If you haven't been soul-searching this year, I don't know what you've been up to! Most of us have had more than enough time to figure our shit out and yet, we'll all still trying to get through the day.
Between Enneagrams and Myers-Briggs, you're sure to learn more than you ever wanted to know about yourself.
With this book, it's an all in one figure-yourself-out kind of a book!

If you love personality tests, or have always wanted to do one but didn't know where to start, then this is the book for you!

We start with an introduction by the author, who explains their relationship with doing tests, the background behind the tests and then we move on to the 25 tests that you can complete. They are really fun to do, and we get an introduction to each to tell us what is it based on and the background behind it.

The tests don't take long to do and they vary in types. You can find out whether you are an introvert or extrovert, your colours, your personality star sign, your love languages, etc. so it's a great book covering lots of different areas all in one place.

I've done a few tests in the past, but I really enjoy doing them to understand why I make the choices I do or how I could maybe improve in certain situations. The questions do get you to be honest with yourself! These were really fun and I still have a few left to do. The design of the book is really nice as well, sleek and easy to read.

What a fun book of quizzes! If you have always enjoyed doing those short personality quizzes in magazines, this is the book for you. While none of these are thorough personality tests, they give you just enough of a glimpse to peak your curiosity. I will admit, there are a few that approach or cross into the silly category, but for the most part, this is a good starter for personality typing systems. This would be a fun book to have for a Girls' Night gathering.

I received an advanced reader copy via NetGalley.

I found this Personality Book highly enjoyable! Am I a Psychopath? Why yes, yes I am, LOL.

I had such a good time with this one! I'd known some of the tests, and taken them previously, but it had been years so it was nice to revisit them. I can definitely say I know myself better now that I'm done going through this book. It's the perfect idea for a lazy day alone and a different way to have fun with friends and family! I'll definitely get a physical copy.

This was a very interesting book for me. As a psych major, it always fascinates me to learn about people, myself included. Having all these fun but eye opening quizzes was a convenient way to learn more about myself. The quizzes are different, ranging from light hearted to a bit more in depth. The format of the book made it easy to make my way through all the tests, and I was able to do most in a short amount of time. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys personality tests. It is a great way to get to know yourself better.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book!!!

This is a book with different personality quizzes to take. Each quiz comes with a little description at the beginning and they are all easy to understand and follow. If you want to learn more about yourself, this is a fun way to spend your time.

I'm a frugal, emerald green ambivert (oo-er), who would be NASA's next science officer, with my average neuroticism. Oh, and my cynicism, that points out that the first few studies in this book also contain tests I can't even engage with, so limited are the possibilities in the multiple choice and so unrelated to my real life the questions are. Yes, I'd seen a couple of books come across my path recently that I thought would provide a scientific yet friendly purview of personality tests, and this came closest to the real deal. But still… If you take an established, Jungian survey of the mind, where a researcher or yourself ticks the right boxes to see if your personality does indeed tick the right boxes, and then turn it into merely a multiple-choice, limited-to-two-pages and twelve questions ONLY quiz, are you then (a) avoiding copyright issues, (b) simplifying psychology in a perfect way for a common reader, or (c) bodging things on weak credentials?

There is not much wrong with this book inasmuch as it does what it wants to do, but again I feel there was a dumbing-down. Some of the studies here are so common I recognised their names, and yet it was still a shame I was doing this author's condensed version of them, and not the real thing. But perhaps that's a part of my psychology, that says I'd rather the real deal than some cobbled-together effort; the introductions point out how many of these quizzes are online or in magazines, and hence how unscientific they are – these might be a middle ground between legit and le-what-now? Although even that middle ground is lost somewhat with talk of spirit animals and telepathy. It's a commendable book all the same, for showing us how the mind has been tested in many different regards, but it did not escape the smudge of pseudoscience some of the contents left it with.

Oh, and I also tested as above averagely honest. So ner.

This is such a fun book! It’s so nice to get to know yourself and this would be ideal to do with friends as well. Get yourself a pen and paper and get stuck on with this!

A fun little book of personality tests of all kinds. Simply laid out without overcomplicating things. Nice beginner book for anyone interested in learning more about themselves or personalities.

I LOVED this book. It's almost more a workbook than a book. All the personality quizzes were so fun and gave me more insight into myself. I'm buying a copy of this book to have at work for all my co-workers and I to discuss!

Thanks to Quarto Publishing Group - Wellfleet Press for a copy to honestly review!

25 short non-clinical personality tests, a sort of Buzzfeed quiz page in paper form. Most if not all of the tests can be found elsewhere. The inclusion of a "what is your spirit animal?" quiz was inappropriate and offensive. Honestly, I'm a little shocked that contemporary publisher would green light its inclusion.

Brilliantly fun book, I spent an evening with my friend going through a lot of the tests, some made us laugh, some were scary how spot on they were. It’s well presented, fun and colourful, a great fun book, enjoyable tests and not complex. Quick and fun

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

I am a psychology student and that’s why this book initially caught my eye . I think there were a lot of interesting personality tests that were really fun to do. There were some tests I wasn’t familiar with but there was information about these tests so I really liked that and I feel it will really help people who are not familiar with the subject. I am not sure about how authentic these tests are because all tests are scored in various ways.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for this book. Personally I love a good personality test, I love figuring out why we do what we do. This book gives you a nice tidy little pile of quizzes to sit down and do.I will say with a digital copy it was hard to score each quiz (I wrote out my answers on paper for easier reference when tallying the answers). One quiz that caught me off guard was about being a psychopath, I didn’t expect that in a fun book like that. And I’ll say that it told me I wasn’t an empath even though I know that I am, so take these with a grain of salt; but it doesn’t mean you can’t have fun. Doesn’t mean you can learn more or dig deeper into what your answers mean. I recommend this for anyone who’s got some spare time and wants to find out a little more about who they are!

I probably would be biased in my views on this book. I have been educating students on personality in my organizational behaviour courses and dont go by tests so much. I was happy to see the key personality tests mentioned in the initial part of the book - the big 5 is the better one of the lot as far as research in personality is concerned. MBTI and other tests have been criticised a lot by researchers (see Adam Grant’s articles).

The rest of the book refers to a lot of commercial tests and apparently is derived from them. Whether these tests are therefore valid is a question that comes to mind.

Without a doubt the tests are good for fun and to encourage the interest of self awareness in the reader. But then not be construed as a definitive guide to one’s personality.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Wellfleet Press for sending me a copy of this book!

"The Book of Personality Tests" by Haulwen Nicholas is a comprehensive and essential guide to all things personality-test related! I'll start off by saying that I am a huge personality test fanatic and was struggling to find new tests to do (after doing The Myers Briggs test, The Enneagram test, career quizzes, random BuzzFeed quizzes here and there, and then making everyone in my life do those same tests to analyze their findings) I was incredibly excited to get a copy of this book, so if you've found yourself in a similar predicament before, then I highly recommend this!

The book begins with a little bit of backstory on personality fundamentals, ranging from a brief history on Sigmund Freud to Carl Jung. I absolutely adore how each personality test starts off with a little bit of a backstory, and references/credits other popular tests that inspired these quizzes such as The Myers Briggs and The Enneagram tests. It gives us personality nerds more tests to research about, and it allows us to learn a bit about its backstory. This is especially helpful if you're itching to do a longer version of the quizzes, since they are quite short (which can be a good thing, since it makes it convenient to do whenever)

The quizzes themselves are quite short and only takes a few minutes to complete. It's quite easy to calculate your score and get your results once you've answered the questions and this makes it a great book to use with your friends! I personally love how you have to manually calculate your results using a legend and symbol system afterwards, as this eliminates any bias while taking it so you don't know which option leads to which result.

All in all, "The Book of Personality Tests" is the perfect read for you if you're a personality test junkie or want to learn more about who you are and discover aspects of yourself that you may not have even been aware of before. It's a must-read if you want to learn more about the people around you and why people may act in the ways that they do.

I enjoyed this book very much. If you enjoy personality tests and learning more about your personality I believe you would enjoy this book as much as I did.

The tests are provided and the answers are also explained thoroughly which I loved! I enjoy seeing why I'm one and maybe not another type that I could be to. I had a great time and learned a lot about my personality from reading this book.
