This is my first Sarah Morgan book but I will certainly be looking out for more of her work. This Christmas tale was just perfect and has really whetted my appetite for all things festive!
A story mainly about mothers and daughters, mistakes and regrets and healing and changing – I loved it. I enjoyed how the chapters were told from the perspective of each character, i.e. Gayle, the mother and Samantha and Ella her two adult daughters from whom she has been estranged for five years. The story begins in America where Gayle is a celebrated author of self-improvement books but after an accident, she seeks out her daughters and the three of them plus Ella’s husband and young daughter, Tabitha, take a trip to the Scottish Highlands to try to re-connect, mend fences and to try to put a troubled past behind them. Once the story moves to Scotland the book really opens up to become the most magical Christmas story you could want. Beautiful scenery, reindeer, an old house struggling to make ends meet but its owners hoping, with Samantha’s help, to become a thriving business for visiting families. Christmas trees, snowman building and festive baking all add to the wonderful Christmas spirit. During the Christmas break however, all things don’t go smoothly and there are tears and recriminations but then secrets are revealed that will change all of their lives. Of course, there is a handsome hero in Brodie the landlord of the house who will cause hearts to flutter! This lovely book has everything you could wish for in a Christmas book so set aside lots of uninterrupted time, curl up, grab a hot chocolate and indulge yourself. Another 5 star read from Mrs. Christmas aka Sarah Morgan.
For many people, myself included, family, is the heart of Christmas, bit it the Holy one or our own. No family is perfect, members come and go, we cut some out of our lives and cling to others like a liferaft. It is this realism that Sarah Morgan entwines with her romance that makes me regret when I have to put her books down, to you know, go to work.
There is no sugarcoating the relationship, between Samantha, Elle, and Gayle, each headstrong in their own unique way. It takes an accident to bring mother and daughters together for the first time in five years, have their voices been too quiet for too long? Will secrets and fears sever their connection completely?
A festive holiday in remote Scotland, maybe their last chance to mend bridges, make peace and open up, throw in a hot 'laird', a four-year-old, and a little Christmas magic and Sarah's latest book gives us a perfect escape from our everyday problems.

Well, One More For Christmas was just perfect. It had everything I need for a warm cosy book that you can read while curled up under a blanket with a hot chocolate. Utter bliss.

This was the first book that I have ever read by Sarah Morgan, however, having seen all the other reviews I knew that I would be in for a treat. And having read this book I was not disappointed.

Here we follow Gayle, Samantha and Ella, an estranged Mother and Daughters, who come together at Christmas to see if they reconcile their relationship. Each chapter is alternatively between the three women. Each one has their own issues to overcome and their own secrets to reveal. Each must learn to open their hearts so that they can let each other in.

And so with the trepidation of having Christmas together they end up going to Scotland for a vacation that they will never forget. Also when they get there, there is Brodie the dashing estate manager who may set someone heart on fire!

I loved the scenery, the reindeers, the fairytale lodge. It sounded idyllic and somewhere where I would love to visit. There was something very special. In a way I am sad that we spent the first third of the book in America as it would have been lovely to have spent more time in Scotland.

One More for Christmas will have you laughing, smiling and crying. Sometime at the same time. This was a joyous read that shows that all families are different and not perfect. But also shows the magical effect that Christmas can have. Even on Scrooge. I loved every Christmassy moment and for me it ended far to soon!

This is a perfect Christmas book - Christmas atmosphere throughout with plenty of Christmas trimmings, tree, reindeer, snowy landscapes in Scotland and a real sense of an atmospheric Christmas for the reader.

The narrators are Gayle, a successful business woman in USA and her two adult daughters Samantha and Ella. Gayle runs a boutique consultancy helping people to better themselves and has written books and made TV appearances. Unfortunately she took her profession to extremes with her daughters and brought them up to be self-sufficient and successful with little love involved. Following a big row five years ago the daughter have become estranged from their mother who does not even know that Ella has a husband and daughter, Then Gayle has a nasty accident and her daughters are called.

The plot moves to a very festive Kinleven estate in Scotland which Samantha is sampling to become a destination offered by her tailor made festive vacations business. Enter Brodie, laird of the estate and his family along with Samantha family who join her on the trip.

This is a great heart warming Christmas story with romance, strong Christmas theme throughout and a good family story. With thanks to NetGalley and HQ for a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

I picked this book up unsure I would like it. Well I was proven wrong. Read in record time, loved the way it didn’t just concentrate on one character. You were continually updated about each one. I have to say it actually made me sit down and look at my own life.
If you love a family tale you will enjoy this, full of surprises, laugh out loud moments and then the happy bits. It’s got it all. Recommend

It’s almost Christmas time which means another fantastic Christmas novel by Sarah Morgan and, this year, it is especially welcome. It really cheered me up and I spent a few enjoyable hours curled up on the couch reading it and forgetting everything else.

One More Christmas is mostly a story about mothers and daughters. Thousands and thousands of women admire Gayle Mitchell. She is an icon, she promotes independence and encourages women to make it on their own, eliminating the things – and the people – that could stop them from reaching their goal. Her books are at the top of the bestselling charts and she wins lots of awards. She has everything she needs until, following an accident, she realizes how lonely she is. Gayle hasn’t talked to her two daughters in five years and it is time to fix their relationship and what better time than during the Christmas holidays?

Samantha is Gayle’s eldest daughter. She’s never agreed with her mother’s philosophy, but she’s followed her footstep and she is the CEO of her own travel company. I am so happy Sarah Morgan takes us back to the Scottish Highlands (which we already visited in The Christmas Sisters). Sarah Morgan’s descriptions create such a beautiful atmosphere and an evocative setting and the story is so funny, romantic, and engaging. I adored the characters. They feel authentic and likable. Also there are reindeer, Christmas trees, snowmen, and gingerbread men. So, what more would you want?

Gayle Mitchell is the CEO of a consultancy firm, she is also an author. Samantha is Gayle’s eldest daughter and runs her own travel company. Ella is close to her sister Samantha, but has failed to tell her mother that she is married or that she has a daughter.

Following an accident, Gayle works to fix the relationship she has with her daughters. Samantha has been invited to spend some time in the Scottish highlands around Christmas and the rest of the family is going to be spending time with her.

Morgan has filled this book with many festive experiences such as; cutting down and decorating a real Christmas tree, making gingerbread reindeers and sleigh rides with reindeers.

With detailed descriptions of Christmas in the Scottish Highlands whilst snow is falling outside has really got me in the festive mood.

Another fantastic book from Sarah. I love her easy to read writings and this book doesn’t disappoint. Christmas in Scotland with 2 dysfunctional families suffering from bereavement and bad communication but relationships change and fun emerges but who pairs off with who. Sometimes to know too much of the plot is wrong as you already know the end so I won’t divulge that but keep reading. Thanks Sarah and NetGalley.

Lovely book which is set in the Scottish Highlands, making an ideal setting for a festive book. The story focuses on three women Gayle and her two daughters Ella and Samantha and the relationships between them. This is my favourite Sarah Morgan book now.

Another Christmas blockbuster from Sarah Morgan. The book centres around sisters Samantha and Ella along with their estranged mother Gayle. Despite not spending Christmas together for many years Gayle has decided she wants to spend Christmas with her daughters. Can the past be forgiven to allow this to happen? Told from the perspective of the females it is a feel good story, perfect for Christmas.

Gayle is a successful woman with two daughters that she has a difficult, if not frosty relationship with. Following a nasty fall on live TV, Samantha and Ella visit Gayle as she recovers.

Samantha has lined up a business trip to Scotland with Ella and her family. Gayle joins them and family secrets are revealed as the family spend time together.

I really wanted to enjoy this book, but I must admit that I struggled to get engrossed in the story. I read it to the end and felt that, although the story came together, there could have been more to the story.

Samantha and Ella are close sisters, united by their family bond, trust and love. They are self- sufficient and have not spoken to their opinionated mother for over five years. Then they both get a call that shocks them to their core. Their estranged mother Gayle has been taken into hospital after a fall and has requested that they come to see her. It looks bad – she has rib and head injuries. Immediately they travel from their new homes miles and miles away from her place, fearing the worst. They feel duty bound to visit her in her sickbed.
When they arrive Gayle is a shadow of her feisty self, the successful author and business woman admired by her many fans. She has had time to think about how she is missing out on a relationship with her girls. She dismays Samantha and Ella by suggesting they spend Christmas together and work upon the open wounds that ripped them apart. They are horrified. It is impossible for them to enjoy their Christmas together if their mother is there. She will ruin everything because she hates everything about the festive season. As children they never once had Christmas decorations, a tree and Santa never visited them even once.
Ella tells her mother they have already made plans to spend Christmas in the UK on a Scottish Estate in the high mountains, with a client of Samantha’s. Their mother won’t let it go. Forced into a wrestling hold, Ella confesses her secret. She has been married for five years and has a daughter of her own. She hadn’t invited her mother or told her about her granddaughter because she knew her mother would be critical of her choices and her special celebrations would lie in tatters. Gayle is determined to tag along with them. She suggests them all coming for tea so that she can meet her son-in-law and granddaughter. They agree and the tea party goes ahead with Gayle trying her very best to be warm and friendly.
The holiday takes place with Gayle’s family now increased by two. They fly from the USA to the UK for their first family holiday ever, full of fear and trepidation about whether the holiday will be full of tension, falling out and ruining Christmas, or could they really sort out their grievances and arguments, emerging united and blessed with understanding and forgiveness. This is the story of a leisurely family Christmas abroad and the inroads they make towards reconciliation and acceptance.
I enjoyed reading this festive story about family secrets, misunderstandings, a happy holiday together amid stunning scenery and searching for understanding and forgiveness. I read it quickly hoping that their differences could be resolved and that by spending time together they could forge beautiful family memories that would reunite them. The story telling was beautiful and I particularly enjoyed the fledgling romance and the relationships made that I felt sure would develop into friendship, support and mutual understanding. I received a complimentary copy of this novel from publisher HQ through my membership of NetGalley in return for an honest review. These are my own opinions without any outside influences. I have read all of Sarah Morgan’s novels and enjoyed them all and this one is no different. It’s a good read full of warmth and compassion.

Sarah Morgan is definitely my go-to author when it comes to Christmas books. Her stories about romance and family relationships are so real and true-to-life, and always come served up with a good dollop of all things Christmassy!

One More for Christmas is about Gayle, a successful business-woman famous for her self-help books, which are all about taking control of your life and not relying on anyone else. Unfortunately, she's not so successful in her private life and has not seen her grown-up daughters for five years. After an accident lands her in hospital and her daughters are notified as her next-of-kin, Gayle realises she needs to make amends. Samantha and Ella have an uneasy relationship with their mother - particularly Ella, who hasn't even told Gayle that she married five years ago and is now a stay-at-home mum to Tabitha. It doesn't help that Gayle thinks Christmas is a waste of money - Samantha and Ella weren't even allowed to have a Christmas tree as children. Now Gayle wants to make up for lost time and join them on a Christmas trip to Scotland...

I utterly adored One More for Christmas. I really felt for Gayle, who has finally realised what a hash she has made in the way she tried to bring up her children to be tough and self-reliant. She was so desperate that they didn't make the mistakes she did, she's unwittingly made a whole bunch of new ones. It was so sweet watching her try to make amends, and to be a grandmother to Tabitha - building snowmen and making gingerbread - not realising that she's alienating her daughters further because they never got to do that with her.

I particularly loved that the story is told from several points of view: Gayle, Samantha, Ella and Brodie - the owner of the big old house in Scotland where they are taking their holiday. Brodie has problems of his own and the purpose of the trip is for Samantha to help him market his home as a luxury holiday destination. This story has more romance than Sarah's last book, and the affectionate nod to contemporary romances set in the Highlands (Laid by the Laird is a running joke) made me giggle.

If you're looking for a feel-good, funny, romantic, ultra-Christmassy book to read over the holidays then this is definitely the book for you! I know Sarah's fans will love it (think: The Christmas Sisters and Sleigh Bells in the Snow) and it would also suit readers of feel-good romantic comedy such as Trisha Ashley. I'm certainly saving it to read again!

I loved this book! Sarah Morgan has been a favourite author of mine for a while, but she is just getting better and better with each book, moving much more into women's fiction as opposed to romantic fiction from earlier books, although all her books are really lovely reads, especially her Christmas ones.

The book centres around Gayle and her two estranged daughters, Samantha and Ella. Gayle is a well known, high powered business woman who has written self-help/motivational books, yet is so driven and always knows best that she alienated her daughters 5 years ago and they haven't been in contact since. Samantha is also a successful business woman who runs a very exclusive travel company, but closes herself off emotionally, although she is a very good employer and a much more caring character than her Mother. Ella is a much softer character, married with a young daughter and a stay-at-home Mum, after being a teacher.

Then Gayle has an accident at work and her whole life is turned on its head as she re-evaluates her life and her relationship with her daughters.

Through various situations they all end up staying on the Kinleven Estate in Scotland around Christmas, basically so Samantha can evaluate the property for her high-calibre travel clients, but also to hopefully build a few bridges family-wise. There we also meet the McIntyre family who own the Estate, who are struggling with losing their Father/husband not that long ago and trying to keep the Estate viable by opening it to exclusive holidays.

Ella's daughter, Tab, is a delight and really helps to bring the family together, she's excited she has a new Nanna and drags her into building snowmen etc., that Gayle never did with her daughters when they were young as she was always working. There are lots of hurt feelings and misunderstandings to sort out along the way, but they get there in the end. Gayle had reasons for working so hard and wanting her daughters to be so independent, and secrets are revealed as the story goes on and they start to mend bridges.

A really lovely story set just before Christmas with lots of snow, reindeer and Christmas trees, and in the end the spirit of Christmas brought them all together, with new friends made and a love interest for Samantha. Absolutely delightful!

This book was a real cosy treat. The Mitchell family have some issues... the two sisters haven’t spoken to their mum for 5 years! But this Christmas they’re off to the Scottish highlands for a cosy Christmas together.

I loved the setting of this book, it made me feel all warm even though they were in Scotland! The Christmas elements made me so excited to start Christmas shopping and getting the decs out (it won’t be long 😏)!

It was really heartwarming to watch the family relationships grow, and to see the 3 women talking and working through their issues at the happiest time of the year! The book also deals with some important issues that makes this much more than a simple chick lit! Sarah Morgan always achieves that great balance and she is one of my favourite authors.

A captivating novel I thoroughly enjoyed. It is beautifully written, bringing the settings and atmosphere to life by good vivid descriptions. Family secrets and relationships, especially the warm relationship between the sisters added to this page turner.

What a lovely book. This is my second time reading one of Sarah Morgan’s Christmas novels and they are wonderful.

This one tells the story of two sisters, Samantha and Ella, who are estranged from their workaholic mother, Gayle. It’s been five years since they last saw her and a lot has happened since then, such as Ella getting married and having a baby. When Gayle ends up in the hospital, the family are drawn back together and Gayle is determined to make things right. Samantha is a holiday organiser who designs bespoke Christmas holidays for people, so they all go to Scotland over Christmas to research her next venture.

Whilst in the Scottish highlands, the women find a way to open up to each other and begin to repair the bonds between mother and daughters. Samantha learns to allow her emotions to have more sway over her life, and she is drawn towards Brodie, the owner of the beautiful house they are staying in. Ella realises she has to be strong enough to stand up to her mother, and Gayle realises it’s time for some truth and apologies.

This story was so beautiful. I loved seeing the journeys that each of the women went on in this story and certain scenes brought me to tears. It is such a delightful read for Christmas as it is full of love, family, friendships, and new beginnings. Sarah Morgan captures the essence of Christmas so well and has made me yearn for a Christmas in the Scottish highlands, surrounded by reindeer and snow. This was the perfect book for escapism and I am so glad I read it!

This was actually really cozy. I enjoyed it immensely and even though it was predictable, it was exactly what I needed. It was simple, cute, and still it managed to deal with a lot of deeper issues. Do I think you should always forgive your parents for having been bad parents? No. Do I think the case for doing so is made incredibly well in this book? Yes. Absolutely. I wanted more Samantha and Brodie so badly, which I think speaks to the writing and the building of chemistry very well.
