Description:
Can a new beginning mend Anabel’s broken heart?
1936, British Channel Islands
When the man she loves marries someone else, young heiress Anabel Robinson flees to the small island of Luniette to forget her heartache.
An accident on the cliffs throws her into the path of Robert Smith, a surly young farmer who grew up on Luniette. Another chance encounter leads to a new friendship with Tim Northorn, a kind naval officer who has been posted on the island.
With two men eager to get to know her, Anabel is soon distracted from her pain.
And although she has sworn off romance, it seems that fate is urging her to open her heart…

Reveiw:
This is a lovely and simplistic romance story. The writing is alright and functional but doesn't have that extra spark to pull you in.. The story is quite leisurely paced and would be great as a palate cleanser possibly.

A sweet and simplistic romance. The writing is OK and functional but lacks that extra spark to really draw the reader in. The story is quite leisurely paced and puts a summer story in mind.
A good read.

SEEDS OF FATE by LEWIS COX is a well written romance novel which takes place in 1936 on the tiny island of Luniette, part of the Channel Islands, where Annabel Robinson is stranded after she misses the boat back to the mainland.
Annabel's father is a very wealthy international financier and she wants to get away after her fiancé. Paul Brycon, marries someone else, feeling that her wealth was one of the causes of their breakup. She does not want any of the islanders to know how wealthy she is, but her secret slips out. It is hard to keep anything from the tight knit community with its ardent gossip mongers. She feels as though she is being watched all the time, which is really the case!
She finds the beauty of the island and the sea peaceful and restorative, but soon gets caught up in a competition between two men, the farmer Robert Smith and Lieutenant Commander Tim Northorn, who are both interested in pursuing a relationship with this interesting new addition to the island community. I like the way that the sea and the weather play an important part in the story.
We see how Annabel's arrival awakens something quite sinister, and we are made to feel her fear and tumultuous emotions. We are kept guessing right to the end and wonder whether she will just give up and go back to London or stay and try and work things out.
It is an exciting read, with a "hint" of Christianity, great characters and an excellent plot. I highly recommend Seeds of Fate to anyone who enjoys this genre.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Sapere Books. The opinions in this review are completely my own.

Thank you to the publisher for allowing me to give feedback for this arc.

This is the first time I read a historical chick lit/contemporary romance. I have been wanting to venture into different books nowadays and experiment with various genres I don't normally read. It was a pleasant surprise when my arc got approved. I stumbled upon this book and was enchanted by the title. I like dramatic titles that gives romantic vibes.

The best feature of this book was the writing. Its super immersive and enchants the reader. I am a fan of substantial books with writing that pulls you in the story. Its something I always look out for (in a good way!) and Seeds of Fate is extremely well written. It shows the thoughtfulness that the author poured into the story. It also flows incredibly well with the genre and brings you to a whimsical story and a sweet romance, complete with the beauty of second chance romances.

Another thing I liked was Anabel's character. She is a rich heiress, burdened by her background and has her heart broken by someone she loved. The way she speaks, her actions, her carefree yet a little depressed attitude - it all says volume about her personality and entwines her history nicely. The romance is super sweet and if you are in a mood for some light, slow-burn romance, with BOTH fluff and angst, this book serves this all on a silver platter.

The love interest is very non-problematic and takes on a fresh trope of being kind yet smitten with the heroine. Tim is GOOD for Anabel and I was rooting for them. For a while, I did start to think Robert was our main guy, but towards the end I was glad it's Tim.

In terms of critique, I have two things to say; the book could have been cut short. Given the genre, I would have preferred it to remain a little shorter than it was. And secondly, I didn't understand the last chapter at all. I think the ending was a little too abrupt. But that's just my opinion.

If you want to read an un-problematic adult romance, that is fresh, well written and not rushed, you will enjoy Seeds of Fate!

This is the first book I have read from this author and I can safely say it will not be the last!

Seeds of Fate was a welcome reprieve from my typical read of magical beings, witches, warlocks, and vampire romance novels. It wasn’t until I was approved for this text that I realized how much I needed a palette cleanser from my typical reach.

Lewis Cox does a wonderful job of connecting you to the main character Anabel Robinson by describing exactly how she is feeling to a level that it is almost eerie because it’s so relatable. The story takes place with a sad beginning, a fantastic middle (creating a whirlwind from all the page-turning you’ll be doing), and a very surprising end. The scene takes place mid 20th century British Channel Islands and follows a woman who has just had her heart absolutely crushed- secure on the thought she would never love again. Giving a relatable introduction to both the character and the pace of the novel. Anabel leaves her home in search of some distance between herself and the man who caused her heartache, ending up on the small island of Luniette, hoping that she can learn to live without him. While on Luniette she meets island native Robert Smith, who saves her after a severe fall off a cliff, and their relationship develops into an extremely interesting one. After checking into her hotel, she meets Tim Northorn the officer in charge of the Navy unit stationed on the island, who ended up being exactly who I wanted him to be, which I will share was not who I thought he would be through reading the book. The relationship development between Anabel and these men is absolutely intriguing, and the detail that Lewis Cox depicts is absolutely amazing and almost makes you feel like you are Anabel even though you don’t often read through her but about her.

The novel seemed to end a bit fast for me and I would have enjoyed a bit more as it feels like the ending was a bit rushed? However, this should not deter anyone from picking it up and giving it a read, I would rate it 4.5/5 stars if I could, however, I am not allowed to grant it half ratings so 4/5 it is from me. I was finished with this book in two nights as I quite literally could not put it down! The writing was fun and absolutely engaging and I am thrilled to read more of Lewis Cox to see what other adventures are in store for me.
