the eyes of multiple characters. This is the first book that I have read by Patterson or Barker and I must say that I was not disappointed because it completely blew my mind to smithereens. Filled with a great storyline, strong characters and the craziest twists. Every time I thought that I had it figured out another twist was thrown my way. I definitely did not predict that ending. This is a must read… I recieved an advanced copy for free, and this is my honest opinion. |

I'm a fan of James Patterson's books and have been for a long time, so was excited to read this new one. I have to admit though that I didn't find it as good as I usually do - this was a bit confusing at times. I found the statements made by Megan confused me at some points. However, it was still a great story just not as good as other James Patterson books. |

James Patterson never fails Edge of your seat writing And a twist at the end you won't see coming This is a must read Thank you netgalley, James Patterson and Random House for allowing me to read and review this book. |
I absolutely loved The Coast To Coast Murders by James Patterson and J.D Barker. There were so many twists in this book that my head is still spinning after finishing it. Everytime I thought I had figured out where the story was going there was another twist that sent me completely down a different path. In the end I could not put it down and went onto read half of it in one sitting as I was desperate to know what was going to happen next. Even on the last page the book did not disappoint with a twist to the ending I did not see coming! Thank You to NetGalley for my ARC |

I am normally a big James Patterson fan. I thought though that the plot got lost. There was so much happening that in places I found it difficult to know what was part of the main storyline. Thank you to Netgalley for my copy. |
This is a long book with almost 500 pages that include 150 chapters, although that may seem excessive they are mainly when a different character takes over the narrative. I was totally hooked from the first page with its intricate and fast paced plot. Many twists and seemingly unexplainable situations keep you guessing..... and just when you think you have it figured out..... you haven’t! Couldn’t stop reading, what a journey this novel takes you on, brilliant! |
James Patterson does it again!!! A slight departure from his usual style but what a ride! Atmospheric, intriguing and oh so good!!! A must read for any mystery/crime/ thriller fans! |
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this ARC. Wow, I found this to be a fast paced, thrilling read which I got through in just over a day. I was drawn in to this book from the beginning and it held my attention all the way through. I liked the authors writing style and that the story was told through different characters, some who were likeable and some not. The book has a great plot line that kept me guessing and a shock at the end I didn’t expect. A great read overall and I’d recommend if you like crime and police thrillers. |

From the first sentence to the last this is a masterclass in thriller writing. A story of serial murders spread across USA but is it a serial killer or a series of killers? A truly gripping fast moving unusual storyline, could it come true is it possible? Who is the hero? Who is the villain? Will we ever know? Don’t miss this book if you like the best |

Another absolutely brilliant book by my favourite author. I would recommend any James Patterson book. If you’ve never read any, give them a try. You will soon be hooked and waiting for the next on to be published |
Absolutely brilliant! Sick, creepy, shocking, rolled into a suspenseful and an oh-so-cleverly complex mile-a-minute page turning rollercoaster ride of a thriller. I thoroughly enjoyed the short chapters and rapid switching of view-points to keep the narrative flowing. However the collaboration worked, JD Barker and James Patterson have created a great read. Should you read it? Will you read it? Will you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed it? These aren’t important questions, what is important is Who is on the Mark? Thanks NetGalley and RandomHouse UK for a Review Copy |
This is my first book by either of these authors. I've been wondering about reading James Patterson for some time as he is such a popular author but I have decided that his writing and maybe the genre is not for me. I am not sure how much this books is typical of one or other of the two authors though so I may be doing one an injustice. The book gallops along at a huge pace with 148 short chapters but it felt frenetic at times. Michael and Megan are the adoptive children of psychiatrist Dr Bart Fitzgerald and psychologist Dr Rose Fitzgerald. Michael uses his previous name of Kepler as he is estranged from his adoptive parents. It starts with Michael coming home to find a dead girl in his bath and a stack of evidence pointing at him as the murderer even though he claims to have never met the girl. More murders are then connected with him as the title suggests. As the story develops we learn more about Michael and Megan’s childhood which gets more and more unbelievable. I had to suspend belief many times during this novel. There is a lot of violence with guns, hatchets, scissors with pages of blow by blow accounts of who did what and their exact locations. Same with car chases. It would have suited me to have been a hundred pages shorter without this minutiae. I am rating it low at 3 stars as it really wasn’t a book for me but I can appreciate that fans of these authors and this genre will enjoy it. I don’t want to give spoilers so cannot say too much other than I am still not 100% sure I understand the ending which is always a disappointing after investing so much time to read a book. With thanks to NetGalley and Random House UK, Cornerstone for a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review |
