When Tabitha's first love, Connor, walks into the diner where she works many years later, a romance is rekindled. However, Connor is married - to an extremely wealthy woman. When Connor's wife Nina dies, it seems like Tabitha and Connor's love story may have a happy ending - but all is not what it appears. Who is telling the truth and who can be trusted?

If you are looking for a few hours of escapism and a thriller that draws you in, has plenty of twists and turns and keeps you guessing right to the end, then I would recommend this - whilst perhaps not the "best in class" due primarily to somewhat unlikeable characters and moments the plot got a little far-fetched, it was a fun, wild ride..

Thank you to Netgalley and HQ for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

I love Michelle Campbell’s writing and was looking forward to this latest book and it didn’t disappoint.

Who can forget their first love? The one that got away !! Tabitha comes face to face with Connor Ford in the diner where she works . Their lives have taken different paths ,she is penniless and he has married Nina Levitt a billionaire and is enjoying all the trappings of wealth .

Their attraction is instant but Tabitha is wary of becoming involved with a married man. All this changes when Nina dies.

What follows is a story full of twists and turns. I was second guessing the whole way through the book and this definitely added to my enjoyment.

The setting of the book was very glamorous and Michelle’s writing style had me transported to The Hamptons.

This was a fantastic read for me with a brilliant ending which tied up all of the threads in the story.

Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for my chance to read this gripping thriller.

Hamptons Set Suspense....
Hamptons set suspense. Relationships, secrets, lies, glitz, glamour, betrayal and distrust. Enjoyable slow burn whilst the reader explores the numerous relationships and distrust within them not to mention the numerous betrayals but overall, despite the twists and turns, lacking the character depth and development which would have made for a much more intense and thrilling read.

Many thanks to the author, publishers and Netgalley for a free ARC of this ebook.
This book was a mixed bag for me. While the the storyline had much to commend it, and the characters were well written and believable, the dialogue was terribly stilted. I really enjoyed the tone and pace of the story, it kept me drawn in right to the end, it was the wooden way that the characters spoke that ruined it for me. I'll score it a generous 3. 5, rounded down to a 3.

Edward Levitt real-estate Tycoon, founder of Levitt Global Enterprises, Inc., with offices in New York, Hong Kong and Dubai was Nina's first husband. He regularly cheated on her with 'models' who had never held down a job and were young enough to be his granddaughters. However, Edward fifty and Nina twenty-three, met whilst he was still married to the first Mrs Levitt, as the second Mrs Levitt she felt she had no standing to complain, Nina tolerated Edwards transgressions, she loved him. When Edward became ill, Nina nursed him till his passing. She then became an extremely wealthy widow.
Nina Levitt is 52 years old, beautiful, witty, cultured, and one of the wealthiest women in New York. Connor, twenty years her junior, is her second husband, he was penniless when they met, close advisers, told her he was after her money but she ignored their advice as she loved him. From the start of their marriage, because of her past experiences with Edwards infidelity, Nina monitored Connor's phone, email and accounts, Nina sadly was not able to trust easily.
Nina hires a Private Investigator to follow Connor, what she is presented with is incontrovertible proof that Connor has been seeing another woman. In an airtight prenup, if Nina discovers that Connor has cheated on her, she can take back all her gifts, jewellery, cars, a boat, a jet and all the designer clothes and accessories that adorn him.
July 4th Nina throws her annual lavish party at her Southhampton home 'Windswept', attended by hundreds of guests. She has decided to tell Connor she is divorcing him and throwing him out of her house once the party has come to an end with the help of her security consultant Steve Kovacs as she does not know how Connor will react to losing everything.
Sitting in her office on the eve of her party Nina Writes in her diary with tears in her eyes, Nina expresses her sadness at the end of her marriage and concern that she could be in imminent danger. She writes "My husband is planning to kill me. He is in love with someone else and wants my money. If I die unexpectedly, it was foul play, and Connor was behind it. Connor and her".
July 5th Nina is found floating unresponsive in her pool.
We meet Tabitha - waitress at the Baldwin Grill, Derek - Tabitha's ex-husband, Gloria - Nina's Housekeeper, Hank Spears- CEO of Levitt Global, Lauren Berman Head of PR, and Juliet Davis PA and companion to Nina.
A well written compelling read with plenty of twists and turns, love, hate, sadness, joy, mistrust and new beginnings, this story has it all; I thoroughly enjoyed it—a highly recommended read.
I want to thank NetGalley, HQ and Michele Campbell for an ARC to review.

It’s the night of her annual fourth Of July party and Nina is writing in her diary. She’s sure Connor, her husband, is having an affair and she’s going to divorce him. In line with their pre nup he will be left with nothing. She’s afraid he’ll have her killed and made to look like suicide so she’s documenting it all whilst she can. The next morning she is found dead - apparent suicide in the pool. What really happened??

This is a real fast paced thriller where anyone could be a suspect. Connor, although much younger than his wife, doesn’t seem capable of murder, nor does his former love, Tabitha. They met when she was 17 and him 19; her first and only true love.

There were many people I suspected as Nina made many enemies during her life- many not her fault, but people who resented her nonetheless.

I thoroughly enjoyed this and didn’t guess the ending. I’ll definitely be reading more books by Michele Campbell

I was gripped by this book! I haven’t read anything by Michele Campbell before, but I’ll definitely read her others. I certainly couldn’t guess who was responsible. It had glitz, glamour and a bit of normality and romance. Great book!

So initially this book seemed so promising but then it lost my attention completely and I struggled to emotionally get back into it at all, it seemed quite rather unrealistic and it was also hard to relate to any of the characters or situations. I’m afraid this book just wasn’t as gripping as it could have been.

I really enjoyed The Wife Who Knew Too Much, having loved one of Michele’s previous books ‘It’s Always The Husband’.
Tabitha is delighted when she runs into her first love Connor Ford, ten years after she ended up heartbroken. This absolutely addictive book tells their story. How did they end up where they are? Who can be trusted? Who is the real Connor Ford? What will become of Tabitha and Connor?
Brilliant domestic thriller, highly recommend.
Thanks to NetGalley for a Kindle copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a book that grips you from the beginning and keeps pulling you back for more. The characters come to life on the page, some innocently naive while others leave a bad taste in the mouth. As the story unfolds the characters deepen until, by the end, everything I thought I knew about them had been flipped upside down and inside out.

The timeline is dissected at crucial moments, bringing the perspectives of the different main players together in real time. The author does a brilliant job of showing 'how the other half lives' and digging down into the motivations of money, love and status.

I really enjoyed this book and its twists and turns.

This is a tough one to review.

Tabitha finds herself seeing the man she fell in love with years ago and his very wealthy wife dies suspiciously.

While it’s a good read it does suffer from cliched tropes and a very strange frenetic pace.

Certainly quite hard to read.

I really loved this book! It’s the first one by Michele Campbell I’ve read and I will definitely read more. I was really gripped and couldn’t stop reading! The story is of Tabitha who is reunited with Connor, her first love after 17 years and whilst engrossed in their love for one another we wonder if his feelings for her are genuine... he appears to have had a string of loves in is life including his current very wealthy wife. She is found dead and the story unfolds with us wondering whether she was killed and if so by whom, there seem to be several people with a motive and the opportunity. It’s not clear who we can trust or believe and tension builds as the story progresses. The ending was emotional!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and devoured it from beginning to end.
It’s the second book I’ve read by the author Michele Campbell and I really enjoy her writing style and the way she layers the plot and the characters.

The story is told predominantly from the viewpoint of Tabitha, she knew Connor Ford from her teenage years. Now Connor who married Nina Levitt and became obscenely rich walks into the diner where she is working, eventually Tabitha becomes the second Mrs Ford shortly after Nina dies.
Nina’s death is ruled as suicide but was it? Who was involved? Tabitha ends up in the middle of a tangled web of secrets and accusations with ultimately deadly consequences. Who can she trust?

Loved this, got stuck into it straight away.

Tabitha's one that got away, Connor Ford rocks up one day in the grill she's working in. She's never stopped loving him, trouble is, he's now married to a billionaire.

She gets caught up in his life again with disastrous consequences.

This book, set in The Hamptons had a complete Revenge feel about it (the TV show) - it was glamourous, beautiful locations, interesting characters and I loved the flow of the story of Tabitha's early years.

Perfect end of summer read.

Thanks to netgalley for the opportunity to review this book this is my honest opinion.

Really enjoyed this book from the first page. Really loved getting to know the characters, and really liked Tabby.

There are a few twists and turns which keep you guessing, and I enjoy that in a book.

Will definitely look out for the author again.

Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for ARC. Opinions are my own.

What a fantastic read full of twists!! Absolutely loved the characters in the story, they all had their secrets but it made them who they are! Tabby was a likeable character who’s been through a lot. Didn’t see the twist coming and was shocked to discover who was responsible for the murder!
Another 5 star book from Michelle Campbell! Incredible author

This book had me hooked from the first page. It was a gripping rollercoaster of a thriller that moved at a really good pace and didn’t get bogged down at all. The characters really drew me in and whilst it was not very realistic it made for a really enjoyable escape.
I did guess the killer quite early on in the novel but that didn’t stop me enjoying the dramatic build up to the reveal. The only part I felt was a bit rushed was Tabitha so quickly agreeing to spy for the police. It felt like a chapter had been removed. As it went from her lawyer advising her to say nothing to her arriving back with the tag.
I have not read any other books by this author and that’s why NetGalley is so great. It gives you the opportunity to try new authors and opens up a whole new reading area.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me to read a preview copy.

Thank you to NetGalley and HQ for this ARC in return for an honest review.
The first chapter seemed so promising, but then it all went downhill.
I couldn’t get into this book at all and couldn’t relate or warm to any of the characters. It was all rather unrealistic, cheesy and clichéd and I ended up skimming through the last third of the book, not really bothered as to what happened in the end.

First thing we read are Nina's suspicions about her life being in danger. The story drew me in straight away.
Nina, Connor and Tabitha are the protagonists in the story and we get a stronger sense of who they are and their connections by exploring their pasts.
The story unfolds slowly to begin with and allows you to appreciate and enjoy the anticipation of what's to come. As the story line builds, so does the pace and the twists come thick and fast. The finale is satisfyingly brilliant!!
After reading Michele Campbell's books before, I know that nothing is ever as it first seems and to always keep an eye on the supporting characters.
I've looked forward to reading The Wife who knew too much and Michele Campbell delivered another delicious, addictive read.
